A Tongue Like a Nightmare That Cut Like a Blade

“Have you ever written a song?”

Alex was determined to get Aurora to talk. Normally, he would go out and hang with the other bands before signing, but he decided to stay on the bus with Aurora and Jasmine. It was a very awkward moment for him. He was just standing across from her with a bottle of water in his hand and taking glances of her every once and awhile.
This was a different story for Aurora. Aurora was used to having people around her and not speak to her. Actually, she found it awkward when they did try to communicate with her. She wasn’t used to people paying attention to her. Aurora was always the girl in the background not uttering a word.
Finally, Alex had the guts to try to speak to her. “The weathers nice today.” Alex mentally slapped himself. He’s trying to get this girl in front of him to open up, and he brings up the weather? That’s stupid for just plain talking to anyone.
“It’s ok,” Aurora signed back.
Alex was surprised that she even signed back at all. He found it hard to believe that she would give her opinion on small talk. “What’s your favorite kind of weather?”
The auburn haired girl shrugged. “I guess I prefer it when it’s raining.”
Alex slowly nodded. “It’s good for just staying inside and writing new songs. you aren’t distracted as much as you would be if it was sunny out.”
“Exactly.”
Exactly? What exactly did that mean? Did that mean that she liked that it was less distracting or did she mean that it was better condition to write or both? That was when he remembered seeing her writing in a black book while she laid down in her bunk last night. It didn’t look like Aurora had noticed him, so that would make sense why he wouldn’t know anything about her liking to write.
“Have you ever written a song?” Perhaps this question will allow him to reach the next chapter of her story.
Aurora thought for a moment before deciding that it wouldn’t hurt for him to know that. “Yes.”
“Is that what you write in that black book?”
Aurora’s eyes went wide. How did he know about her book? “How do you know about that?”
“I saw you writing in it last night.” She slowly nodded. “What kind of songs have you written?”
“I’m not telling.”
“Oh, ok.” Well, at least he found out a little bit about her.
Silence started to fill the bus again. Alex’s eyes avoided her Aurora until he got a glimpse of her signing. “I hope you do good tonight.”
“Oh, thanks. You’re staying here. right?” She nodded. “If Alesia doesn’t come to watch us tomorrow, will you?” She shrugged this time. “Well, ok.” Alex felt like he wasn’t going to be getting anything more out of her, so he decided that he might as well hang with his friends. “I’m going to go see what everyone is doing.”
Aurora could tell that he didn’t really want to leave, but he just couldn’t stand the awkwardness. “It’s ok. I understand.”
After Alex left, Aurora just sat there in silence until that silence was broken by the sound of Jasmine. The young adult was about to take Alesia’s laptop into the nursery to put music on, but all of her movements stopped when she saw the acoustic guitar just sitting there. Aurora thought about it for a second before going over and picking it up.
The auburn haired girl took the guitar to the nursery and sat down next to Jasmine’s crib. It wasn’t like anyone was going to be back soon, and Jasmine was just a baby. It’s not like she would really be breaking her promise then. Aurora put the guitar in her lap and got into position. Her lips parted and a sound came out, a song came out. Aurora started to sing her favorite song by All Time Low.
My ship went down
In a sea of sound.
When I woke up alone I had everything:
A handful of moments I wished I could change
And a tongue like a nightmare that cut like a blade.

In a city of fools,
I was careful and cool,
But they tore me apart like a hurricane...
A handful of moments I wished I could change
But I was carried away.

Give me therapy.
I'm a walking travesty
But I'm smiling in everything.
Therapy...
You were never a friend to me
And you can keep all your misery.

My lungs gave out
As I faced the crowd.
I think that keeping this up could be dangerous.
I'm flesh and bone,
I'm a rolling stone
And the experts say I'm delirious.

Give me therapy.
I'm a walking travesty
But I'm smiling in everything.
Therapy...
You were never a friend to me
And you can take back your misery.

Arrogant boy,
Love yourself so no one has to.
They're better off without you.
(They're better off without you.)

Arrogant boy,
Cause a scene like you're supposed to.
They'll fall asleep without you.
You're lucky if your memory remains.

Give me therapy.
I'm a walking travesty
But I'm smiling in everything.
Therapy...
You were never a friend to me
And you can take back your misery.

Therapy...
I'm a walking travesty
But I'm smiling in everything.
Therapy...
You were never a friend to me
And you can choke on your misery.

Jasmine was fast asleep by the time that she finished the song. A smile appeared on Aurora’s mouth. Perhaps someday, she can have a life. Someday.

@Rae.Barakitten
When I first put my stories up, there was an option when creating a story. I've been asked this before, but when I looked to find it, it wasn't there anymore. As far as I know, they don't have the option anymore. It would be nice if it was there again since this story and another of mine need it, but sadly, it's not there.

Thanks! That's one of the best comments that I've ever gotten. As I say in real life because I'm a Japan loving anime freak. Arigatou gozaimasu!

This is so heartbreakingly perfect
@missymoo93
I'm happy you found it cute. I didn't know if it was going to be too cheesy because I'm a hopeless romantic that loves that stuff, and sometimes I think of really cheesy stuff.
Thanks!
