Summary
For Riot Matthews, this meant taking on the only parental role in her life. To save her own life and the life of her baby sister, Tori, she had to kill her mother and escape with her sister by her side. It was then that they met Alex Gaskarth, who later disappeared in hopes of finding his one true love alive and well.
When the guys slowly began to break from the group, by either death or choice, Riot realized she was running out of reasons to keep fighting. Tori was her last remaining reason to never give up hope - But the infection had been proven to remain tame in Tori's blood. In a moment of weakness, she found herself in a war with the dead that she couldn't win. By her side was Zack Merrick.
The bus pulled away, taking Rian, Matt and Tori with it. Zack and Riot's fate was left to how quickly they could move their feet and how many undead they could take out with only blows to the head with a gun and no bullets.
Did they survive? Have they been turned into one of the monsters they so desperately wanted to kill?
Matt Flyzik intends to find out, on a search for the girl he loves. He could never give up hope that she survived that night, nor could he forgive himself for letting Rian drive them away, leaving Tori without a big sister, himself without a heart and all of them without a friend.
