If These Sheets Were States

Jack retreated back into the bathroom and took a few deep breaths. Why was he so scared? It was only Alex! He felt like how he did when they'd first met; shy, nervous and slightly sick. he pulled on the pair of clean boxers he'd brought in with him and crept back to the door. Nothing was different. He could still only see one of Alex's feet. He closed his eyes and took a long, slow breath. Damn, he was shitting himself! He made the quick decision to rip of the metaphorical band-aid and stepped quickly and quietly into the bedroom. In front of him was a softly-snoring Alex, lying sprawled out on the double bed with his face tilted towards Jack, wearing nothing but a pair of skin-tight black boxers. His cheeks were squished and his mouth hung open slightly, but Jack thought he looked adorable. The younger boy stepped over to the bed and carefully, so not to wake the elder, lay down next to him. He swiftly planted a gentle kiss onto Alex's cheek and watched as the sleeping boy's face turned upwards into a small smile. Alex's eyes began to twitch and a grin spread across both boys' faces as Alex awoke from his slumber.

"Wakey wakey, sleepy head," Jack spoke softly, "I missed you."

Alex hummed quietly in response. Suddenly, his eyes jerked open violently in immediate realization.

"JACK!" He cried, throwing himself on top of the boy and giving him a death squeeze, "I've missed you so much, Jacky!"

Jack beamed and gripped his partner even tighter as a few tears tricked down their cheeks.

"It feels like forever, Lex," Jack mumbled, "It hasn't been the same without you here." He was full on bawling like a baby now.

"If only these sheets were states..." Alex muttered quietly, softly stroking the younger boy's hair.

"Huh?" Jack replied.

"If these sheets were the states,
And you were miles away,
I'd fold them end over end,
To bring you closer to me,
Because I don't sleep at all,
Without you pressed up against me..."Alex sung delicately into Jack's hair, tears streaming down his cheeks. Jack whimpered slightly and pulled Alex closer, forcing their lips together into a rough kiss. Alex smirked against Jack's lips and kissed him back, putting all of his pent up emotions and hormones into the pressure he was applying to his boyfriend's mouth. Jack gasped for air and then rejoined their kiss, only this time with more passion and hunger. Alex gave back just as good as he was getting from jack and bit at the taller boy's lip, making he moan into Alex's parted mouth. Alex giggled and pulled him towards his chest.

"I missed this. I missed you. I missed this bed. I missed," He inhaled deeply whist burrowing his face into Jack's bare chest, "Your smell." Alex blushed and giggled again. Jack nearly laughed.

"Do you not think that I haven't either?" He chuckled, "I've been stuck in a house with my parents doing all the things you'd normally do!" Alex laughed.

"You're silly," He said, kissing Jack's cheek, "You rely on me too much." But Alex wasn't being mean and Jack knew that and allowed the boy to settle underneath his arm, looking at his content partner's face with a smirk.

"You look so peaceful laying there." He stated, brushing some hair from Alex's eyes as said boy turned up to face him.

"And you look so adorable looking at me like that," Alex said, turning over and settling down to sleep, "Come on. You too, Jack. Sleepy time." But Jack was already curled up behind me, waiting for Alex to get into baby-spoon mode so that he could fall asleep properly for the first time since Alex left 3 days ago.

Alex woke very quickly. His heart was racing and he had sweat pouring down his face. He started to panic. What the hell was wrong with him?! He slipped form Jack's arms and silently went to the kitchen. He took some aspirin and had a glass of ice cold water. He still felt the pounding head ache that had made itself present a few weeks back, when his boss had started to pressure him into going onto the course, but this was worse than ever! He could literally feel the heat radiating from his forehead and the skin on his face was bright red. Alex closed his eyes and took a deep breath, it's just stress, he told himself, it's nothing to worry about. But he knew, in the back of his head that it was something a lot more complicated than it seemed on the surface.

Jack felt Alex slide under his arm in the the middle of the night and got curious. Where'd he been? He pulled his boyfriends closer and listened as he sighed gently. Alex's skin was awfully hot to touch and it made Jack worry. Had that got anything to do with why Alex had been up? Jack tuned Alex's face towards his own and kissed him quickly.

"Everything okay, babe?" He asked, his large eyebrows furrowed in concern.

"I'm fine..." Alex mumbled and turned back away from Jack. Both boys sighed. Jack was puzzled. He could tell something was up but he didn't want to add to it by asking him a lead of questions at 3 am. He snuggled up against Alex and closed his eyes. Alex would tell him what was wrong when he felt like he needed to. Until then, Jack would have to make himself seem as though he hadn't noticed so that Alex wouldn't worry an further.

Sorry this took forreeveeeerrr to update, I've been super busy with college and assignments have to come first I'm afraid, but it's here now so enjoy. Updates should be coming more regularly because summer is coming and I do jack-shit over summer so hopefully it won't take 3 months for the next chapter :)
