Maybe it's just because Jack had never lost a sibling. He still had Joe and May, no they didn't talk much because the two were in college and Jack didn't keep in contact, but he knew they were alive. He wanted his Alex back, the one that would laugh at his dick jokes, the one that would smile when he kissed him. The one that didn't talk in his sleep. He needed to talk to Alex.


"Come on Alex, we're going for a drive."

"Jack-- I don't want to go anywhere, can't we just sit here and get drunk some more?"

"No, now come on baby."

Alex followed Jack out to the car, it was a warm summer night. Jack opened the sunroof in his car and slipped a blink-182 CD into the CD drive.

"Alex I'm worried about you," he said as he pulled out of the driveway. "All you do is eat, drink beer and sleep."

Alex cough and corrected his boyfriend "No, sometimes I clean your house."

"Only when you're on the edge of crying and cutting agian Alex, I know. I saw them the other day. You can't solve all your problems by slitting your wrists open. No matter how much you think it helps. It only makes the ones around you worry. Worry so much it puts them on the brink of madness."

"Jack.. please stop." Alex tried to say through the tears. "You don't understand. You never lost May or Joe. They're still there for you, still helping you when you ask for it." Alex paused and cried for a few seconds straight. "Jack I can't do this anymore. I-I need someone who's there for me like Dan was.."

"ALEX I'VE NEVER LEFT YOU. WHEN" Jack paused taking a breath and calming himself down. "When I left for those months it's because you said you needed time to think. I gave you all the time you needed. I'll always be there for you. You know that. I love you."

"Jacky.. The other night I had an idea for a song. It's only a few lines, but it makes me cry almost every time I even think about it."

Jack took Alex's hand and he whispered "Sing it to me."

"Lexy.. That was beautiful. I love when you sing. Expecially when I can hear the emotion in your voice." Jack said grinning but feeling bad at the same time. "Is there anything I can do to help you baby?"


"Jack, just love me... please... be there when I need you."
