Thanks To You

It was testing week, only two more days to go then it was Summer vacation. I hadn’t talked to Alex all week since testing started. Whenever I would text him it was always, ‘I’m studying Jack, maybe tomorrow. Love you.’ ‘I’m too tired today Jack, sorry. I love you.’ ‘I’m busy right now, maybe later. Luv You!’ It never changed. I even went over to his house yesterday after school, but his mom turned me away, saying he was in the shower and she would let him know I came by. I didn't understand, did I do something wrong?

I watched him today at lunch, at least he still sat next to us. Only problem was he always had a book in his face and his headphones in. I sighed as I watched him, ignoring my food until Rian pestered me to eat. His new girlfriend, Cassadee, agreed which only made me sigh and just pick at my food until the bell rang. We tested all morning until lunch then just had one class before we went home. I honestly didn’t want to go home, I would just sit in my room thinking of Alex. That’s exactly what I did too, right when I got home. Finally around six I decided that i had, had enough. I needed to know what was going on. I hopped out of bed and shot out the front door, then towards Alex’s house.

His mom’s car wasn't there so I knocked a couple times. His bedroom light was on so I knew he was home. Enough of this. I let myself in and started up towards his room.

“Alex! We need to talk!” I called up. I heard a crash and shuffling.

“Jack! Go home please! I-I’m busy!” He called back from his room.

“You’re always busy! What did I do A-” I was cut off when I stepped into his room.
“Alex? W-Where are you going?”
