Chapter Thirty-Two: Stay Together For The Kids

As I got downstairs, I was greeted by my mum opening the door.

"Oh, hey." His mum says loudly, and Alex cringes.

"Mum, Jack is sleeping, could you, y'know, keep it down? He's...ugh, he's had a lot of shit been going on, and he's only at peace when he's sleeping." Alex sigh, rubbing his forehead, moving the weak strands that fell in his face. Her mouth makes a 'o' shape in realisation, and she nods. She makes her way to the kitchen and Alex walks over to the living room and plops (A/N I don't even know if that's a word, but it is now because I said so) down on the settee. Alex instantly turns the TV on, putting Adventure Time on.

It had been three hours of watching TV before he decides to go upstairs to check on Jack. He walks upstairs quietly in case Jack was still sleep; which was likely after someone has a panic attack. As he reaches his room, he opens the door, finding Jack's back against the wall, his knees up to his chest and looking to the side.

"Jack?" Alex asks, quietly closing the door behind him. Jack looks up, his eyes puffy and pink, nearly the same colours as his cheeks. He doesn't say anything, just stares at Alex, kind of like he's zoning out. Alex walks over to Jack, his head down until he reaches Jack. He gets on the bed, laying against the pillows.

"Come here." Alex sighs softly, not in a bad way, he was just worried about his boyfriend. Jack snaps his head to Alex, where he was just looking at the bedroom door. He sniffed, crawling over to Alex on his fours and clasps on his chest, beginning to cry again. Alex wrapped his hands around him, rubbing his back like yesterday, and kissed his hair.

"W-Why can't life b-be good?" Jack whispers, his arms around his waist;something he grew fond of.

"I don't know, Jack. I really don't. But remember I will always be with you, okay? No matter what happens." Alex rests his head on Jack's looking over at the wall. The boy in his arms is so broken and terrified. It honestly breaks Alex's heart knowing that he can't promise things will get better.

"My life is so s-shit. Why can't I be like you?" He sniffed again, his hand releasing from Alex's waist and to his nose.

"Because we're all different, Jack. I don't have the perfect life, and neither does anyone else, believe it or not. You've just got to see past all the trouble that's covering all the happy stuff in life. I really want to remove that cover with you, because I know deep down, you are very happy, even if you don't know it. I've seen you smile, and, for a second, the cover moves slightly. Just know that I am going to help you through whatever's going through your head, okay? Because you mean so much to me, Jack." Alex picks up Jack's chin, ignoring his wet nose and pink cheeks, but look straight in his eyes.

"You just need to let me in more often, I will try to help you. I will help you, because I'm not gonna give up on you.You mean so much to me." Alex says, looking down at Jack's lips, leaning in slowly. He was about to close the gap between them until Jack spoke up quietly.

"Why?"

Alex smiled.

"Because you do, Jack. You may not understand why, but I know you mean a lot to me. You're so perfect, even if you don't see it yourself." Alex caught Jack's lips, kissing them gently in no need to rush. Jack kissed back shyly, noting how his belly had that weird feeling to it. Alex brought his hands up to Jack's cheek, cupping them. He felt like he could stay like this forever. He didn't even care how cliche it sounded. He knew Jack's previous thoughts were lost just by the way his lips moved. He knew Jack felt at ease when his lips were on his, and he felt the same way. He felt his own stress and worry slip, and brought with care, love and happiness. All the things Jack needed were in that kiss, but of course, they had to part away to catch their breathes, the kiss lasting longer because of the innocence.

"Alex," Jack breathed out quietly, looking at his boyfriend through his fringe.

"Yeah?" Alex asks, moving Jack's fringe away from his eyes, earning a duck of the head with a blush from Jack. But that's when Jack looked back up at Alex, nervously.

"I- you know I have to go back to my d-dad, right? He'll, he'll be mad a-and probably destroyed the house. If he finds out I'm here, he'll hurt you and your family, I-I really don't want that. I'd rather he takes his anger out on me sooner instead of finding me and hurting all of us." Jack says with fear in his eyes. Alex couldn't even believe what Jack was saying. He didn't want Jack to go back there, he made if clear last time. But what if Jack's dad does find Jack and hurt Alex's family?

"Jack, are you sure about this?" He asks.

"Sooner the better. I-I'll try to get back? I don't know what I'm going to do when I do return home." Jack admitted, now worrying more as he didn't plan this through. He just wanted to get home and stop his dad from going on a hunt for him, because he knows he will. He's done it before, but Jack wasn't staying at someone else's house. He was living in a bush, on the mucky, filthy ground. His dad had came up, one of his guns in his hands. But luckily, Jack made it home with no bullets in his body, but tons of bruises, gazes and cuts all over his body.

"I really don't want you to go back there." Alex says sadly, reaching over and hugging Jack tight as if it's the last time he'll see him. And, what if it is the last time?

"I know you don't, and I don't, but I'm doing this for yours and your family's sake." Jack hugged back, feeling more tears in the back of his eyes. He's cried so much in his life, it's becoming a regular thing.

"Can you at least call me to tell me things are alright?" Alex asks against Jack's neck, lips brushing against it. Jack nodded immediately.

"O-Of course." Jack says and Alex kisses his cheek before connecting their lips again. He felt even more worried than before, worried that he could lose Jack. He doesn't know Jack's dad, but he knows he's a harsh, evil man -more like a monster. In all honestly, he didn't want to take his lips off Jack, but he had to.

"Jack, I um, sorry if I'm rushing this out, or saying it at the wrong time... But I love you, okay?" Alex tries to keep a smile, rubbing his nose against Jack's, trying to get a smile on Jack's face. And it worked, Jack let out a small chuckle with a smile.

"I love you, too." And that felt great to say. They were the first time he has ever used them three words. Alex chuckled, kissing Jack on the nose before hugging him tightly.

"Do you, do you have to leave now?" Alex asks, releasing the hug, tints of sadness showing through his voice. Jack nodded sadly, keeping his eyes on Alex's.

"I'll text you, though." Jack promises.

"If you don't text me by ten tonight, I am going over there." Alex said seriously. He won't allow no one to hurt his Jack, no one. Jack nodded, smiling as he attached his hands to Alex's sides. The younger gasped, fidgeting around, trying to get Jack off.

"Jack, I don't like- oh my god- b-being tickled." Alex pants, reaching down for Jack's wrists, pulling Jack on top of him.

"Stop, you." Alex huffed, making a fish face where his cheeks puff out. Jack giggled, trying to get his wrists off Alex.

"Aleeex, let go." Jack pouted, trying to get his wrists out off Alex's grip again. Alex shook his head, bringing Jack's hands over his his head and Jack leaned down, Alex meeting him halfway, tilting his head. Their lips pressed lightly together. Jack wanted more, but Alex took his lips off seconds after.

"Are you sure you'll be okay?" He asks, finally letting go off Jack's hands. Jack kept his hands at Alex's head, nodding.

"I've handled him before." Jack sighs. Alex bites his lip.

"Okay, well um, I'll walk you out." He shows a small smile while Jack climbs off him. They get up, Alex reaching for Jack's hand. Jack blushes as he intertwined his fingers with Alex's. Alex lead the way down the stairs, walking past his mum who gave them a weird, but adored expression.

Alex opened the door for Jack, letting go of his hand. Jack stepped outside, already feeling the cold wind. He turned around looking at Alex.

"Be safe, Alex." He smiles, Alex finding it adorable.

"You should be saying that to yourself. Are you sure you're gonna be okay? If you don't text me, I'm going down to your house and- wait, where do you live?" he chuckles, even though nothing about what he said was funny. Expect maybe the fact he doesn't know where Jack lives and they've been dating for nearly a month now.

"Number 54. Don't worry, I'll be fine." He sighs, knowing that he can't be so sure if he will.

"Okay, well, goodbye?" He sighs, "I really don't want you to go back there. If he's gonna flip out really badly, I want you to come he-"

"I'll be okay." Jack interrupts, hugging Alex and giving him a peck on the lips.

"Night, Alex." Jack says, turning around from Alex and walking out Alex's little front garden.

"Yeah, night, Jack."

@Twat

oh Damn, sorry. Aldemar died because Jack had did what his father had done... Like, Jack had basically died for a moment, so Aldemar died and never came back when Jack did. I don't know if that makes sense. Maybe I should've included that.
