Chapter Thirty Three

*Jack POV*

The following Thursday, Jack was sprawled out on Alex's bed whilst the brunette strummed away on his guitar, trying to practice the song he was set for music school. He was stressing out quite a bit, which Jack found adorable. When he missed the fingering again and let out an annoyed huff, Jack decided to intervene. He stood behind Alex, bending over slightly to rest his hair on the older boys shoulders, and placed his hands over Alex's.
"You're trying to do it all with your fingers. Twist your wrist aswell." He told him, demonstrating the transition between the two notes by guiding his hands. Alex frowned as he concentrated as Jack repeated the motion, until he nodded signalling he got it. Jack removed his hands and stood up, stretching his back. Alex murmured something quietly to himself, then tried again. He was a lot closer, but not quite. After attempt two, he sighed and looked pleasingly round at Jack who had now sat down on the bed again.
"Just imagine my hands there as well." He stated simply, with a small shrug. Alex frowned again, closed his eyes and tried the two notes.
"Voila." Jack said with a smile when the right sound came out, and a bright smile spread across Alex's face. The brunette went over the few lines again, his smile getting bigger each time the note sequence came out right. Smiling along with him, Jack lay down on the best content and happy.
Moments later the bed dipped, and Jack opened his eyes to see Alex hovering above him. His brunette hair was hanging down from his face, his brown eyes glowing happily. As a being he was beautiful. In Jack's eyes, a perfect specimen.
"Thanks Jay, you da best." He said happily, planting a quick kiss onto the taller boys nose. Jack grinned happily, still silently admiring the boy above him.
"I know." He replied simply, letting his eyes roam Alex's face, taking in every tiny detail. After giggling adorably, the older boy rolled onto his side so they were lying next to each other. Jack shuffled over a bit so they had more space, but Alex stayed on his side and rested his chin on the lanky boys' boney shoulder anyway.
"So, what are we doing next week?" Alex asked, his voice hinted with nerves. A smirk broke across Jack's face as he remembered what he had in store, hidden away in the plastic bag at the back of his wardrobe. Other than that, he didn't have a clue as to what their day would consist of. All he cared about was spending every possible moment he could with the beautiful brunette next to him.
"What would you like to do?" Jack asked, bringing his hand to the brown hair he adored.
"I dunno. Can we do something cute?" He asked softly, smiling slightly, making his dimples form on his cheeks which were a slight rosey red.
"What do you have in mind?"
"Something cliche and normal. Like a movie and dinner or something. And on Saturday, because there will be people everywhere on Sunday." He said with a small shrug. Jack nodded slowly, perfectly content with that idea.
"Sorted, then." He stated, smiling at the grin that spread across the shorter boys face. Jack just hoped the whole weekend would go to plan.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

It was now Friday, the last day in school before Valentines day, so the usual rituals were occurring. The school had 'cupids day', where gifts that had been brought from the stall throughout the week would be delivered during class time. It was sort of cute, but ridiculously cringe at the same time. Lower down the school would take it so seriously, and be buying their crushes roses and chocolates, then there was the people that sent themselves one so they wouldn't feel like shit, and then the rare couple took it as a cute thing just to do because they could. Jack had considered buying a rose for Alex, but chickened out, unwilling to tell someone from the year above that he was sending a rose to a boy.
Now, the dark haired boy was sitting in his core RE lesson, with Alex on his right, and Jenna on his left. He had his notebook out, his pencil hovering above the blank page in front of him. Nothing seemed to want to be drawn, his mind was cluttered with images and various thoughts of Alex.
"Is it okay if a draw you?" Leaning over, he whispered to the brunette, who gave him a weird look before smiling and nodding eagerly. Jack returned the smile before letting the pencil touch the page. He went for a virtually side of shot, of him performing. Where the image came from, Jack didn't have a clue, but he thought it looked alright.
The outline was just about finished, when the class was interrupted by the door opening. Jack looked up, knowing it would be the 'cupids', eager to see who would be embarrassed. The teacher rolled her eyes, but motioned for them to go ahead. A few people got given chocolates and a really awkward poem was read out to one of the 'tough guys' who looked like he was about to throw someone out of the window. Then as Jack was about to lose interest, thinking they were done, they walked up to his desk, and placed a rose in front of him, and then another in front of Alex. Frowning, Jack's gaze followed them as they left. Surely it was from Alex. So the frown left his face as he turned to looked at the brunette, who looked just as lost as he did. The pair waited until the teacher restarted the lesson, before talking in hushed whispers to each other.
"Did you send this?" Alex asked, picking the rose up in his hand and inspecting it.
"No, I chickened out." He admitted, letting out a small laugh.
"Same." The brunette said, also letting out a chuckle. Both their gazes travelled over the flower, before returning to each other. Jack felt his cheeks heat up slightly, and he noticed Alex's cheeks were their own shade of pink. The brunette was literally the cutest thing on the planet, leaving Jack fighting the urge to press their lips together.
The sound of hands slapping together made Jack make a face of confusion to turn around, to see Tay and Jenna's hands dropping from what seemed to be a hi-five. They both had huge grins on their faces, and when Jenna turned around Jack recognised the twinkle in her eyes.
"What have you done?" He asked, slowly, scared of what the answer would be. Jenna and Tay both looked at him and smiled innocently.
"Nothingggg." Jenna responded, fluttering her eyelids before turning away to look at the front again. Jack frowned at the back of her head for a whole, glanced at Tay, then gave up and looked back to his booklet. He rummaged through his pencil case for the right shade of brown, the one he knew matched Alex's hair perfectly, before setting to work on that. He could sense the brunette watching him, which made his nervous, because it's embarrassing screwing up a picture of someone in front of them. The tall boy spent the rest of the lesson finishing his hair to perfection, and had just started on the detail for the clothing before the bell rang. Alex had a wide smile on his face, and his eyes had watched Jack's every move, and that made him smile back. It was genuinely mental how much Alex meant to him. How much the brunette had changed him - for the better - already. And now he got to spend the whole weekend with him, being all lovey diver and sexy at the same time. Perfect.

The following evening, the pair were leaving Jack's house, heading off to the cinema. The dark haired boy had made a particular effort, spending extra time on his hair and wearing the jeans that he knew made his arse look great. He knew Alex had done the same, his brown hair was shining and his hips swayed gently as he walked, his legs looking longer that normal.
"Stop checking me out." Alex told him, turning around to look at the taller boy with raised eyebrows.
"Then you shouldn't have worn such god damn tight jeans." Jack retorted, pushing the older boy against the car and kissing him roughly. He felt Alex smile into the kiss, happily complying. The dark haired boy smiled as the electricity buzzed around his body, sparking off the butterflies in his stomach. His skin tingled where it met with Alex's, he melted into the touch. These feelings were still relatively new, but he loved them. They made Jack feel like he was on top of the world.
They pulled away and smiled at each other, before clambering into the car and heading off towards the restaurant. Their plan of action was a romantic meal, then catching whatever late night film was showing. Simple, yet hopefully beautiful.
After a short drive they arrived at their chosen restaurant, and parked in the car park down the street, which was opposite the cinema. The sky was a warm pinky red colour, however it wasn't actually very warm, and a slight breeze rustled the trees. Jack happily linked their fingers together for the short walk to the small door that was the entrance. The restaurant was called 'Amore', and was obviously very romance orientated. That unnerved Jack slightly, incase anyone was homophobic and decided to make a big deal out of him and Alex together. The people might not even let them in. That would definitely screw things up.
Taking a deep breath, he let Alex lead them into the building. It was small, quite cozy, the decor was various shades of reds, with modern art looking hearts and flowers sitting upon the walls. The room was filled with the quiet buzz of chatter, and soft love songs were playing from the speakers.
'This is nice.' Jack said to himself with a smile, bringing his eyes back to where Alex was standing when the waiter came over to greet them.
"Bonjourno! How can I help?" The young man greeted, a wide smile gracing his sharp features. His accent was strong, and Jack had to really concentrate to hear and understand what he was saying, so he was glad Alex seemed to be fine with it.
"Reservation under Gaskarth please." The brunette said politely with a smile, before the waiter nodded and led them over to their table. Alex had booked a table near the back, pressed up against the wall. The table had a silver throw across it, with glittery heart design. A tall red candle was sat in the centre of the tabel, flickering away gently. Alex and Jack sat down, both admiring the room, whilst the waiter put their menus in front of them and took their drink orders. When the happy Italian man pranced off again, Jack spoke.
"This is awesome. It's super cute!" He said, grinning at the brunette who then seemed relieved that Jack was pleased.
"You like it then?" He asked with a small smile, putting his elbows on the table and clasping his hands together as a rest for his head.
"Yes! How did you find it? I've never even heard of it." Jack replied eagerly, admiring how Alex's features looked in the low light.
"When me and my mum did a drive around town when we first moved I spotted it, and just remembered it." He said with a shrug, taking his elbows off the table when their drinks arrived. The two glasses were placed in front of the boys, their orders quickly jotted sown, before they were once again left to themselves. Jack picked up the glass, twisting the straw in his fingers and smirked at Alex. The brunette met his gaze and blushed, looking down with a smile.
"Cheers to my beautiful princess." Jack said, raising his glass in the centre of the table. Alex giggled and rolled his eyes, before bag his glass up to meet Jack's with a gentle clunk.
"Cheers to us."

A few hours later, the boys were sat in the dark cinema. The late night show happened to be some awful horror movie, so they had gone for it. However, Jack was no longer able to play the macho man boyfriend, as he was scared shitless. He was clutching onto Alex's arm, practically on his lap, hiding his face in the older boys chest. The brunette was trying not to laugh, and Jack knew that, but he was terrified. There were a few other people in the cinema, and the tall boy had heard whimpering earlier, so he was glad that he wasn't the only one not dealing very well with this stupid movie.
It seemed to have reached an alright bit, so Jack peeked out from his hiding place behind Alex's arm. However, straight away the hunter thing jumped out, making everyone in the cinema jump, and making Jack yelp and cower back into Alex, clutching him even tighter.
'This was a fucking stupid idea.' He thought to himself, embarrassed at how scared he was. There was a loud crash from the movie, and Jack jumped again, subconsciously tightening his grip even more.
"Jay, sweetie, as much as I find this adorable, ease up on my arm please." Alex whispered gently to the taller boy, his voice strained where he was trying not to laugh. Jack kept his head where it was and kept his eyes turned away from the screen as he slowly released Alex's arm. He felt super pathetic. This definitely wasn't the image he wanted to paint of himself to the older boy.
The brunette kept his arms protectively wrapped around Jack's shoulders until the movie ended. The taller boy stood up slowly and stretched out, his muscles aching from sitting so curled up for so long. He yelped when something touched his arm, but he relaxed when he realised it was Alex, who was quietly laughing at him. The laugh was shaking his shoulders, forming a grin on his face, and even in the darkness of the cinema, Jack though he was beautiful. Alex looked up and noticed he was staring, his brown eyes bright as their gazes met.
"Oh come here you wimp." He said with a smirk, leaning up to lock their lips together. Jack eagerly bent his head down to meet him, smiling as their lips moved magically against each other, turning the felling in the taller boys stomach from a bad fear to a good one. After a long, passionate kiss was shared, Alex pulled back and rested their foreheads together.
"Happy Valentines." He whispered, making Jack smile. He continued speaking with a smirk and a cheeky laugh, before trotting off down the stairs towards the door, hand in hand.
"Now, let's go home and get you to bed before the monsters get you."
