A Perfect Disaster

Erin’s POV
It had been about two weeks since that day at the studio, and things have only gotten more awkward. They gave me the job with no hesitation, since they already knew me. We met like every other day or so at rehearsals, getting passports renewed, basically everything a band needed to go through to go on tour. I mean I was warming up to the rest of the boys, which made me realize how much I truly missed them. But as far as Jack goes, no new sparks were there. We laughed with each other if we were talking in a group with the boys, but if it was just the two of us, we sat in a tense, prolonged silence. It was quite painful, to be honest.
Since we had to leave, bid our goodbyes to our friends and family. It wasn’t so hard on Tiffany, but it took a toll on Flynn. I’d be gone for a few months, and we’ve never really been apart. But we found ways to cope, and he got over it.
The first show was in Pennsylvania, so it wasn’t too far of a drive from home. It was already 6 something, and the show started at like 7. The boys had pre show jitters. It wasn’t really them being nervous, it was more of them being excited because this would be the first show they played since like October. They were running around backstage, jumping, screaming, laughing. Basically, it was a mad house.
“Hey Erin, are you ready to get FUCKT?!” Alex screamed as he ran to me, holding my shoulders and jumping up and down.
“Hell yeah!” I laughed in response, and Alex stopped jumping.
“No, no no no. I wanna hear a FUCK YEAH!” He screamed even louder, then proceeded to jump again. He started shaking me around, causing me to erupt into even more fits of laughter.
“Fuck yeah!” I cheered, but he was still jumping.
“I can’t hear you!” He sing songed, smiling down at me.
“Fuck YEAH!” I tried to scream, but my voice sounded so small under all the cheering fans, stage hands yelling orders, and intro music that was blaring through speakers.
“I STILL CAN’T HEAR YOU ERIN!” Alex practically shrieked, causing me to jump from being startled, but easing back into my laughter.
“I said, FUCK! YEAH!” I screamed back, and he finally stopped jumping.
“Atta girl.” He said as he ruffled my hair, and smiled at me. The crowd began to chant “ALL TIME LOW!” over and over, followed by the loud rumbling of them stomping their feet. I looked at my phone to check the time.
“Dude! Its like 7:02! Get your asses on stage!” I yelled to him, to which he raised his eyebrows and nodded.
“And what a great tour manager you are.” He said sardonically, smirking as he did so.
“Shut up and get out there!” I laughed out, holding on to my side since it was aching from all the laughter. He gave me a hug and a smile, then ran out to the stage. Right behind him the rest of the boys came. Rian passed by and gave me a high five, and Zack a slight squeeze. When Jack came he stared at me, but he didn’t do anything.
“Get out there silly!” I joked, ruffling his skunk hair. He smiled, and stuck his tongue out at me. He then did as he was told, and began to run to the stage.
“Good luck!” I called, trying to warm up to him the best I could. We were gonna be on this tour for a while, and I know that we couldn’t just avoid each other the entire time.
“I don’t need it!” He called back, followed by a wink. I giggled.
When all four of them were finally on stage, the fans went insane. They were screaming so loud I literally thought that I’d burst an eardrum.
“WHAT’S UP PENNSYLVANIA?!” Alex screamed, to which the crowd screamed back.
“YOU’RE IN FOR A SHOW TONIGHT, DAMN WE MISSED YOU GUYS!” He added, smiling widely at their fans. God, you could tell how much those boys loved their fans, and it was amazing.
“I’M SO HAPPY TO BE BACK! AND FUCK YEAH YOU’RE IN FOR A SHOW, BECAUSE I’M NOT WEARING ANY UNDERWEAR!” Jack yelled into his mic, which earned him laughter, wolf whistles, and cat calls.
“JACK, YOU'RE GROSS." Alex laughed into his mic.
"HOPE YOU GUYS CAME TO PARTY TONIGHT, CAUSE I KNOW I FUCKIN DID. GET FUCKT!” Alex screamed again into his mic, and the crowd began to cheer again. He turned to the side stage, and nodded his head to signal that they were ready. The music dropped for Do You Want Me (Dead?)
and I swear that was the loudest I've ever seen a crowd get. They literally lost their shit.
The set flew by, with numerous dick jokes from Jack and witty comebacks from Alex. The fans were having the greatest time, and I was as well as I danced with everybody backstage and got to know them.
“This has been a wild fucking night. Damn, what a great way to kick off our tour.” Alex said into his mic, followed by a wide smile.
“Yeah, it really has been. You guys are crazy!” Jack laughed out, earning a roar of cheers from the crowd. It was amazing to see them do what they love. They’re so lucky, not many people get to do what they love, and get paid a lot for it.
“Alright guys, sadly, all good things come to an end. So we’re gonna wrap it up with a song that hopefully everyone knows, and if you don’t then get the fuck out the venue.” Alex laughed as he pointed to the doors, and everyone laughed in response.
“I’m just fucking with you guys!” He explained shortly after, and smiled over at Jack, who grabbed his mic to reply.
“Yeah well I’m not afraid to kick any of your asses out!” Jack yelled trying to be serious, but letting out a giggle. He then began strumming the intro to their next song, which drove everyone wild.
“We’re All Time Low, thanks for coming out tonight and being a fucking amazing crowd. We couldn’t have gotten here without you guys. This one’s called Dear Maria, Count Me In!” Alex cheered, and began strumming his guitar as well.
“I’ve got your picture, I’m coming with you, Dear Maria Count Me In,” He sang, smiling widely at the crowd. “SING!” He screamed into his mic, and they sung back with no hesitation.
“THERE’S A STORY AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS BOTTLE AND I’M THE PEN!” They went off into riffs, and played the song through. Everybody who knew of All Time Low knew the song Dear Maria, it was one of their most iconic songs, next to Weightless.
After the song was over all of the boys bid their fans their last farewells, and ran off the stage. When they came back, they were all sweaty and pumped up. I gave them all high fives, and told them how amazing they were.
“We should have a PARTY!” Alex cheered, obviously a bit too high off of his adrenaline rush.
“Yeah we should all go to a bar!” Jack exclaimed in response, jumping up and down like a small child, or like Alex was doing earlier. All of the boys seemed to agree in a matter of seconds, then turned to me with puppy dog eyes. I didn’t wanna be the killjoy and say no, so I told them sure. Since it was their first night, it was a hotel night. They decided to head back to their rooms and freshen up, and I decided to do the same.
After I took a quick shower, I decided to throw on some shorts instead of jeans since I was burning up in the venue, a tank top, and matching converse. I left my half wet and half dry in its curly natural state, because I figured it would dry on its own, and plus I was just feeling really lazy. I left my room and walked the short distance to Zack's, and knocked on the door. He opened it quickly, stepped out, and shut it.
“Hey Erin.” He spoke, smiling at me.
“What’s up Zack? You know, I realized since I’ve been here we haven’t really talked.” I replied, looking at him as I returned his smile.
“Yeah, we actually haven’t. We’ve been so busy with trying to get everything right for this tour. How have you been?” He questioned, glancing back at me as we walked down the corridor.
“Oh I’m fine. Things have changed a lot since I was with Jack, but I’d say it all worked out fine. What about you?” There was a whole lot I wanted to tell Zack, but now wasn’t a good time. I’d have to wait until we were sitting alone somewhere. I always loved talking to Zack, he always knew just what to say. He was like the older brother I always wanted.
“Yeah, me too. Have you talked to him at all?” He asked me, looking at me with a serious look on his face. I wanted to play dumb and ask who he was talking about, but I know where that would get me.
“No, not really. I mean if we’re all having a conversation as a group I’ll talk to him, but if its just the two of us, we sit in silence.” I admitted, hoping Zack would give me some good advice.
“Ah. Well I know its awkward, but he really wants to talk Erin. He misses you.” I looked up from my shoes at Zack, and knitted my eyebrows together in confusion. He missed me? Doesn’t he have a girlfriend?
“Oh, no not like that. He has a girlfriend now, Phoebe. But I mean he misses you in his life in general. He could use your friendship, you know.” That made more sense. But he actually missed me? I missed him too, but I never admitted that to myself because I thought he forgot about me. Apparently not.
“If we’re being honest here Zack, I miss him too. I always find myself thinking about him.” I said quietly, looking back to my shoes as I sluggishly walked.
“I know you do Erin. We all missed you though.” I smiled up at him. God, I really did miss Zack.
“Missed ya too, boob.” He smiled back, and opened his arms for a hug. He then pulled me into said hug, and gave me a nuggie.
“Aw aw Zack my hair!” I giggled as I pushed him away. He smirked at me, which eased into a smile. We finally made our way to Alex’s room. Zack knocked on the door.
“Hold up I’m putting on my pants!” Alex yelled, followed by rustling.
“He’s trying to get those tight ass jeans on.” Zack whispered, causing me to laugh quite loudly. All of a sudden a groomed, less sweaty Alex opened the door in his tight american jeans.
“You clean up nicely.” I joked, biting my lip to hold back laughter.
“I could say the same to you, Watts.” He smiled at me, then his eyes went straight to my chest.
“Nice boobs.” He smirked and poked me in the chest.
“Alex! Stop that!” I giggled as I pushed him away, then stuck my tongue out at him. I know Alex meant no harm in that, he was was like my best friend. He was my best friend, and I really did miss him.
The three of us walked to Rian’s room, got him, then to Jack’s. Rian knocked on Jack’s door, and shortly after Jack popped out. He was wearing a leather jacket, dark jeans, a grey shirt, and some sneakers. He looked great. In fact, he looked hot.
I shook myself out of those thoughts because not only was he not available, neither was I. I had a great boyfriend back home, and I knew I had to be loyal to him, no matter what came at me on this trip.
“Hey Jack, looking good man.” Alex said to Jack, who smiled widely in response.
“You know, gotta keep it sharp for the ladies.” Jack joked, to which Alex raised one of his thick eyebrows.
“I’m obviously kidding!” Jack laughed out quickly, raising his hands in defense. He then looked at me and smiled, and I did the same. I hope that tonight we’d warm to one another more.
The bar wasn’t too far from the hotel we were staying in, so we all just walked there. When we arrived, Jack ran in and started smiling like a kid in a candy shop.
“Dude, look at all these drinks! We’ve gotta try them all.” He was so excited, and it was the cutest thing.
“Jack you trying to kill us?” Rian laughed in response, looking over at Jack.
“First round’s on me, drink up kids!” Jack cheered as he ran to the bar. He ordered five shots of whiskey. We all grabbed one, and looked at each other before downing it.
“To us, and to this tour thats gonna be fucking amazing due to our new manager Erin!” Alex beamed, and we all toasted our shot glasses. We took them down quickly, and with that the night began.
We were having a great time, drinking, singing, dancing, basically acting like idiots. And things between Jack and I weren’t awkward. We talked, and we laughed, it was great. Maybe because we were both drunk, but it was great nonetheless.
Some time later into the night everyone else was no where to be found except Jack. We were sitting together at the bar, drinks in hand. We were obviously drunk, almost plastered, and me a bit more than him. Which made things even funner. We talked about nothing and everything. It was really nice to have him around, even if we weren’t dating. I missed his cheerful attitude.
“Erin?” He slurred, breaking me out of my thoughts.
“Yeah?”
"Your boobs look fucking amazing." He took a sip of his beer, then smirked at me.
"Jack!" I laughed out, pulling up my falling tank top as I giggled like a madman.
"What? They do! I mean I can look, can’t I?” His smirk faded into a smile, and I couldn’t tell if he was blushing, or if his face was red due to the fact that he was drunk. Either way, it was adorable.
“Of course you can, Jack.” I replied, still giggling. He was still smiling at me, then he took another gulp of his drink. He pulled his phone out of his pocket, looked at it, rolled his eyes, and shoved it back in his pocket.
"What's wrong Jack?" I genuinely asked, putting my drink down as I looked at him. Jack wasn't the type to let things get to him. He shook his head.
"It's just my girlfriend, Phoebe. She's so annoying. I honestly think she has trust issues, or something. She feels the need to constantly check on me and keep tabs on me. I swear its literally the most annoying thing.” He groaned out, obviously irritated. Wow, she was one of those girls? No wonder he’s like this. When we were dating and I called him twice within 30 minutes, he would get so pissed off at me.
"Hmm... Well did you give her any reasons to be suspicious?" I asked, honestly a bit condescendingly. When we were together, he always gave me reasons to be suspicious. But the thing was, I never acted on my suspicions. The only time I ever did something about it, like confronting him instead of doing the same behind this back, was when I caught him red handed with that leggy blond bitch. But that's the past now, and I don’t plan to dwell on it. He sighed.
"No, not at all. I mean I've changed since we were together, Erin. You made me realize that I was a huge douche. And even though I was distraught about our breakup, it made me a better person." He looked over at me, and gave me a half smile before taking a swig of his beer. Wow. I could tell he meant every word he said. I honestly didn't know how to answer to that, so I just nodded.
“Uh, since we’re talking, can I make a confession?” He questioned, his face turning a brighter shade red, signaling that he was actually blushing now. God, what did he wanna tell me?
“Sure.” I replied nonchalantly as I pulled my hair, which got puffy from humidity and me sweating, out of my face.
“Hm. Well, obviously things have changed a lot since we’ve been together, I said that already, didn’t I?” He began nervously, biting his lip as he spoke. I nodded my head for him to continue. “I mean I have a girlfriend now, and I’m pretty sure you have a boyfriend,” I cut him off.
“I do.” I probably sounded rude, but I really just wanted to get that point across. He wasn’t on the market, and neither was I.
“Yeah, well you’ve got a boyfriend, and I’ve got a girlfriend, but there is one thing that hasn’t changed… well at least for me.” He glanced up at me again. Where was he going with this?
“And what is that, Jack?” I was literally dying to know. What could he possibly be talking about? Honestly, this was riddling me with anxiety. He gulped.
"Well, Erin, you gotta admit that," Jack began, an again, only to be interrupted once again by me.
"Admit what Jack?!" I almost yelled, very impatiently. Why couldn’t he just spit it out? I was getting really annoyed. He sighed.
“Erin, every girl I’ve hooked up or dated with since I’ve been with you, including my current girlfriend, isn’t like you at all. And I don’t mean in other aspects. I’m talking about the sex.” He took a harsh swig, then glanced at me once again. Oh my god.
“Re-really?” I stuttered out, totally taken aback. I mean, yeah our relationship was downright toxic, but we honestly did have great sex. And I’d be lying to myself if I didn’t agree with his statement.
“Mhm.” He hummed lightly, taking another sip. We sat there in silence for a bit, me picking a hangnail of my finger, and him just staring into space.
“You know what Erin, forget I ever-” I cut him off.
“No.” I stated blankly, finally making eye contact.
“What?”
“I said no.” I said a bit more firm now, and he furrowed his eyebrows together. I sighed.
“I said no, because its true. Its been the same for me.” God, it felt great to admit that. Or maybe that was the strong alcohol finally setting in. Either way, it felt great.
“Really?” He questioned, sounding just like I did a few seconds ago. I nodded, and took a needed swig of my drink. Where was this gonna go?
“Well, you know we could just once, for old times sake.” Jack said nonchalantly as he chuckled, making me choke on my drink. I put it down and looked over at him.
“Oh come on Erin, you know that you wanna. Its literally just one night, nobody has to know…” He trailed off as he ran his finger up my leg. The weird thing about it was, I didn’t shake him off. And I kind of wanted to…
“Jack…” I whined, hoping that he’d say something like ‘just kidding!’ to shake me out of my mind right now. Unfortunately, he wasn’t kidding.
“Erin, we both know that you wanna give into me. So just do it.” He spoke softly, moving behind me. He pushed my hair to one side, and began to lightly kiss my neck. I let him. I wanted to say that it was the alcohol that was letting him do this, but honestly, I probably would’ve sober. What the hell is wrong with me?
“Mmm, good girl.” He mumbled, his hot breath tingling my skin as his kisses turned into sucking. I reached up behind me and grabbed his hair as I threw my head back. I moaned his name softly, which made him sink his teeth slightly into my flesh. He separated his lips from my skin, making me turn around and look at him.
“Calm down,” he laughed, smiling cockily. “Let’s go somewhere where no one else will see us.” He grabbed my hand, and I got up from the stool. We managed to sneak out of the bar. I hated doing this, but at the same time I craved it more than anything. What about Flynn? I love him with all my heart, it would kill him if he found out about this. But then again, would he ever find out? Its just a one night thing. Jack has a girlfriend, I have a boyfriend, we’re obviously going our separate ways after this. This is just a drunk experimentation. I guess Jack could tell that I was drowning in my thoughts, because he spoke up.
“You good?” I nodded in response, trying my best to ease my expression. I was really gonna go through with this.
We walked back to the hotel calmly, talking and laughing like we had done in the bar, and it made me forget all about my nervousness. I really did miss him, and I know he missed me. Maybe this would serve as closure, for us. Like if we did this one last time, we’d get over each other and move on with our lives.
When we got to the hotel, we quickly ran in the elevator. And that’s when it started. Jack pressed me into the wall when it shut, and smirked at me. His lips immediately hit mine, and I eased into him. Our lips moved perfectly in sync, like the always had. His hands gripped tightly at my waist, as I stood on my tippy toes and gripped onto his neck. The ‘ping’ from the elevator made us break apart quickly. We walked out, and his lips returned to mine. We kissed as we walked down the hall, intertwined with one another. When we got to his room, he pressed me on the door as he used his room key to unlock it.
“We shouldn’t be doing this.” I mumbled against his lips as we stumbled backward into his hotel room.
“I don’t see you resisting me.” He stated raspily, turning us around quickly and slamming me into the room door to shut it. His lips found their way to my neck, making me grab a fist full of his hair and moan out.
“Jack this is so wrong. So damn wrong.” I whispered into the thick dark air filled with lust, biting my lip so hard I’m pretty sure blood would draw.
“So wrong its right, huh?” He joked looking up at me with those big brown eyes, now a darker shade of brown. He wasn’t the sweet, caring Jack I remembered when we were dating. Not in this moment anyway. He was the Jack full of greed, yearning to claw my clothes off, just to get to my bare skin. And I was feeling the exact same way.
“Shut up.” I growled, pulling him back into me. And from that second, I knew any situation involving Jack and I, would be a perfect disaster.
