My Toxic Valentine

I walk into my same old school I did a year ago and I swear to god everything feels better then it did then. Not only did I make the love of my life mine, my band started up since then, my friend pool has grown a bit. Girls seem to have a tendency to want to have a gay friend. Which is cool I guess. Jack seems to like it a lot. His skinny ass can’t seem to fully grasp the idea of a serious relationship fully.
I know he would never cheat or anything though, it’s just amusing to see him with all these girls around us.
“You ready for today?” Rian jogs up next to me,
“Absolutely.” I grin at him, “Do you think he’ll like it?”
“Dude, Jack is going to like anything today. I saw him earlier talking to some of those girls who follow you around now and I swear they were fangirling.” He chuckles and runs a hand through his floppy hair Jack and I have been wanting to fix.
“You got connections for the booze after?” I grin at him,
“I got you covered.” Rian grins and pushes me gently with his arm.
“You are the shit.” I smile, “There at 6?”
“Yeah, we should be ready by 5:30 though.” He shrugs, “Just don’t rush. You guys need your time.”
“Thanks. See you later.” I wave at Rian as I make the turn in the hall to go over to Jacks locker. “Hey.” I can’t even try to suppress the grin that washes across my face when I see him. I can’t even explain why I love him so much. Maybe it’s the fact that he makes me smile like there’s no tomorrow or the fact that we have so much in common it might be unhealthy.
“Hey.” He smiles his goofy grin at me, making my insides bubble, so excited for tonight,
“Happy one year anniversary.” I say casually as I walk up to him, putting my hands on his hips I pull him against me, kissing him deeply. Ignoring anyone around me, not caring if their homophobic asses see’s or not. Jacks lips move with mine slowly, I smile against his lips and chuckle, not entirely knowing why.
“I love you.” Jack says in almost a whisper as he pulls away.
“I love you more.” I grin and slide my hand down to take his, “You ready for today?” I ask and start to guide him to my car.
“What do you have planned?” Jack smiles his lopsided goofy grin at me, making my heart flutter in my chest nervously.
“I guess it’ll just have to be a surprise.” A smirk plays on my lips as I drop his hand to climb into the drivers side of the car, I had gone out of my way to pick up the small pieces of shit that usually littered the floor, worried that maybe part 1 of the night wouldn’t be as great as he was hoping but then, maybe I would make up for it tonight.
“Ugh, I’m so bad with surprises.” Jack chuckles and winks at me as I pull out of our school parking lot, leaving all the assholes in our life behind for who knows how long.
“Well I hope you’ll like this one.” I smile over at him hopeful. Jack immediately starts shifting through my CD collection I keep wedged between the seats and in the glove box.
Jack chuckles, “Take off your pants.”
“What?” My heart skips a beat in my chest. Like this? Now?
“It’s a good album.” He nods holding up the old cracked album he gave me almost two years ago, sliding the CD into the CD player, the sound of Blink-182 filling up the car.

“How do you not like Blink?” Jack groans and hits the throw pillow that sits on the couch next to him.
“I don’t know. I guess they’re just a little overrated?” I feel the blood rush to my cheeks, I never really listened to them, some of my friends said they sucked so I never listened…
“Here.” Jack gets up and walks over to his guitars case, shifting through it he pulls out a Black CD, “Educate yourself.” He tosses it over at me, it falls on the table in front of me, the plastic cracking a bit.

“We were Dicks back then.” Jack chuckles and closes his eyes listening contentedly,
“We still are Dicks.” I laugh in agreement, smiling as Jack reaches over and rests his hand on my thigh, rubbing up and down gently.
“Speaking of Dicks…” Jack grins and winks at me,
“You need to learn how to control yours.” I smirk at him and keep driving, ignoring the hand, which he slowly inches upward. Though I want to give into the damn horny boy who sits next to me, I do my best to remain calm, to keep myself from doing something stupid and ruin everyone’s plans for tonight.
“Well are we getting to wherever you’re taking me soon?” He whines, “I’m bored…”
“You literally just put in a CD” I laugh and roll my eyes at him, “We should be close.”
“I feel like I should be worried…” Jack mutters and looks out the window as we start to leave the city.
“Don’t worry, I’m not murdering you or anything.” I smile as I look around for the bowling alley we went to on our first date, though it was bought up by a bigger bowling chain, it’s still special in my opinion. It just went from being a dump for us to pay two dollars for a round to a full-out establishment with laser tag and an arcade with nicer bowling alleys.
“Are you serious?” Jack laughs and grins widely at me as he recognizes the establishment,
“What? Don’t want to get your ass beat again?” I smirk at him and find a parking spot, not wasting any time to get out ahead of him.
“Please. You cheated last time.” Jack hops out of the car after me and holds a hand out.
“You wanna bet?”
