The rest of the week went past uneventful. Spent more time with Patrick as he didn't live too far away and non-stop texted Jack. After he was being a big kid and making a fuss over why I hadn't wore the clothes he bought me, he made me tell him why, which I simply explained it as my parents finding it 'distasteful'.

It was now one in the afternoon and I was expecting to head over to Jack's place soon, he would be picking me up in an hour on his motorbike, and this time, I was quite looking forward to it. Nervous, but excited. Of course, I had text Jack asking if he could wait around the corner and I'd meet him there - the last thing I needed was a lecture from my parents about that too. I really wanted to be Jack's friend, probably more than I did Patrick, so I had to keep my parents away from him at all costs.

I'd woken up pretty late, almost eleven, wrote out my analysis of Great Expectations for my English class and had my shower. I was now sat in my room on the edge of my bed towel drying my hair as my mom was asleep from doing the night shift. Deciding I could easily slip past my dad an out of the house, I led the Hot Topic clothes out on the matress; the t-shirt, as I now looked at it properly for the first time, had a Blink 182 graphic on it. And I still hadn't listened to Enema of the State. Woopsie. I took the album from the top drawer of my desk and put it into my CD player, turning it almost all the way down, still aware of my mom sleeping.

As the quiet music filled the room I skipped around my room making a start on getting ready.I slipped the tee on and turned to the black jeans. Sure, they looked tight, but they seemed managable enough.

Nope. I was so wrong. I can't do this. It was like a full on work out, jumping up and down so much that I thought I was going to get headrush. I decided a new strategy was needed, so I led on the floor on my back, sucking in everything and lifting my hips up off of the ground. It was easier, a lot easier, they went on with ease and I fastened the zipper and button at the top.

Looking in the mirror, it was a big change. I looked so differnt, I looked....like Jack.
I opened up my wardrobe and finding an old pair of Coverse that would look a lot better than my normal dress shoes.

My phone vibrated on my desk and I skipped over again, tuned my stereo off and held the phone to my ear.

"Dude, you're late, where the hell are you?" Jack scolded.

I winced at his choice of wording, but shrugged it off. "Gimme two minutes!"

"Two minutes, Princess." He repeated and hung up.

I pocketed my cell, grabbed a jacket and crept down the stairs, not wanting to run into my dad in this attire. Luckily for me, he wasn't in sight, so I went out the front door and made my way to the corner on Thames street.

Jack had his back to me and was straddling his bike, tapping the handles rhythmically. I snuck up behind him, careful not to let him know I was there, and pounced. I grabbed him by the shoulders and screamed, causing him to jump out of his skin, and me to go into hysterics.

"You dick!" Jack exclaimed, hand over his chest.

I just gave him my best toothy smile as he finally turned around, but I stopped when was staring at me. Oh no, I probably had toothpaste on my face. I instinctively wiped my mouth with the back of my hand, still watching Jack.

"Wow Lex... you look... great."

I let out a breath I wasn't aware I was holding and slightly pouted, looking down at the clothes. "I look like you!"

He brought his gaze to mine, "exactly," he smirked with a wink.

I rolled my eyes and smiled at him as he tossed a helmet at me.

"C'mon," he said, revving the engine.

I obeyed and hopped on, wrapping my arms comfortably as we sped off down the road and into a diveway with two cars already parked there, so Jack pulled up against the curb instead.

As we walked up to the front door, he took the hemet from me and muttered a "forgot to mention, I live at my friend's house, but that's a story for another daaaay!" He said, raising his voice as a petite blonde woman opened the door and smiled at Jack before pulling him into a hug.

"Hiya poppet, I'm off to go and see Sandra then get some groceries, is there anything you want me to get you?" She chimed almost musically.

"No thanks, I'm all good! Oh, this is Alex," he smiled, gesturing at me and smiling, "Alex, this lovely lady is Rian's mom."

She quickly greeted me and then left, Jack and I entering the house. I nosily looked around the place; it wasn't to big or too small and it had a creme/brown colour scheme running throughout. Jack walked over to the huge mahogany staircase and called for Rian, who minutes later came bounding down. Turns out he was going out soon to meet up with friends and his dad was at work, meaning we would be all by ourselves.

Once Rian said his goodbyes and left, we waltzed into the kitchen which had a similar wooden theme.

"Hungry?" Jack asked, fumbling around in various cupboards.

My stomach decided to answer his question by rumbling, and I just felt so embarressed, my cheeks flushing.

"I'll take that as a yeah," he chuckled, shining his goofy grin at me, "pasta? I know it's your favourite."

We had eaten our food and Jack had tried to teach me how to play Call of Duty (despite the protests regarding my parents' lack of approval, which ended up being pointless as I spent the whole time shooting anything BUT the other team.

Jack deciding that was enough failure for one day, told me to come and pick a movie with him from his DVD pile in his room.

His room was the opposite to mine, dark paint covered walls littered with band posters, one of which had 'Blink - 182' written in the corner.
"Hey Jack?"

Said boy hummed in response from where he was sat on the floor, picking out a selection of movies.

"Say it ain't so
I will not go
Turn the lights off
Carry me home"

Jack snapped his head around to look at me, amazed. "You listened to it!" He beamed, "I feel like a proud mother!"

I threw a pillow at him as I giggled, about to head downstairs when the gleam of a guitar caught my eye.

"You play?" I asked, walking over to admire it closer.

Jack came up behind me and lifted it from the stand, sitting on his bed cross legged and strumming out a decent chord sequence.

"Impressive!" I noted as he set it back down befofe I picked it up and placed it in my lap.

"Oh, you play too?"

"A littleā€¦ only classical stuff though." I admitted, starting to finger pick one of the harder compositions I had memorised, because for some reason, I had the urge to impress Jack.
My fingers danced across the fretboard as I pulled at individual strings effortlessly, creating the pretty little melody I had wanted. My eyes never left the guitar, so when I looked up at the end of the piece to ses Jack's mouth ajar, I was taken off guard.

"You never fail to amaze me, you know that Lex?"
