Zack's POV
I can't believe my eyes when I see Grace's mom walk in this place. When she heads to the bar and orders a drink, I close my eyes until I hear the glass shatter as Grace drops it. I head over immediately, although I know Jack will be pissed later.

"Mom?" I hear what's left of Grace's heart break in that one syllable.

"Ms.Brown?" Grace's mom whips around to face me, and her face breaks out in a grin.

"Zachary Merrick, you beast of a boy, where have you been?!" She exclaims and hugs me. It makes me sick.

"Kidnapped and stuck here with your daughter, although she's been here much longer than I. You'd know if you paid attention to her for all these years." I hop over the bar to hold Grace in her tears, ignoring the shocked facial expression from Ms.Brown.

"You two don't understand, trust me, I wish I could have been around. I know what you've always thought of me, but it's not the truth." She whispers, leaving me confused as fuck. "Where is your owner, you two stupid kids?" She says rather loudly and Jack appears.

"Hello Ma'am." He states, clearly not recognizing her. "How can I help you?"

"I'd like to speak with your whole staff, if that's okay. In a room, alone. I'll give you a thousand dollars for twenty minutes."

Jack's face is stoic until she mentions the money, when it breaks into a cold grin. "Of course."
