Chapter inspiration: A Party Song (The Walk of Shame) – All Time Low
Victoria took a bite of the hamburger in her hand as she leaned down to grab a beer from the cooler. When she started to stand, she felt the impact of a foot to her butt, and she stood with a frown. She shoved the culprit while scoffing, “I fucking hate you, you know that?”
Alex only smirked and shrugged his shoulders. “I’ve heard it a couple of times.”
“You want a beer or are you going to try to knock me in the cooler again?”
“Yes, and I also have something for you to do.”
She stood and handed him a bottle. “Which is?”
“I need you to meet me by the tour bus in an hour. I have something to tell you.” He smiled mischievously, making Victoria lift her brow.
“So the thing you had to tell me was that you need to tell me something in an hour?”
“Exactly,” he pointed in her direction as he walked away backwards.
She rolled her eyes. “You’re making me curious, Gaskarth. You know that never ends well.”
“Curiouser and curiouser, Hamilton.” He winked, and caused her to laugh.
She took a seat back next to Tay and Jenna, trying to get back into the conversation they were having. It was that moment that she looked up to see the stare Lisa was giving Alex as he passed her to talk with another fellow band.
And as much as she tried not to think about it, it seemed to be all that clouded in her brain for the next hour.

Victoria stood from her seat and waved away to Jenna and Tay when she noticed the next hour had arrived. She could no longer spot Alex near the small party, leaving her to think he already left to wait for her. She took her beer with her, knowing that whatever this was, she was probably going to need to get drunk after it. Alex was never one to keep secrets, so this was obviously going to be big. After this observation, she took another large gulp of her Sam Adams.
Jack spotted her walking away from the lot, knowing where she was going. Wasn’t this the night Alex was going to tell her? He looked around for his friend, noticing him and another important female not at the party. “Oh, shit,” he mumbled under his breath while he tried to sprint after Victoria. Seeing as he was a bit drunk, this made things more difficult.
He finally got to her, standing in her way and causing her to halt. She stared at him questionably as she asked, “Is there something you―?”
“Wh―where are you going?” He stumbled over his words as he looked at her with crazed eyes.
Victoria wasn’t stupid; she knew the alcohol was talking for her guitarist friend. “I’m going to see Alex.”
“Why?!”
“Because he asked me to,” she looked at him as if it were obvious. “What’s up with the grill, Barakat? Had too much to drink already?”
“I do―don’t know what you’re―”
She pushed him out of her path. “Just get the fuck out of my way, bro.”
He tried to call after her, but the alcohol consuming him made it literally impossible to chase. So he stood there, watching one of the most beautiful girls walk away from him.

Victoria almost had half her bottle downed by the time she reached the first lot where the ATL bus was parked. She was a little tipsy, but not as much as Jack was. She could speak in full sentences and she tripped over her feet only twice, so she wasn’t anywhere where she wanted to be yet.
She heard voices as she rounded the corner of the bus. Was Alex drunk enough to be talking to himself? Hmm, she thought, Alex spilling something while he was drunk would be better than if he was sober.
She walked to the edge of their bus, spotting Alex but also another person too.
They managed to see her as soon as her feet hit the pavement close to them, pulling their lips apart from each other. “Oh, hey, Victoria.” Lisa smiled, letting go of Alex’s shirt where he was pressed against the bus.
The bottle instantly dropped from her hands and to the ground below.
She really should’ve stayed back with Jack.
