Sit Back, Gotta Catch My Breath
I Don't Wanna Say Goodnight
I sighed as I watched the credits for Home Alone scrolled across the screen for the third time since I came home with Jack. I honestly don't know what his obsession with this movie is. I mea, yeah, it's a good movie, but not that good. Jesus.
He stood up and was about to restart it again when I cleared my throat, causing him to turn and look at me.
"Um… How about we do something other than watch Home Alone?" I suggested.
Jack sat back down next to me. "Like what?" he asked, smiling.
I shrugged and smiled back at him. "I don't know. But, I really don't feel like watching it again."
His smile faltered and he sighed. "But it's such an amazing movie…" he whined.
I placed my hand on his cheek. "It is. But we've already watched it three times."
He closed his eyes and leaned into my touch a little bit. He hummed in reply and opened his eyes to look at me again. He bit his lip and placed a hand behind my head and leaned in a little bit.
I leaned in as well, meeting him half-way and pressing our lips together.
I felt him smile behind the kiss and I smiled back. I pulled away with him, and saw something I didn't expect.
I saw sadness in his eyes.
My eyebrows pulled together and I placed my hand on his knee. "Jack, what's the matter?"
He looked down at my hand and sighed. "I don't know… It's just…" He sighed again. "I don't know."
I scooted closer to him and lifted his chin up and made him look at me in the eyes. "I'll ask again. What's wrong?"
He bit his lip and thought for a second. "I'm just confused… I've never had feelings for a guy, and it's just… different."
I nodded and dropped my hand back down to his knee. "Yeah. It's definitely different… But, in a good way, right?"
The sadness in his eyes lightened up a bit as he nodded. "Yeah. It's most definitely in a good way."
"Then why the confusion, Jacky?"
He half-smiled at his pet name, and responded. "Because I don't know what to call us."
I bit my lip. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, like, what are we? Best friends? Friends with benefits?" He paused for a second. "Boyfriends?"
My stomach flipped when he said 'boyfriends'. "I kind of like the last idea," I said, looking down as my face grew warm.
I heard him chuckle lightly. "I do, too."
I looked up at him and smiled. "So… boyfriends, then?"
He didn't answer with a yes or no, but with a firm kiss on my lips. And when he didn't pull away, I slowly laced my fingers behind his neck.
We sat there kissing for a couple minutes before I left his tongue trace my bottom lip. I hesitated for a second, but then granted him access. Our tongues ran against each other as we explored on another's mouths. We pulled back a few minutes later and smiled at each other.
"Boyfriends," he finally answered.
