I honestly could have fucking killed Brendon then and there. Alex bolted right after we kissed, and the moment he was out of sight I slapped Brendon in the face.

“What the fuck was that?!” I growled.
“I saw you with that new kid and wanted to make sure he knew what you were all about.” Brendon shrugged. “Plus, I was hoping that maybe, we could go back to my-”
“Fuck. Off.” I said, stomping away. “Good luck getting me to ever share a bed with you again after this bullshit.” I called back, sure to leave him speechless.

Okay, yeah. I slept with him last night, but it hasn't been the first time and who knows when the last would be until now. He should know by now that if I want to fuck, I'll say something. Then again, I should have known better. Brendon and Holly are the two clingiest mother fuckers in the world. Every time I sleep with one of 'em, they act like we're dating til I tell them off.

I got to my bike, and sent a text to Alex, apologizing that he had to see that. As I went home, I thought about rather or not he was only making up the excuse that his parent's wanted him home early or not. I mean, I know Alex was raised to be catholic or christian, whatever. I'm pretty sure homosexuality is like, a huge no-no in those books. Not that it should matter what some thousand year old text says, seriously, who knows who really wrote it. Right?

By the time I got to Rian's there was still no reply, and I frowned, wondering why Alex wouldn't even talk to me again. So Brendon kissed me, big deal. I thought Alex wouldn't be that judgmental. Is he going to tell me he can't handle this anymore? That I'm not 'good enough' to be his friend? I groaned, and walked into the house, saying a quick hello to Rian's mom and running up to my room.

I wasn't going anywhere today, now I just felt like shit. I don't get why Alex has this effect on me, and I don't want to know. So, instead, I got my guitar out and just started to play any song that came to mind. It's what I always do when I don't want to think about something. If my mind is too busy being focused on the chords and the sounds.

After maybe, half an hour, there was a knock on my door.

“Come in.” I yelled, stopping the music. Rian walked in.
“Dude, what's up? You only play for so long when you're upset.” He asked sitting down.
“Alex saw Brendon and I kissing.”
“Ew, you hooked up with him again?”

“Not the issue right now Ri.” I pouted and he shook his head.
“Alright, alright. So, what does that have to do with anything?”
“Alex bolted away saying he'll text me with some excuse that his parent's need him home today.” I set down my guitar and laid back. “He finally was talking to me again after the stupid thing that went down at our hang out.”
“I told you it was a bad idea.” Rian scolded and I glared at him.
“Fuck off, you didn't do anything to stop me.”
“Okay, but would you have listened?” He asked, and I didn't say anything. “Look, I know how you are and I don't really care but you need to realize other people might. You were the one who decided to mess with someone literally raised to be the complete opposite of you.”
“He's not the complete opposite of me.” I grumbled.
“Whatever, have you tried talking to him?”
“Duh.”
“No reply, then?”
“Nope.”
“Why are you so bent out of shape over this anyway? I thought you just wanted to play with him, like you do with everyone else.”
“Not anymore, he's my friend.” I shrugged.
“Whoa, you actually are willing to not be an asshole to someone right away?”
“Rian..” I warned.
“Do you like him or something?”
“N-no.” I said quickly, “Of course not.”
“Right.” He laughed. “I think-”

Rian was cut off by the sound of my phone going off. Thinking it was Alex, I immediately dived for it and answered happily.

“Hey.” I smiled, only for that to be ruined.
“Hello Jack.” My father voice came through the phone. Well, as if this day wasn't shitty enough.
“Oh...hi dad...” I said, and Rian gave me a sympathetic look pointing to the door, and I nodded, before watching him leave.
“I hear you're failing three of your classes.” He said, monotone. “Do you even want to be successful? You need to grow up eventually.”
“Look, I don't need a lecture from you right now, I'm having a bad day.” I said, trying not to snap.
“Well, you're going to get one.” He said, clearly angry. “I cannot believe you just do not go to classes. And I keep getting complaints of you smoking on school grounds, what the hell is wrong with you? I didn't raise you to be this way.”
“You didn't raise me at all!” I yelled. “Don't act like you were ever there, you fucking prick. How about you go back to your shitty office and leave me alone? I didn't move out for nothing.”

With that, I hung up my phone and threw it across the room before getting up and grabbing a sweatshirt and what was left of my pack of cigarettes. I was going to have to buy more. I walked down the stairs, ready to leave when Rian stopped me.

“Dude, don't. Talk to me, what did he say?”
“Leave me alone, Rian.” I mumbled, shrugging him off
“Are you going to come back this time?” He asked, and I didn't answer, just leaving the house and lighting one up as I walked down the street. I'm sure Rian will be happy I didn't take my bike this time, considering last time I did I was almost gone for good.

Little did I know that leaving my phone at home would have been the best and worst mistake of my life.
