Alex and Jack walked out to the car parked on the driveway and went for a drive. They agreed to pick up Chinese food for the trio. While Jack was in the passanger seat, he got a text from Ben.
-"Hey dude. Heard any news on Cassadee? Hows ri doing?"
-"Shes doing better, still a little shook up. Going to get Chinese. Sup?"
-"Smoking weed. Zack wants to meet you guys. I talk about you all the time."
-"Come to the hospital after you come down. I'm sure Rian would like seeing you."
The boys drove down to the best chinese place in Baltimore. (Well the best buffet chinese place). The two boys walked into the resturant and ordered two orders of sesame chicken, three orders of fried rice, six egg rolls, tweleve crab raggons, and two orders of beef brocolli and chicken. Alex paid for the meal with Rians debit card, like the boy had asked. Rian always downed his sorrow in chinese food. After they left the resturant, Alex drove to Rian's house on the south side of Baltimore. Jack may have had it bad, but at least he didn't live on the south side of Baltimore. Rian's parents were divorced. His mother remarried, but he would rather live with his father, than live with his mom and Dennis. Alex drove up to Rian's house and Jack ran out of the car and up to the door of the small house.
"WHO'S THERE?" A shaggy voice yelled from inside.
Jack coughed and said "It's Jack.. Jack Barakat, Rian's friend?"
Footsteps came closer to the door, and as Mr. Dawson opened the door he looked at Jack and said.
"Ey boy. Whatcha need?"
"Rian wanted us to pick him up some clothes and his drum sticks?"
"well he's got his clothes here, but all 'is drum stuff he left at Kathie's from da weekend. Boy said he had to practice for some solo thing after school on fridays or sumthin."
"Alright, could I run back there?"
"Go 'head boy."
Jack walked back to Rian's room it was small and covered in posters of the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Blink-182 and New Found Glory. Jack found a pile of what he assumed were clean clothes and stuffed them into a walmart bag that was on the floor. He grabbed underwear, jeans, sweatpants, and tshirts. He grabbed a blanket off Rian's bed and took the deodorant off his dresser. He tripped over a phone charger as he left, so he grabbed that too.
"Thanks Mr. Dawson!" Jack yelled as he left the house.
Alex drove back to the hospital and took the food out of the car while Jack carried Rian's things. Alex and Jack walked to the waiting room they had occupied the last few days and found Rian sitting in a chair in a corner playing with a kids toy.
"Hey Ri! Having fun?!"
"God Jack can you keep your voice down. Thanks for grabbing my stuff though Jacky. COME ON!! Let's go, they just transfered Cassadee to the ICU."
"Alright Ri, but could you take your blanket? I don't want to think about what I'm touching..."
"Alright you freak. Come on, let's go! It's the 10th floor. I'm so happy. I get to see Cass!!!"
