Falling Asleep on a Stranger

Currently sitting in my room doing absolutely nothing you're probably wondering why, cause it's the middle of April. I dropped out last year and took my GED, I passed as usual with all the tests I take. I have a job but only so I can save up to move away, I really wanna travel. Go all over the world, meet exotic people. It just all seems so exciting to me. I had today off and was enjoying myself by listening to music and doing laundry. Yep, that's what I did with my days off.

My mom and I treat our relationship like a room mate sort of thing. I'm never home when she's home, mainly because of my step father. He's an ass and she deserves better, that and he abuses me and I don't do well with that sort of stuff. Last time we both went at it I got arrested cause my mom lied to the cops. Now I was a minor so I got out but serious choosing this looser over your own daughter, smooth mom. I get over though cause she's never once done anything to harm me and he was nice to me when they got married but one fuck up and I was permanently put on his bad side.

I sighed thinking about all this and sit up on my bed. My feet were dangling off. I walk out of my room and into the living room. I step into our kitchen and open the fridge. I pull out a bottle of water. I sit on the edge of the counter and look at my surroundings. A tap on my porch door distracted me though. I smiled and jumped off the counter. Heading over to the door Chase fixes his hair. I open the door and he steps in. He leans down and kisses my lips.

"Hey, babe." He says. "Nice to see you too." I say as he steps past me while I close the door. "Let me guess, laundry day?" He asked. I chuckle and nod. "Yep, It's my day off and it needed to be done." He smiles at me. "So other than laundry, what's your plans for today?" I turn away from my porch door that I just locked. I look at him as he lightly steps into me, pushing my back up against the wall. "Nothing." I said as his lips pushed against mine.

His tongue licked my bottom lip and I parted my lips. His tongue slid in and our tongues pressed against the others. His hands were rested on my hips, playing with the waist band of my sweats. My hands wrapped around his neck, deepening our kiss. "We could do this to fill up your extra time." He said against my lips. I chuckled a little and pulled away. "I would but you have work soon and I wouldn't wanna keep you."

He sighed and smiled at me. "I wish you would." He said and kissed me again. "So who's gonna be at the Tabernacle today?" I asked and pulled away from him heading to my room. He sprawled across my bed. "I don't know but it's your genre of music." I headed to my dresser and pulled out a new pair of underwear along with a bra. I pull my t-shirt over my head and toss it on my couch. I put on my new bra and pull down my sweat pants.

I slip on some new underwear. Pulling on some skinny jeans next followed by a tank top. I sit on my couch and put on my socks. "Why are you getting dressed?" He asked leaning up on his elbows. "Well, my step dad will be home in like 30 minutes so I don't wanna be here, especially when my mom has 2 more hours of work. It's Thursday, I do this every Thursday." "Right, I just forgot." He leaned up a little more and made grabby hands at me.

I chuckled and went over to my bed. He pulls me into his chest. "You smell nice." I say. "Yeah." He hummed in my ear. Then the door bell went off. I sat up and looked at him. "Expecting anyone?" He asked. "Nope." "Well, I'm gonna take this opportunity to head off to work at the same time. "Ok." I kissed him quickly and we left my room. He followed me down a few steps till we got to the landing where my front door was.

I undid the lock and Chase kissed me again as I opened the door. "Excuse me." Chase said and stepped past. "Oh hey, bye." "What are you doing here?!" I squealed. I lurched forward and pulled Alex into a hug. He chuckled and wrapped his arms around my chest, mine around his waist. "I have a show in Atlanta and decided to see you while I was close." I squeezed tighter. "Ugh... I missed you." I said into his chest. "I missed you, too. Do you wanna maybe go inside the house."

I pulled away. "Actually lets go out and catch up just let me grab my wallet and phone and shit." I ran up my stairs and Alex stepped in closing the door behind him. I ran into my room and grabbed a few things and shoved my feet into my converse. I run back into my living room and pull him into another hug. He laughs. "I missed you, really I did." He said. He was making fun of me but I haven't seen him in forever.

"Shut up and let me love you." I said. I pulled away and he followed me down into the garage, passing the front door I locked it. We stepped out the garage door and went to my car, considering I didn't see one for him. "How did you get here?" I asked. "Taxi." "Lame." I said and slid into the driver seat. "Oh my gosh you're so grown up. Look at you driven and stuff." I pushed his shoulder. "Shut up, I am 18 now, Lexi."

He tilted his head back. "I haven't heard you say that in so long." I started my car and pulled down my drive way. "Well, come by more often and I'll say it more." He looked at me and squinted his eyes playfully glaring at me. "Oh right, way too busy being a famous rock star." He laughed. "SUPER famous, get it right." I rolled my eyes. "So where are we going?" "Well, on Thursdays I normally go and hang out by the lake-" "Well I have a show tonight if you would rather do that."

"Most definitely, I miss not being able to walk down the street and hear you play. What time is that at?" "Well I have to be back at like 2:30." "Alright, well we'll go ahead and head over it's already 1:45 so." I made my way down the road and onto the highway. "So what kind of music does Iz have in here." He said looking through all the compartments of my car. I laughed as he pulled out cd after cd. "OOOOHH." He said and slid in one of mt blink cd's. I laughed as he went past a couple to play All The Small Things.

He went through some more. "Hey, we're on tour with them." He pointed to one of my You Me at Six cd's. "That's cool, who else are you on tour with?" I asked heading to the right lane so I can get off the exit. "Well, You Me, Mayday, and Pierce the veil. We're headlining with Pierce." "You're headlining with Pierce the Veil?" I asked looking at him. "Why? Awwe, are you a fan girl?" He asked making goo goo eyes at me.

I huffed and continued driving. "Nope, they just helped me get out of somethings." "Like what?" Alex said scrolling through his phone. "Just things with my step dad and other people." "Ah, well they will be happy to hear they could help." "Wait you're gonna introduce me to them?" I asked as we got closer to the entrance of the venue. "Yeah, of course." "Ok." I pulled up to the venue and Alex got them to let us park where the buses parked.

We got out of my car and I slid my wallet and phone in my back pockets. I held my wrists to my sides. I walked around the car and Alex pulled me into his side. "Since when did you get so tall?" "Well that happens when you grow up." I said with a laugh as we walked into the venue. "Here, follow me." He said. We walked through a hall way. "Alex, you're back early for call. That's a nice change."

"Shut up, Matt." Alex said. I laughed behind him and snorted. "I know that snort anywhere! Paige!" Matt yelled and ran over engulfing me into a hug. "Hey Matt!" I yelled back. He let go of me. "Why so tall?" He asked. "First off I can't help it, second off you're just jealous." He pushed my shoulder a little. I laughed and Alex took my hand pulling me with him into a room, Matt followed behind.

"Look, it's Alex Gaskarth Ahhhh!" I heard Jack say in a high pitch squeal. That one made me bust up and I doubled over in fits of laughter. "Shut your mouth." He said turning around and tickling my sides. "Lexi, Stop." He tickled my sides further. "Lew, please?" I begged. He stopped and held out his hand for me to take considering he tickled me into submission on the floor. He pulled me up.

"Is that my little tot?!" Jack said running across the room pulling me into a hug. "Hey, Jacko." I said back. I wrapped my hands around his waist and his pulled my body further into his. "I missed you." He said. "I missed you, too." He pulled away and looked at me. "I know, I know. I got tall." I said. "That but now you also have boobs." He said. "Wow, haven't seen you in forever and the first thing you notice is my boobs." I took my hand placing them on top of my boobs.

"Yep, they came in the summer of 8th grade." I dropped my hands. "Alright, come here." Rian said gesturing over to him. I smiled and headed over to his out stretched arms. We hugged for a minute. "Hey, my turn." Zack said grabbing my arm and pulling me from Rian's grip. I chuckled and gave him a hug back. I let go and looked at them. They've changed a lot in the last couple years.

"Alright so in a minute we can continue our little get together, but first I need to go do something." I said turning to walk out of the room. "Wait, where are you going?" Alex yelled after me. "I gotta say hi to someone." I said and walked out onto the stage. I looked over to the bar and saw Chase. I jumped down from the stage and walked over tot eh bar. "Can I get a beer please?" I asked. Chase turned and saw me.

A smile crept onto his face. "Hey, babe. What are you doing here?" He jumped over the bar and stood next to me. He pulled me into him and kissed me. "Well, my friend you say come in earlier was an old friend and his band is playing tonight." He leaned down again and kissed me. "Cool." "Hey Chase. You maybe wanna get back to work." Some older guy yelled. "I'm going." He said looking over his shoulder. He turned back to me and kissed me again.

"I see you later, gotta get back to work." "Okay Dokey." I said as he pulled away walking over to get back behind the bar. I turned and started to head back towards the stage. I pushed myself onto it butt first. I stood back up and wiped off my butt. "Alright, that was a lot of PDA." Alex said. I looked up at him. "Yeah, that's Chase. He's really nice." I said and walked back over to all of the guys standing there.

"Hey, Chase." Alex yelled and waved at Chase. He turned around and waved back with a smile on his face. "I don't like him." Alex said turning his nose. I rolled my eyes. "You don't know him and he's a lot nicer than others I've dated. Plus I feel like you would never like anyone I dated." "Correct, maybe I'll just arrange a marriage for you." He said. I laughed hanging my head down. "Alex, Alex, Alex. I don't roll like that. I'm a free spirit, you can't control all this awesomeness."

I gestured down to my body and all the guys let out a laugh. "You're right about the arranged marriage thing, I still wouldn't be ok with it. I'll just get you some cats-" "Woah, woah, woah. Can they at least be dogs." I said. He nodded. "Alright, I guess I'll sacrifice one for the other." I turned my body and wrapped my hands around my mouth forming a mega phone with my hands. "Hey Chase. You've been replace with dogs!" I yelled.

"What?.... I'm pretty sure that's bestiality and sort of illegal!" He yelled back. His comment earned laughs from all them, I turned my nose. "Gross!" I yelled back. "Alright then, don't replace me and we wont have these issues." He said back winking at me. I smiled and stuck out my tongue. I turned back to my boys. "So, I was gonna introduce you to people." Alex said taking my hand.

We walked back behind stage and down to yet another room he knocked on the door. I got clammy hands and could feel my heart race. I mean what do you say to someone who saved your life? What do you tell the people who saved your life? Where do you begin? "Lexi, I don't think I can-" I closed my mouth when the door opened. "Hey, Alex." Mike said. "Hey, dude. Here is the coolest person you will ever meet and she happens to be a fan, this is Paige. I've known her since I was what like 14?"

He asked looking back at me. "13." Was all I said back. "Cool, well come one in here and meet the rest of us." Mike said. Alex stepped in and I followed, much to my dismay. "Vic, Tony, Jaime. Meet Paige." I waved. "Y'all can call me Izzy though if that's more comfortable. Alex and the guys call me Izzy and Iz. Unless Alex is mad at me then it's Paige Elizabeth Colegrove, but darker in voice and a lot angrier." I blabbered on, I could not shut off my mouth.

"Nice to meet you." Jaime said. "Yeah." Tony said. "So you've known Alex for a while?" Vic asked me. I sat down on one of the couches in the room, next to Alex who sat next to Mike. "Yeah, we met when I was 6." "So you know embarrassing stories, right?" I nodded. "Sure." "Alright tell us one." Jaime added in. "No we don't need to do that." Alex said. "Sure we do." Mike said wrapping his arm around Alex's shoulders.

I laughed. "Alright well this one time Alex was babysitting me, I must have been 7 and-" He threw his head into his hands. "Not this story!" "Oh yes, this story." I said. "Continue." Vic said. "He came over and my mom left and Alex was at a party when she called and asked him if he could. Well, Alex was intoxicated and to hide the alcohol from my mom he hid it in one of my, for kids cups and-" "No way!" Tony yelled already in hysterics understanding what I was saying.

"Yes way, And I drank the whole thing. Not only was I intoxicated he was too. So I did the only sane thing and stripped all my clothes off and ran down the road naked. Alex had to chase me down the block and I was butt naked, he stumbled off into a ditch full of mud. He finally caught me though. Didn't you Alex." I said resting my hand on his left knee. "You suck." He said and looked at me.

"I know, what else is new." I said nonchalantly. The guys were laughing, dieing, rolling around. It wasn't that funny but it was the first time I got drunk and it was all his fault. "Oh look found you, Alright I'm doing a mic check come out here." Matt said talking to Alex. "I'll be right back." He said and left the room. I watched him leave then turned my attention to the guys in the room. "Ok, so I can't just sit here and not tell you." They looked at me concerned.

I gulped looking down at my hands. "I moved down here and got into some things I shouldn't have and I started to cut for various reasons and well then I heard The Balcony Scene on your first album, shortly after it came out and I stopped." I looked up at their faces. "I stopped everything bad in my life and it got easier for me to deal with my surroundings. I guess I just wanna thank you guys..." I trailed off.

"We love hearing that our music has an effect on people enough to make a change in their own life." I smiled at Vic's answer. "Umm... can you not tell Alex? He doesn't know I wear bracelets for a reason, I also rarely ever where shorts..." "Yeah, yeah. It's none of our business really." Mike said. "Thanks." I said Alex walked back in. "We play soon, you excited?" He asked smiling at me. "Yep, I sure am... to see them though. Not y'all." Motioning to Pierce. His smile dropped.

I stood up and pulled him into a hug. "I'm kidding, goofball." "Good cause I was about to beat you up." I laughed. "I could so take you, Lexi." He chuckled a little louder than needed. "Sure." "I'm not gonna challenge you cause you'll loose and be a sore looser about it. It will be Candy Land all over again." He pulled away and punched my arm. "Candy land doesn't work if we both cheat and we figured that out the hard way."

I chuckled, bowing my head in agreement. I really did miss him. He understands me so well. I really do love him, he's so cool. I would never admit that to him but he's the greatest person in my life who was a constant, him and the boys in the other room. They're my real family, and I love them.
