Immaculate Misconception

It was in the December 25th when a woman named, Daniella Flyzik, came by the asylum to talk to Sister Elise about what happened to her brother. He asked who was Matthew’s friends with, and if he had any enemies that might be a suspect to the horrendous crime that was placed upon her younger brother.

She came up on me later that afternoon, "Alexander Gaskarth?"

I nodded slowly, looking down to avoid eye contact with her.

"Can I speak to you, please? In the sun room?" She continued, I nodded once again, and followed her up the sun room, leading her to the couch where me and Matthew used to stay at.

She took a small chair and sat in front of me, "Alexander, do you know who would do this to my brother?"

I refused to talk to her, so I shook my head 'no' to answer her question.

"What's the matter? Don't you talk?" She asked, and once again, I shook my head 'no'.

"No, as in, no I don't talk, or 'no' as is, yes, I do talk?"

"I can talk," I said softly, my voice almost cracking from lack of practice. She smiled at me and nodded, leaning back to her chair and sighing,

"My name's Daniella Fl--"

"I know who you are. I heard you." I whispered,

"Heard me? Where?" Daniella asked,

"You're here for Matthew and Sister Elise told you I was friends with him."

"I--"

"I didn't do it, you know. If that's what Sister Elise told you."

"She didn't tell me anything." She quickly said, as she hesitantly put her hands on my forearms for comfort. "I just want to know what happened right before my brother died. Surely this wasn't random, and the murderer wasn't from outside the asylum. Right?"

I thought for a second, yes, it could be one of the patients, but all the guards are awake all evening to keep a close eye to the patients and the buildings. It could be a guard, or it could be the doctors?

My eyes widened at the sudden thought, of course! A doctor! The only doctor Matthew had a disagreement with was..

"Dr. Merrick," I whispered.

"What?" Daniella asked, leaning closer to hear what I just said,

"It could be Dr. Merrick. Because the day before Matthew died, he accused Dr. Merrick of raping me. Well, he really did do it, and Matthew knew all about it. We tried telling Sister Elise, but she let the issue go." I explained, thinking of the past events that happened before Matthew's death.

"Do you mean... the doctor? The doctor killed my brother?! The one that greeted me in Sister Elise's office?!" Daniella yelled, standing up, completely outraged.

"Daniella, sit down and lower your voice!" I whispered at her, grabbing her arm and sitting her down once again, if Sister Elise finds out that I was the one telling Daniella about what happened, I will be in so much trouble.

"I'm sorry, Alexander." She said, quickly standing up and leaving the scene. There was no point in telling her to stop; I will be in a huge trouble anyway.

"So you were the one who told Ms. Flyzik about what happened to her brother?" Sister Elise said, tightening the strap on Alex's feet,

They were currently in the shock treatment room, readying Alex for his first shock therapy.

"Please, please Sister, I won't do it again, I swear, please don't do this! Let me go. Please, I beg of you." Alex pleaded desperately; his eyes brimmed of tears falling endlessly. His arms and legs were bound; his head was forced to steady itself.

"Na-ah, Mr. Gaskarth. I don't think so, you see, after this, I don't think you'll be remembering anything at all. Yeah?" Sister Elise said, as she inserts a rubber block in Alex's mouth to prevent him from biting. Next was a conducting jelly is rubbed on the temples, she placed two metal plates on either side of his head.

"Don't worry Mr. Gaskarth, everyone's scared to death in their first time. Oh, and before I forget, Merry Christmas."

Alex was breathing heavily; his eyes were sore from crying so hard, he kept whining and inaudibly plead for the nun to stop. He saw her nod at the doctor beside Alex,

Alex shut his eyes; there was a brief silence, like an indrawn breath. Then the doctors bent down and took hold of him, and then it started. A wheezing sounded through his ears. He could feel it, it shrilled through an air crackling in blue light, and with each flash, a great jolt drubbed Alex until he thought his bones would break.

The sap fly out of Alex like a spilt plant. It stopped, the sound in his ears, but the burning feeling of lightning was still evident in his flesh. He couldn't see anything, or he just can't feel his eyes open. Everything was in hyper speed and slow motion at the same time.

"What the hell are you doing?!" He heard Daniella say, then everything went dark.

"Alexander, you have to talk to me." Daniella said, we were in the sun room, I wanted to speak to her but I could feel a certain force stopping me from talking.

"Would you like me to call someone for you?"

"No need to, lady. I can handle this." A voice came from behind Daniella, Jack.

"J-j-j... J-jack?!" I stammered, if they would ask me, I thought it took me at least three minutes to say that word.

"Yes, Alex, I'm here.. Don't worry. What happened?" Jack asked, sitting down beside me on the couch, and putting his arm on my shoulders, bringing me to his chest. He moved his hand up and down my back, slowly and gently, it was the most comforting thing to feel.

"I-i... I w-w-was.." I tried to tell Jack, but failed. I still can't find the energy to speak.

"Shush, princess. Don't hurt yourself. You can explain when you're all better, okay?" Jack said softly, as I nuzzled my nose to his chest. I loved his scent.

"He was electrocuted. By the nun." I heard Daniella said,

"What?" Jack said, anger was apparent in his tone. His body tensed at the mention of Sister Elise. "Elise did this?"

"Yes, it's only because Alexander told me what happened the days before my brother died."

"Your brother.... Matthew?"

"Yes, my name's Daniella Flyzik. Matthew's my little brother." Daniella faintly smiled at her words.

"So this was your entire fault then?!" Jack stood up and faces Daniella,

"J-jack, p-p-pl...p-please. S-stop." I managed to say, and he quickly sat back down when he saw that I was trying so hard to talk.

"I'm gonna break every goddamn bone in your body." Jack hissed through gritted teeth as he caressed my thin frame. Giving me a kiss on the head.
