Anna's POV:
I was sitting on the park bench, waiting for him to show up so we can talk finally. Its been over a month since I went to the hospital due to Jack breaking my wrist, and since then I haven't spoken to him. I decided enough was enough and that we had to talk. I didn't want our friendship to end this way. Even if he starts dating someone else, I'll be happy for him. Thats what we want for each other right? To see each other happy with someone? I'm happy with Zack, and I wish he can see that.

I see his car pull into the parking lot and he gets out. He walks over to me and takes off his sun glasses. He sits down by me, keeping some distance between us. I think that was best.

"So. You wanted to talk?" I nod, "yeah. I do." "About what?" "About us. About our friendship." "Oh. That. Look Anna I been thinking and-" "What are you saying Jack!?" "I'm saying that I miss you Anna. I haven't spoken to the person who's been best friend since second grade for over a month and its killing me everyday. I would rather have you back as my best friend instead of a girl I first started to have a crush on. I realized after what I did... that maybe we weren't meant to be as a couple. That we should have stayed friends. I think our friendship worked better that way."

I look up at him, he feels the same exact way.

I lean up and kiss his cheek and he smiles down at me. "I feel the same way. I think our relationship worked best when we were friends. Just friends." He nods, "yeah. Exactly."

"Jack... I'm happy with Zack. Really I am. And I wish you could see that..." "I realized that when we were at the hospital actually... Thats also when I realized you weren't mine from the very beginning. You were meant to be with Zack. I want you to be happy, believe me." "I believe you, and I want you to be happy as well."

He nods and looks in my eyes, he slowly leans down and lightly kisses me before he pulls away. "What was that for?" "A friendly gesture. Friend," he smiles. His usual smile towards me.

I hug him tightly and he hugs me back.

From the very beginning Jack and I weren't meant to be a couple, we were meant to be each other's best friend through everything no matter what. In the end. I was meant to be with Zack. And who ever Jack might end up with. And I'll be happy for him as well.
