Forever Young

Bad Mouthing

Jack and I got back to the bus quick enough, and my wet shirt was starting to really bug me. Guess it was a good thing Jack pushed me to come back, at least I could change. I typed in the code to get in the bus, and hopped on, heading straight for the bunks.

“Where are you going?” Jack asked.
“To change my shirt?” I looked at him. “It will take two seconds.”
“I just want to make sure you're feeling okay.”
“I am, I told you I was fine.” I sighed, walking away quickly before he could say anymore.

Peeling off my wet clothes, I grabbed some new ones quickly from our suitcase to change. Stupid girl knocking me over, now Jack is never going to leave me alone. I understand that it's just because I'm pregnant, and it's a little cute that he worries, but so does everyone else now. Plus, thanks to Tay's outburst, I'm sure word will travel fast of my situation. Now I was never going to be trusted alone or to take care of myself.

Now dry and changed, I walked back to the lounge to find Jack pacing and when he saw me, was quick to pull me into his arms and start asking questions.

“How do you feel? Anything hurt? Head? Stomach? Do you feel too warm? Not warm enough?”
“Jack I'm fi-” I tried to say, but he kept going, looking over me.
“What about your arm, is that okay? Are you sure you don't feel ligt headed or-”
“Jack!” I yelled. “I'm okay. Nothing hurts, not really. My shoulder might be bruised tomorrow, but that's it.”
“Are you sure?” He asked, and I nodded. He let out a breath. “Alright...”
“Hey,” I leaned up and kissed him. “I'm okay, I swear. It was just a little tumble.”
“I know, it's just... I should have been there. I shouldn't have left you alone, if I was next to you I could have caught you before you fell or something.” He explained.
“Don't blame this on yourself. You can't always watch me, you shouldn't even have to.”
“Yes I should,” He insisted. “I helped make this baby, and I need to make sure both you and it are okay.”
“We will be, Jack. We will, everything's been just fine so far.”
“Until tonight.” He pointed out and I just sighed. This was getting us nowhere.

I decided to just stay in, not wanting to deal with probably a million more people asking if I'm alright after the fall. Jack stayed with me even though I said he can go have fun if he wants. The night after that, was pretty boring, ending with us falling asleep on the lounge couch to some movie we popped in.

The morning was much more eventful. It started like ever other morning, me in the bathroom. Only this time, I wasn't the one puking. Flyzik was.

“I can't believe you manage to do this everyday.” He groaned, before more vomit rose in his throat.
“I don't puke every day.” I sighed, waiting for him to finish. “Done yet?”
“I..I think so.” He whined.
“Great, cause you're going to brush your teeth and head straight back to bed for the day.”
“What? I can't, I have things to do and...ugh...” Matt's protests died when his stomach decided it wasn't empty enough.
“I can do it.”
“No you can't, you're...you know, pregant.”
“And you're dying.” I sighed, Matt stood up and I handed him his toothbrush. “Do you have any idea when you came back last night?”
“Um. Eleven?”
“Bus call. Which was at four.” I corrected. “Do you know what time it is now?”
“Um....ten?” He asked, clearly trying not to admit that he's fucked.
“Six in the morning. Literally no one else is up.” I sighed. “Brush your teeth, then you're going back to bed. I can handle today.”
“But, what about the signing, and check the merch tent, and it's going to hot, plus-”
“Matt.” I shoved his toothbrush into his mouth. “I'll be fine.”

After a good half hour of Matt and I arguing like we're the married couple, I got Matt back into bed and took his clipboard of things to do and the time for everything. I checked through everything and thankfully the guys played last today, but had an fairly early signing, which meant no one could complain that I was going to be out in the sun too much. I started waking people up around ten, starting with the crew. They were less likely to annoy me about the fact that I was taking over all of Matt's jobs for today.

When I started on Zack, Rian, and Alex, the complaints started.

“You shouldn't be doing all this Ember.” Alex said, following me to go wake Jack up.
“I'm a big girl.” I said. “And it's just today.”
“Yeah, and I just checked the weather, today is one of the hottest ones we're going to have.” Rian said, and I rolled my eyes shaking Jack.
“Babe, wake up.”
“No, five minutes.” He complained, rolling over on the couch.
“Jack, you have a signing in an hour, wake up.” I laughed, poking his sides.
“Fine,” He looked at me, then everyone else. “Where's Flyzik?”
“You're wife took over his job.” Alex spoke up before I could explain.
“What, you can't-” Jack immediately sat up, but I help up a hand.
“Jack, Mickey is like, dying. I can handle one day.”
“But, what about last night? Are you sure you're okay still from that fall? And-”
“Whoa, Ember fell?” Rian asked. “Are you hurt?”
“I'm fine!” I yelled before people could start up again. “Gates are opening, you have a signing at noon, so if all four of you want to shower instead of smelling like beer and sweat, get your asses moving and quit worrying about me!”

With that, I stomped off the bus away from them to make sure the crew was unpacking things we would need later. One look at me and they knew not to mess with me or ask anything that has to do with the baby. I started tapping my leg while watching them, trying to chill out but now I was annoyed and it wasn't going away. It's probably the lack of anxiety medication that's making it harder to destress.
After about twenty minutes, Jack walked off the bus, now clearly showered and didn't say a word about what just happened. Instead he said the guys were getting ready and gave me a morning kiss. I was hoping Jack wouldn't hover over me, but he totally was. Wherever I went, he went. When we got to the signing, he told me not to leave the tent unless I had to. It was getting old, fast.

“Jack, can you leave me be for like, two seconds?” I asked, when I happen to go outside.....and Jack happened to follow me.
“Where are you going?”
“To check and make sure Vinny's okay, he's been at the merch tent for like, four hours now.”
“I'll go with-”
“No way, fans will flocked to you like, immediately. I'll be okay for twenty or so minutes alone.” I assured, but Jack shook his head.
“Last time I left you alone, you were hurt.”
“One time.”
“Still!”
“Jack, I am not arguing with you about this. Stay here or so-”
“Hey guys,” Tay popped up out of nowhere. “What's up?”
“Nothing, I was just leaving.” I said, staring right at Jack. He crossed is arms, scowling at me.
“Awesome, I have a signing now. I'll tag along, where ya going?”
“Just to the merch tents...” I said, looking at her and she smiled.
“Great! It's on the way.” She walked over to our cooler, and stole two water bottles, “Let's go girly.”

She handed one to me, and we started walking away. I saw her turn for a moment, and knew exactly what was going on. Tay basically just assured Jack that she'd watch me.

“Thanks for babysitting.” I scoffed, and Tay sighed.
“Don't be cranky about it.”
“Whatever.” I mumbled.

Tay went off to her signing after dropping me off by the merch tents, saying to wait for her before I walked back to the buses. Which I wasn't going to do. Her signing could take hours, and I didn't need an escort. I checked over Vinny was doing, and asked if he wanted me to bring any more merch and he told me what they were out of at the moment and running low on. Once that was taken care off, I went to walk back and happened to walk into a couple of All Time Low fans that recognized me. I talked, and took a picture with them before slipping back behind closed off areas. I wass basically home free and great, until an annoying voice caught my attention.

“I'm just saying, the road is no where for a pregnant chick. Seriously, who does that?” I snapped my head over to see Austin and Alan.
“Alan, you're going to get your ass kicked, shut up.” Austin warned, but neither of them have seen me yet. I walked over, hearing Alan run off his mouth some more.
“Come on, Austin, you have to agree with me. Who the hell goes on Wapred Tour knocked up?”
“For th record, Alan. I wasn't pregnant when this started.” I spoke up, making him jump and look at me.
“Oh wow, speak of the devil...”
“And she shall appear to kick your ass if you keep spouting shit like that.”
“Cool it, babe.” He said, making me mentally growl. “Not my fault you're here when you should be at home, you know, nursing your soon to be fat belly.”
“One, don't you ever call me babe. Second, fuck off Alan. I have a job to do around here, ya'know.”
“Yeah, just cause you're married to Jack, you egt to work with his band.”
“Look here, you brat. I've been working with All Time Low since we were back in high school.”
“Whatever, and what did you mean you weren't pregnant before this? Did you seriously let Jack knock you up on this tour?” I didn't say anything, just setting me jaw and clenching my fists before I killed Alan. “Oh, so you did. What, afraid Jack would eb too busy to give you attention or something?”
“Look here you son of a bi-” I went to freak out, now more pissed off than ever, but someone covered my mouth and wrapped an arm around me.
“Ember, there you are. The guys and I need you for something.” I found Jack behind me, who was now pulling me away.
“Jack, let me go, I'm going to kill that fucker!” I managed to free my mouth when we were a good ten feet away.”
“Doctor said to avoid stress, and walk away, Em.”
“Did you not hear him? And I am not stressed, I'm pissed off!”
“You're shaking, you haven't stopped really fidgeting since this morning, I know you Ember.” He said, still pulling me along with him. “You're stressed out and annoyed and need to just, relax.”
“It'd be easier to relax if everyone wasn't on my case.” I grumbled.
“What?”
“Nothing.” I ripped my arm from his hand. “I have a few hours to kill, I'm going to lay down or something.”

I walked off ahead, and stepped on the bus only glaring at anyone who tried to say hi to me. I was just...ugh, I don't even know.

Notes

Alan's a meaning butt.
