As I was back into the TV room, Jack smiled at me and moved to the edge of the couch, so I could sit by his side. Silently, he handed me a controller. We played Black Ops and said random things from time to time.

“You’re good.” He said, laughing a little bit.

“Thank you sir.” I laughed back at him.

We were acting a little bit stupid, I don’t know exaclty why. Maybe because we felt sleepy and tired or problably just because the situation was way too awkward. And then, the unexpected happened. The TV turned off and everything went dark.

“What the fuck just happened?” I said, almost jumping into Jack’s arms, not because I wanted to, but because I was really scared of the dark, ok maybe I just wanted to. Shut up Alex.

“Blackout maybe, it’s raining really hard outside.” He said, getting up off the couch and looking through the window. It really was raining like hell.

“Well… I guess I should try to sleep then…” I said, trying to find the door to get out of that goddamn room. “It would be nice if I could find my bedroom though.” I whispered.

“Is the kid afraid of the dark?” He laughed. “I can take you to your bedroom, but only if you do me a favor.” He moved closer, covering my eyes with his hands, what the fuck man?

“Do I have a choice?” I chuckled, nervous as hell.

“No you don’t.” He whispered.

“I want to sleep man, just tell me what you want.” I said, sighing.

“No big deal, I-I was just wondering if you could help me escaping from my dad today after lunch, I need to go out but he hates my friends.” He removed his hands from my eyes and started to guide me through the dark corridors.

If I got disappointed with the favor? Maybe. But it made me wonder where have his father been this whole time, May told me he was a little bit crazy, this kind of scared me.

“Why does he hate your friends?” I asked.

“Oh, you’ll find out eventually.” He laughed.

“And how am I supposed to help you with that?” Where the fuck was my bedroom?

“You could go out with me, and when he asked me where I was going, I could say I’m going out with you, and he’d never find out.” He finally stopped moving. “We’re here.”

“Wouldn’t it be even more weird if you say you’re going out with a guy that is five years younger than you and a complete stranger?” I pouted, knowing he wouldn’t see it anyway.

“You’re just a friend, that’s absolutely normal, I have many friends that are your age.” He laughed, I felt stupid, I got that whole “going out” thing wrong, kill me.

“Ok… so… we’ll see what happens after we wake up.” I said, trying to find a way to open the door.

“Ok kid, sleep tight.” He chuckled, stroking my hair.

“Don’t call me a kid you fucker.” Thanks for opening, door.

“Don’t call me a fucker you kid.” He laughed, dissapearing into the darkness.

I closed the door and tried to turn on the lights. Nothing happened. So I just ran on the direction of the bed and layed there.

It took me only a couple of minutes to fall sleep and have the weirdest dreams about a random guy.

"ALEX WAKE UP, WE'LL BE LATE FOR SCHOOL"

What a wonderful way to wake up, with a May knocking crazily at your door and shouting fucking loud.

I looked at the clock, I was really going to be late. I got up and dressed as fast as I could, got my hair done, brushed my teeth and got my bag, I looked like shit, but who cares.

I opened the door and ran downstairs. May was having breakfast with her mom and a boy I haven't seen before, I suppose it was Joe. May smiled at me and then I heard screams coming from the kitchen.

"WHY DON'T YOU GO OUT AND DO SOMETHING USEFUL? I SHOULD JUST KICK YOU OUT OF MY HOUSE." Male screams, it could be Leeyh, the older brother, or it could be their father.

"I always did my best to make you proud, and you know what? I'm fucking tired. I really should just get my stuff and leave, because you don't care about me, I don't want to be like you, I want to be happy doing things I like." This was definetly Jack's voice, he sounded really calm.

"Doing things you like? What do you mean? BY PLAYING ON THAT SHITTY BAND OF YOURS? You really don't deserve to be my son." Now I was sure it was the father, and he was laughing.

"Don't. You. Dare. Talking about my band and my friends like this." He was really getting angry now.

"I'm going to work now, I'm tired of your bullshit." The father said.

"Go then! Because that's all you do right? You don't even care about your family anymore. Did you know one of your sons got sick while you were working? You obviously don't know, because you don't fucking care, you only care about yourself and your money." Jack was pissed.

"Tired. Of. Your. Bullshit." The older man said, opening the door of the kitchen and walking fast through the dinner room without even noticing me. I couldn't even see his face.

Jack came out a couple of minutes later and walked upstairs, without even looking at me, or anybody in the room.

May finished her breakfast, brushed her teeth and met me on the hall.

"I'm so sorry for this..." She said, and hugged me, starting to cry.

"It's not your fault... relax ok?" I said, I didn't know how to help.

"Let's go... we are already late." She forced a smile.

While we were walking to school, I got a text.

How the hell did he know my number?
