Holding On To Keep This Strong

Beginnings Beginnings...

Alex walked into his new class, quite excited unlike the majority of the school. He was eager for his first year of teaching, he hadn't spent that long in school since he was now twenty three and already teaching a senior level English class. He had two years of AP English and many summer journalism courses to thank for that. If he'd spent another year in college he probably would've killed someone.
The lectures were boring, the courses were stupid, in short College didn't suit the brunette.
He entered the classroom to see nearly all of the seats filled and smiled. He'd gotten famaliar with his classroom over the summer, decorating it to his liking. He'd even deticated a corner of the room to 'music helping education' and plastered posters of his own favorite bands around it. If his students didn't appreciate that then he wouldn't know what to do with them the rest of the year.
Alex sat at his desk and leaned back in his chair, observing the students that were seated and chatting away with each other along with those who entered the room. From first glance they looked to be a good batch of kids and he hoped they lived up to his conjecture. The twenty three year old stood up when the bell rang and smiled at his students, excitement not returned my any of their faces.
"Hi guys, in case you didn't pay attention to your schedule I'm Mr. Gaskarth, but you all can call me Alex. The whole Mr. thing makes me feel old. Anyways I know its the first day back from break and it sucks so I'm gonna take it easy on you guys. We're gonna play a name game so I can get to know you guys. Everybody get up."
His students exchanged blank looks but followed his command anyways.
A tall lanky boy with dark black hair with streaks of blonde in his bangs raised his hand and Alex nodded at him.
"Uhm...can I go to the bathroom?"
"Sure, just give me your first and last name, age, and your favorite...band then you can go."
"Okay, Jack Barakat, seventeen, Blink-182. " the black and blonde haired teen smiled at the Blink shirt his teacher was wearing and nodded.
"Good music taste Barakat." Alex said returning the smile, he wasn't going to lie that kid was really cute and his smile...well teachers shouldn't melt over such things. "Alright who's next?"
...
Alex smiled, he liked his first period class, all of the kids were relatively nice, quite a few kids had good music taste but as much as Alex hated to admit it he'd already developed a class favorite, and that was without even seeing the boy's work. Maybe then he'd change his mind about a class favorite, but he had a feeling he wouldn't.
He sighed contenedly, he had nothing to do other than supervise a sixth period study hall- which most students wouldn't be attending since they were able to leave campus during lunch and study hours- until ninth period when he had his other class to teach. Apparently this year there was a lack of Seniors taking the AP level of English making his day relatively laxed. He still had to go through the note cards his first period class had written out but that would be a breeze and he was only grading the note card being turned in at the end of class, easy.
Alex picked up the small stack of note cards, there were only about twenty four kids in his first period class so reading through the note cards and writing commentary on them , probably the easiest thing he'd do all year.
"Might as well get started." He mumbled to himself and reached out for a felt tip pen.
-
"How's Gaskarth? We've got him ninth period." Rian said through a mouth full of nachos at lunch, gesturing to the other members of the table that were dumb enough to sign up for an AP course.
"Babe, close your mouth. That's gross." Casadee scolded and rolled her eyes at her boyfriend.
"He's pretty cool. Way younger than any of the other teachers here and he came to school in like skinnies and a Blink tee. If he weren't for sure going to turn into a prick by the end of the semester I'd be in love." Jack smiled and let out a small laugh. He thought his new teacher was hot , discheveled brown hair with honey blonde streaks and his body was perfectly shown off by his firm fitting clothes, if Alex Gaskarth were a student here Jack would've gladly gotten together with him. Too bad his cool attitude wouldn't last.
"How're you so sure?"
"Every new teacher turns into a dick by the end of first semester. I've yet to see one who hasn't."
"I'll bet you twenty he won't." Rian stated teasingly.
"Alright, fine. Anyone else wanna join the bets?"
"He'll be a dick. It happens to the best of them." Zack chimed in.
"You guys are idiots." Cass chuckled as she got up to throw away the remains of her food. Jack made his way to his studyhall room, it looked pretty empty but he'd rather stay on campus instead of sitting being bored at the skate park with Zack. He opened the door and strode in and looked around, there was only one other student in the room, he looked over to the front desk and there he was, Mr. Gaskarth was sitting at the desk with his nose shoved in a book. He had to admit his teacher looked really cute lost in his own world but he shouldn't have thought that...right? He hadn't had a crush on a teacher since like third grade and that was only due to Mrs. Johansen giving him an extra cookie at snack time.
Jack shook his head and let the thoughts roll off of his mind, he sat relatively close to the front of the room and told himself it wasn't because he wanted to be close to his teacher but the slight blush that crept into his cheeks when Alex looked at him said otherwise.
The teacher smiled at him and that was it, Jack was going to die right there, he wasn't sure exactly what the cause was but he'd have that god damn beautiful teacher to blame for it.
"Hey, Jack right?" the teacher asked as he put down his book and looked directly at the teen.
"Y-yeah." He said with a slight smile in attempt to act like everything was completely normal.
"Oh..." Alex gasped as though he'd come to a realization then scrambled around the things he'd brought with him from his class room, making Jack even more nervous. "I finished reading through your class's note cards. Can I give you your's back now?"
The teen internally sighed in relief and nodded. Alex stood up and took the short walk to Jack's desk and handed him his notecard.
When Alex turned around to go back to his desk Jack couldn't help but stare at the older man's ass...and he knew he was hooked.
This school year was about to get really interesting.

Okay I normally cringe at student/teacher fics, but cuz it's a 6 year age difference, I gave it a shot. This story is so great! The ending is beautiful. My eyes are watering. Not even kidding.
