Don't Let the Sound of Your Own Wheels Make You Crazy

After hanging with Zack and ALex for the next three hours, Jack decided Zack was cool. Cooler than anyone else Alex had asked him to meet thus far.

"Did you like him?" Alex anxiously asks, climbing into his car.

"Zack?"

"Yes Zack, you dumbass."

Jack shoots him a grin. "Zack was awesome, he seemed like he would get along with my friend Rian really well."

Alex nods. "Well, I'm glad you liked Zack numero uno, because the other one is not as nice." Jack raises an eyebrow. "Zack, the one you just met is my producer and manager. Zack, the other one you'll meet pretty much manages all my public stuff and he is not so great."

"Oh." Jack frowns. He didn't really want to meet whoever this Zack 2 was.

"Well, anyway . . ." Alex trails off. "Wanna go out for dinner? My treat?"

"Sure," Jack agrees, shooting a grin the the caramel haired man, who returns the sentiment just as quick.

Alex climbs out of the seat and crawls to the console and chats with his driver a bit before telling him where he should head. The man says a quick yes and winks at Alex offering a knowing grin.

After around fifteen minutes of driving around, they finally reach a little Italian restaurant that stood out among the closed stores surrounding it. Alex practically climbs over Jack to get the door open fo him, only causing Jack to laugh at him.

"You try so hard to be chivalrous, but you can tone it down any time 'lex. I can open a car door by myself." Jack smiles at Alex, who is staring at his feet with a bright blush.
The two get out of the car and the drier pulls away, going to park or whatever it was he did when they got out of the car. Alex takes Jack's hand awkwardly and pulls him into the restaraunt where a hostess gladly takes them to a table. Once they're seated the woman's face suddenly flashes with recognition and her eyes go wide.

"You're Alex Gaskarth!" She gasps, reaching a hand up to cover her mouth. "My sister and I are huge fans. Do you mind if I take a picture with you?" Alex shrugs and smiles at her, earning a squeal of delight. She takes out her phone and hurries around the table to take the selfie with Alex.

Soon the restaurant is buzzing with activity as everyone recognizes Alex and demands autographs or pictures. Jack was becoming visibly annoyed, he just wanted to have dinner with his boyfriend, but ALex just continued to smile and hug people or sign things. Jack thinks he might go mad if he got recognized literally everywhere he went. Finally everyone returns to their respective meals and the boys are allowed to place their orders.
"How can you deal with that?" Jack asks, crinkling his nose.

"Deal with what?" Alex asks, not seeming phased by the actions of moments before.

"With . . . people?" Jack says.

"You get used to it. Well, maybe you won't, but you're more of a reclusive person."

"Hey!" Jack exclaims. "I can be very social when I want to. I've just been stuck for a while!"

"I'll believe it when I see it." Alex gives him that stupid arrogant smirk and Jack wants to punch him so bad right now.

The two's dinners are brought to them and the meal passes in silence as Jack attempts to think of a way to get back at Alex for that comment.

"Don't think to hard," Alex jokes as he pays the bill. "I can see smoke coming out of your ears."

"Yeah," Jack mumbles, not paying attention to whatever Alex had said.

Concern floods over Alex. Had he said something wrong in the restaurant? He hadn't recalled saying anything he would consider rude. But, then again, his perception on rudeness was kind of screwed. They stand outside a while in silence until Alex's car finally pulls back up. They climb inside and Alex quickly tells the driver to take the two back to his house.

The car ride is just as silent as dinner, and Alex is definitely worried now.
