She Works For The Weekend

Selene

I wake up to the quiet apartment I bought when I first got to LA, leaving the stink hole that was Sequim, Washington, the home of the nothing, and more nothing. I walk to the bathroom, pulling my hair free of my Monroe piercing. My fingers trail over the cold marble of the bathroom counter, stopping at the small pile I set next to the mirror; a set of two tickets and backstage passes to All Time Low at the House of Blues, next to a Blue velvet engagement ring box.
A smile pulls at my lips as I look up at the mirror, my red hair wild and sticking in all directions, my Robyn and I are going to do this. Gay marriage is legal in California, and the two diamond rings that I bought the week after it was legalized are finally going to be used.
I never doubted Robyn and my relationship, but staring at the box I get nervous, what if this won’t be the right way to ask? She loves All Time Low, and meeting them will be amazing for both her and I, but what if it overshadows meeting them or worse, meeting them overshadows the proposal. I mean, Jack Barakat is a big personality and what if she is too busy talking to any one of them to bother paying attention to me.
I shake my head a bit, trying to get the idea out of my head, beginning to strip to get in the shower before Robyn gets home. I need to be clean and smell all nice especially if I’m going to try to get some. I can’t stand in the hot shower long enough. But by the time my fingertips start to shrivel and get all pruney I may as well get out. Water drips around my body as I slip my bathrobe on, more of making my clean up easier then to cover up before I begin the process of drying the mop of wet hair on top of my head.
“Selene?” I hear Robyn’s voice followed by the front door shutting, I quickly turn the blow drier off, leaving my hair fluffy and damp.
“Bathroom!” I call back to her quickly slipping the ring and tickets into my drawer just in time for the crazy, purple haired English woman I love walks around the corner and leans against the doorframe, a small smile plays on the corner of her lips.
“Hey.” Robyn giggles a bit and licks her bottom lip.
“Hey.” I smile back at her widely before turning around and leaning against the counter.
“You lazy fuck.” Robyn laughs and walks over, I grab her by her hips and lean forward, kissing her soft lips.
“I know.” I mumble against her lips as she slips her arms around my neck.
“I missed you god damn it.” Robyn mutters and kisses my lips again, pulling away far too quickly.
“I missed you too Robbie.” I sigh and touch my forehead to hers gently, closing my eyes and focusing on everywhere we make contact, missing her touch so much. I hate how some of my other gay or lesbian friends can talk to me about dating Robyn. I may be full-blown lesbian, but that doesn’t mean I can’t date a bisexual woman and not be happy. ‘She’s always away on business trips around all those men. You know how they can miss penetration so much…’ I sigh and open my eyes to see her green eyes staring right back into mine. My heart skips a beat and chills run down my spine, the good kind. The kind that warm you up and bring butterflies to your belly, not the kind that makes you feel cold and empty.
I feel her lips moving, just barely brushing against mine, making me yearn to close the short distance one more time, just to feel close to her one more time. Robyn runs her hand down from the back of my damp neck to the collar of my bathrobe, leaning away from me I watch as she pushes it down over my shoulder, tracing her middle finger along the line of one of the wings of my green dragon tattoo. She’s one of the few people who know what the painful look on the creatures face means.
Before I met Robbie, I was alone in Sequim, and eventually diagnosed with clinical depression, suicidal tendencies put me on a suicide watch in high school after I unsuccessfully tried to bury myself with a plethora of pills. The dragon burns from the inside out. He has no way of controlling the burning fire inside of him, only causing himself pain, and eventually death. I’ve only recently added a small addition to the piece, the date I met Robyn in roman numerals, also known as the day my life turned around for the better.
“You’re so beautiful…” She breathes out.

Music blares from inside, the ridiculous amounts of grinding drove me away with no desire to have a penis rubbing against my ass. Where I stand on the patio is much more desirable, the smell of marijuana coming from the circle of people on the grass below me passing around a joint is oddly comforting. Reminding me of the party’s I’m used to, just smoking and drinking then going around town and doing stupid shit. Once a few of my friends and I stole a statue from the town hall.
I sip at the shitty beer in my hand, glancing over to the side I notice a girl, bright purple hair and petite. She glances back over at me, her eyes a striking green, a small smile plays on her lips.
“Hey.” I smile over at her and stand up straighter from my slouched position over the rail.
“Hello” A smile plays on the girls lips as she looks over at me.
“I would normally use some sort of shitty pick up line right now, but to be honest I can’t really think of anything right now...” I laugh and move to stand a bit closer to her, a small laugh escapers her lips before she looks up at me.
“You could start with introducing yourself.” She smiles and turns around to lean back on the rail, holding a hand out to me, “Robyn.”
“Selene.” I take her hand, shaking it lightly before turning to lean on the rail next to her.

“I know you think so…” I mutter and smile back at her before kissing her cheek.
“I don’t think so.” Robyn sighs, and continues to run her fingers over the lines of ink, permanently drawn into my skin.
“Not now.” I groan a bit.
“You started it…” She whispers.
“I know.” I peck her neck before leaning back to look at her, “Want me to make you breakfast while you clean up?” I smile down at Robyn and tuck a stray bit of hair back behind her ear.
“I would love that.” She smiles back up at me and drops her hand from my shoulder before kissing my lips one last time before turning away from me.
The smell of Bacon fills the kitchen while I stand over the stove flipping eggs in one pan and bacon in another. Nothing fancy, not nearly as well cooked as Robbie could make them, but it’ll make do. Sometimes I don’t even understand how I manage to make food and survive while she’s away on tour.
“It smells delicious in there!” I hear Robyn call from the other room, I turn to see her running up behind me he hand aimed straight for my ass, smacking it hard, making me jump.
“HEY!” I laugh and set the fork I hold down, turning to her with a devilish grin on my face.
“Hey.” Robyn smirks and sticks her tongue out at me.
“You know you shouldn’t have done that.” I laugh and put myself in a lunging stance, with one hand turning off the burners quickly.
“Oh I think I’m glad I did.” Robbie laughs and wiggles her eyebrows at me.
“Oh really?!” I laugh and lunge forward, trying to get around her to hit her cute little butt back, Robbie laughs and pivots out of the way before turning to run into the living room.
“NO!” she laughs and jumps over the back of the couch landing on her back on the cushions, unable to get up quickly enough to get out of the way for me to jump over and land on top of her, landing with my knees on either side of her hips.
“Oh yes.” I laugh and lean down, pushing her shoulders down with my hands as I lean down over her.
“What are you doing?” Robyn giggles up at me,
“Hunting.” I smirk and lean down so that my face is only inches from hers.
“Are you a lioness now?” She laughs and leans forward.
“I don’t know…” I grin and lean down kissing her lips for a short moment, “Would that be a turn on for you?” I smirk and connect my lips with hers, holding the kiss for a long minute before I begin to trail my kisses down her cheek to Robbies neck, looking for her sweet spot.
“Babe…” Robyn laughs and pushes my face away gently, “Later.” She smiles up at me,
“Why not now?” I counter.
“Because I’m hungry and you just made breakfast.” She smirks and pecks my lips pushing me back off of her hips, “Later, I promise.” I sigh and fall back on the couch, off of her legs, watching as she jumps over the back off the couch again, heading over to the kitchen.
