I'm intoxicated by the lie.

Here in the echos, madness grows.

~Jack's POV~
I'm so scared to be without Alex now, I was so scared when the thing bit him. I didn't know how much it hurt him, but I could tell it hurt a lot considering how loud he screamed. I looked up to see Alex drifting off and decided it's time to go ask some questions.
I wriggled out of his grasp and placed a blanket over him before walking out of my room and into the one across the hall. I saw the room just as I left it those few years ago.
The crystal ball was still on the table with the black velvet cloth on it, the three red high-backed chairs in the same spots they were left in, and candle stands littering the room. I touched the back of my chair, holding back tears as the events of that night came flooding back. The possession, the fear, the freedom, the loss.
I held back the tears as I sat in my chair and touched the ball. "Please come quickly." I whispered. Around the room, candles flickered to life. I smiled weakly as I felt a blanket of calm settle over me. "Hey grandpa, I need some help." I said weakly, looking to the chair to my right.
I saw a shadow flicker in the seat, becoming more prominent. "Jack my boy! Me and your grandmother were becoming worried. You haven't been here in ages, what's going on?" My grandfather asked, appearing in a ghostly blue mist in the chair.
"Nothing, it's just something happened tonight." I said leaning forward and putting my head into my hands. "What happened Jack?" My grandfather said looking around the room. "H-He came back." I said looking up at him. He frowned, looking down. He sighed and stood up.
"You won't need just me Jacky. Your gran needs to hear this too." He said walking over one of the candle stands and messing with a flame. "Before I call gran, there's something I need to tell you. T-There's a boy and h-he made him go away earlier." I said biting my bottom lip.
My grandfather turned around and looked at me with a calm expression. "Jack, there's more I need to tell you. You're more than a medium, you're a-" He was cut short by my mom bursting in the room.
"Jack! What're you doing in here?!" She said hurrying over to me, putting both of her hands on either sides of my face. "M-Mom, I'm fine. I'm talking to gramps." I said gesturing over to where he was standing. She sighed and smiled, looking up to where I was gesturing. "Jack, you know I can't see him. Tell me what happened and why you're in here." She said sitting in the chair that gramps was previously sitting in.
I sighed and told her the whole story, figuring I'd kill two birds with one stone. Mom sighed after the story and rubbed her temples. "Jack, j-just be careful this time. We can't lose you." She said getting up and walking towards the door. "Go to bed after you're done Jack, okay?" She said looking at me. I nodded and smiled as she walked out the door.
"Go get some sleep bud. You can introduce Alex to me and your gran tomorrow." Gramps said as the candles began going out. "Later gramps." I said quietly as I walked back to my room.
~Twisted's POV~
I crawled back into the portal in the raven haired boy's closet. I knew my master would be displeased that I couldn't get him to share his body with me. "Twisted!" I heard a voice bellow as I walked down the narrow tunnel to hell, literally. "Yes master?" I hissed.
"Were you able to persuade the boy?" He said as I neared him. I lifted my chin and said "Master, I was unsuccessful in persuade this one. He's becoming stronger than we ever thought, now he has another boy with him. This one's name is Alex from what I've gathered and he is not the average church boy. He has a strong force field around him so to speak, do you know of whom I'm speaking of?" I asked as I bowed respectfully to him. He snarled and shook his head. "Of course you ignorant fool, Iknow everyone. I should've sent your brother you fool! If anyone could get this job done, it'd be him!" He bellowed.
I may not be able to see, but I could sense a crowd of other demons growing around us. "Master, I can do this. You will reclaim your old body if it's the last thing I do." I said Bowing once more and walking out.
