Who Said It Was Gonna Be Easy?

Me and vic sat down at our empty table and he put his arm around me, pulling me close. He was talking quietly to me and kissing my cheek occasionally when the rest of our group arrived. For a minute, nobody said anything. I looked at vic.


"so it's true then?" Cassadee said. She didn't say it nastily, she said it disappointedly which was even worse.

"why wouldn't it be?" vic asked.

"jack?" Cassadee glared at me.

"he cheated on me" I said quietly.

"what?"

"I said, he cheated on me! Ok?! We're fucking over!" I stood up and went to storm off when I felt vic take my hand.

"Alex, wait, I'll come with you" he said. I turned to him. I kissed him hard, my hand moved to his jaw and his hand moved to my waist to pull me closer.

"please don't come after me. Let me just be alone for a while. Please" I whispered, his forehead rested on mine.

"if you change your mind, just call me, okay?" he kissed me again. I was sure half of the canteen was watching us now.

"and please..don't do anything stupid, kitten" he lowered his head to press his lips to my wrists gently.

"I won't." I told him quietly before letting go of his hands and running out. I went and sat where I'd sat the first day jack had taught me, mulling things over in my head. I put my headphones in and closed my eyes, trying to forget. Someone came and sat next to me, taking my hand in theirs. At first I thought it was vics but it didn't feel like vics hand, it felt more like..Jack's. I opened my eyes to see jack sat next to me. I stood up as fast as I could, wrenching my hand out of his. I pressed myself against the wall as I ripped my headphones out.

"get the fuck away from me!"

"Alex, please! I can explain!"

"fuck off, jack! I don't want to talk to you"

"can you please just let me explain, baby?"

"don't fucking call me that! Leave me alone"

"lex..please"

"no! Leave me alone or I'll tell everybody about all the things we did together" I spat. I then ran away from him. I stormed out of school and walked all the way home.


I took the next couple of days off school, not wanting to deal with seeing jack again as well as putting up with new comments about me and vic.
