Proposal (Alex POV)
Alex POV
“Jaaaack! When will you be ready?” I groaned. I was ready to leave for my daily walk with Baz but he was fumbling around with some papers.
“Just a second babe,” he said. He finally found what he was searching for and smacked it onto the counter. It was some form (once again, there were about 3,000 forms in this shelter). He filled out some things, signed it and put it into a file.
“Good to go!” he said as he grabbed his jacket. It was still quite cold outside but the first few flowers were already breaking through the ice. Baz was as excited as always and jumped up and down. He was such an adorable little dog. And I had a plan…
We started walking my usual round with the only difference today being that Jack was with me and Baz. He was with us because I wanted to tell him about a wish I had. We reached a clearing and I decided now was the time to tell him.
“Jack? Hold on a second, I’d like to tell you something,” I said. I was very nervous but I had rehearsed these words so many times now. Jack turned around to face me. We were still holding hands and he swung our hands from one side to the other.
“Okay. So, I had an idea. I don’t know whether you will like it but I know that Baz and I will like it,” I started. Jack smiled at me. “I would like to take Baz to me. Adopt him,” I breathed out.
Nervously, I awaited his response. He thought about it for some time but then a smile lit up his face and he nodded.
“Sounds perfect. As long as I still get to see you…” he said with a wink.
I jumped in the air and squealed while Baz ran around our feet and barked. I was the happiest I had been in weeks. Jack kissed me and hugged me. We made our way back to the shelter, me and Baz practically jumping with every step.
I had already bought the necessary things for Baz so Jack only had to give me his sleeping blanket and his favourite leash and we were good to go. I kissed Jack before I drove off.
This had been such a good idea. I needed to thank my therapist.
