Reaching towards the bookshelf I grabbed a dusty object that reads, 'Warped Tour 2006'.
I sit down in the reclining chair and began to open it.
I haven't looked through this in several years, and I don't know what's bringing me to do it now; I guess I just, want to remember when I was happy.
I want to remember what it was like being with him.
"Hey, what's that?" My roommate / friend, Alyanna asks coming into the room.
"It's just old pictures with old friends." I explain.
"Why is that guy in almost every picture?"
My heart starts beating faster and my eyes tingled.
"He was really important wasn't he?" She asks and I nod.
"We had several memories together but I haven't seen him in years."
"What happened?"
She's full of questions.
"We had the time of our lives and then we both a stupid mistake.""An apology couldn't fix it? Come on, what could have been so big that ruined your friendship?"
"An apology couldn't have fixed it." I say taking a breath.
Her interest grows intensely so she sits on the couch inches away from me.
"Adrienne, what happened?"
"You see, the mistake was so wrong, we couldn't stand to talk to each other anymore." "What was the mistake?"
"We fell in love."
Her eyes eased, "That ruined your friendship?"
I nod, "You see, when we first met. He was my hero, saved my life once, but he didn't know it."
"How did he not know?"
"You see, once upon a time, I was in this silly band."
"I know, you guys were huge."
I smile remembering the huge crowds, sold out stadiums, the music, the money.
"Yea, I guess we were."
"Can you tell me the story?"
Her curiosity was turning into an itch.
"You might want to get comfortable. This will take a while." I warn.
I flip the pages to the front to see a picture of the band with a younger boy.
He was around twenty-one and all of us were two to three years older than him.
His name was Bryan Stars, I remember because he was just starting out as an interviewer and he was nervous as hell.
"I'll start here I guess."
