Maybe Next May

I woke up the next morning wrapped in someones arms. I tensed for a second, bad memories resurfacing, until I realized it was Alex. I relaxed and closed my eyes, planing to drift off back to sleep. My eyes shot back open however when I felt Alex move and his lips gently kiss my neck. I couldn't help the smile or small giggle that escaped me at the feeling. I slowly rolled over, still locked into his arms, and smiled at him which he returned.

"Good morning Jack. Did you sleep okay?"

"Morning, yeah I actually slept amazing." I gave him a wink and he blushed.

He pulled me closer so that my face was tucked into his neck and his head was resting on mine. We stayed that way for a while until we heard the front door open. Alex gasped and practically threw me away from him like I had burst into flames. He jumped off the bed and started pulling on pajama bottoms. I sat up, making sure to keep the blankets covering my lower half, and gave him a 'what the hell' look. He was definitely freaking out.

"Oh shit shit shit, that has to be my parents! They came home earlier then they said they would. Jack, dammit get up and get dressed! They can't see you here, especially like that!" He threw some pajama bottoms at me and one of his shirts.

If he thought his parents wouldn't notice me wearing his clothes he's a moron. However, I still pulled them on with a sigh and got up. This is why I was worried about starting anything with him. I understood that he didn't want to tell his parents just yet but I knew he more then likely never would. That's just how people like Alex were. I cared about him, so much that it scared me, but I wasn't going into another secret relationship. I crossed my arms and glared at him as he ran around his room trying to make everything look perfect. Even though nothing was out of place to begin with other then my clothes; which he hid under the bed. His eyes finally landed on me.

"What? Come on my moms going to check in on me. Please go into the bathroom or something! She can't see you!" My jaw practically dropped.

"You want me to hide? Alex you could at least tell her we are friends or something."

"But we aren't!" I felt a pang in my heart and Alex's eyes widened.

"No, no no no Jack I didn't mean it like that." I glared with tears in my eyes.

"So everything we did last night meant nothing? What? Is this a game? Is Heath putting you up to this too!? Are you protecting me again by fucking with me, Lex?!" Alex flinched as I raised my voice and he slowly moved towards me.

"Please Jack keep your voice down."

"No! Fuck you Alex." I bent down and grabbed my clothes, pulling off his and putting mine on. I made my way to his window after grabbing my phone.

"W-what are you doing?"

"Going home. Might as well go out this way so that you wont have to explain why I'm here right? God knows how awful that would be." I opened the window and started to climb down when Alex grabbed my arm.

"Jack please, hear me out!" I sighed.

"Not right now Alex. Leave me alone." With that I pulled my arm out of his grip and jumped down.

As I walked away I didn't look back. I didn't want to give him the honor of seeing me cry.

*Alex POV*

The door to my room opened and my mom walked in.

"Good morning baby! We're home a bit early. How about pancakes for breakfast? Hun? What's wrong?" I closed my window, took a deep, shaky breath, and tried to hold the waver out of my voice.

"Nothing mom. Pancakes sound great. I'm going to take a shower and meet you down there okay?"

"Oh, alright. Be quick or it'll either be cold or gone by the time you're down." I nodded and I heard the door close. That's when I let the tears finally fall.

What have I done? I just got him back and I couldn't even keep him for more then a night. You're an idiot Alex.
