Deer In The Headlights

Jack's p.o.v

"Nowhere. I'm going to cheer you up." He said gleefully. Those words made my heart melt. He was going to actually put some time in making me happy? That's so cute.

He got out his phone and used his fingers to swipe to get to what he wanted. I sat there smiling blissfully. Alex looked up to me and smiled before pressing something on his iPhone. Instantly, Jimmy Eat World, The Middle started playing. I nearly had a heart attack from the excitement inside me. I haven't heard music since I've been in here; which is painful. Alex started humming along to the start before talking over it.

"I'll be back in half an hour." He smiled. What? Where was he going? I fake smiled back to him and nodded. He was leaving this soon? He placed his phone next to me and told me to change it if I didn't like the song. He said it was on shuffle anyway. He slowly walked out my room. I sat there and sighed. I wonder when he's going to be back.

Alex's p.o.v.

I walked out of Jack's room and headed straight to the reception. I smiled as I saw Mary.

"Hey, Mary?" I asked for her attention. She kindly looked up from the computer, and smiled to me.

"Yeah?"

"Am I aloud a half an hour break? I just got to go somewhere." I asked, praying that she'll let me go. She's a great friend; I've known her for years. We even used to go school together. So of course, she let me go. I thanked her and shuffled out the hospital. I saw some sad faces on the way ;which made me put a sympathized look on. I jogged to my black car and got in. I clapped my hands together and put my keys in to start it. I reversed out the hospital parking lot and drove home.
Once I grabbed somethings from home, I put them in the backseat and started my car again.

This time I stopped at the local corner shop and searched for some snacks. I brought some crisps, chocolates, candy and some healthy stuff, before paying. I know what you're thinking 'but you're a doctor, aren't you suppose to give your patients just healthy food?' The answer is: No. I'm not one of the stereotypical doctors who tells you what's right to eat and what's not. I'm just laid back. I hope it doesn't effect Jack's health though, it's doing really good so far. But I'm quite sure the hospital won't aloud me to bring food in to patients. So I'll have to stash them in something and turn into a ninja.
