My hair was really short. Jack had cut it so that I now had a side fringe and choppy layers on the top. It didn't look bad, but with it still being wavy it just didn't look right. And then Jack announced that he was going to teach me how to use a flat iron. There's that problem solved. He plugged it into the wall by the mirror and let it heat up while he checked that the length of my hair was even by running his finger through it which sent a tingling sensation throughout my body.
The straighteners buzzed and Jack picked them up, "right, hold still."
"Please don't burn me!"
"I'm not gonna burn you," he tutted.
"Good." I sarcastically smiled.
He ran the appliance through my hair a few times, giving me a few tips here and there. After he'd done about half of my head, he handed me the iron so I could give it a shot.
I grabbed hold of a longer pieced and clamped it between the metal plates and dragged it to the end. I smiled at my reflection and set it on the counter.
"I did it!"
"Hell yeah you did!" He cheered in a tone that would suggest I was a two year old who had just been potty trained. But I didn't mind, I thought it was sweet.
He ran off then to go and make us some supper, Rian's mom had bought a pizza for us to cook as no one else would be back until very late.
I carried on doing my hair, and when Jack came back in five minutes later, I was done. I saw his reflection through the mirror smile as he walked up behind me, resting his chin on my shoulder and doing that goofy little grin that I loved.
"Damn son!"
For the millionth time this evening, I blushed, "this is so weird." I stated, looking at the new Alexander...no, this was a new me, this was Alex. Or as Jack would call me, Princess.
"You're so weird."
"Nice... mature." I giggled, shrugging him off of my shoulder and turning the switch off at the wall.
"Hey! I was comfy there!" Jack pouted.
"Tough luck mister," I retorted, turning to face him, "can we watch another film?"
"Sure, you go keep an eye on the Pizza and set everything up in my room," he smiled, making his way out of the room, "but we're not meant to eat upstairs, so shhh!"
I nodded and made my way to the kitchen just as the oven timer wen off. I searched the kitchen for an oven-mitt and Pizza cutter, set them on the worktop, sliced up the pizza and shared the pieces out on to two plates and took them upstairs.
Jack was sprawled out on his bed, the title screen of Home Alone waiting for him to press play. He patted the spot next to him and made grabby hands at one of the plates, which I then gave to him.
"I haven't watched this film in a while!" I admitted.
"It's the best movie ever made," he said, starting the film up and taking a bite of his food.
Home Alone beat Pulp Fiction hands down, there was no comparison. Not that I was really watching it anyway. I was looking at Jack from the corner of my eye, said boy lip syncing most of the words which I thought was quite cute... wait, what? No, not cute.
As the movie carried on, I could feel myself getting more and more drowsy, and the last thing I remembered was Marv hitting Harry with a crowbar.

I had to include Home Alone because it's my fav movie and I got my sixth Home Alone shirt today, WOO!
