Star Light, Star Bright

Netflix

“And that’s pretty much how you work this,” Alex tells Jack. “I’m sure that you can find some shows on here that’s good.”
Jack takes the remote from the elder and starts to look through the TV shows. A lot of them sounded interesting. In fact, there seemed to be too many that sounded interesting. The taller teen glances at Alex for a second to find that he’s just sitting on the couch, waiting for Jack to pick a show. Of course, Jack has no idea what to pick. If only there was a way for him to just randomize it or something. Since he doesn’t want to keep the elder waiting, he picks the next show that looks interesting.
“Oh,” Alex says, “I actually haven’t seen this one yet.”
“I can pick another one if you want.”
“No, actually I’ve been meaning to start watching this.”
“OK.”
Jack makes himself comfortable on the couch and starts to watch the show. It’s actually pretty interesting. It’s about these two guys named Aidan and Josh, who rent a house together. They find out that this ghost named Sally haunts the place, and they can see her because Aiden is a vampire and Josh is a werewolf. The show is about their lives as roommates. It’s the American version of a British TV show by the same name.
The Lebanese teen thinks that it’s a pretty good show, and after the first episode ends, they put on the next one. Right after the next episode starts, Alex drapes his arm over the other’s shoulder. This causes Jack to tense up. The elder notices this and quickly pulls his arm away.
“I’m sorry,” he apologizes. “I’m kind of a cuddler, but I won’t do anything that you don’t want me to.”
“Well, I guess it’s ok.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah, go ahead.”
Alex carefully puts his arm back where it was and continues to watch the show with Jack. He smiles when they are halfway through that episode because Jack leans into Alex. The elder is happy that Jack’s so much into the show because he’d hate for him to see that he’s blushing. He doesn’t want Jack to know that he thinks he’s cute in that way until he gets some more memories back and can function in the modern world a little bit better. Besides, he doesn’t even know if Jack is gay. Although, the way that he can be pretty feminine makes it seem like he is. Hopefully when the time comes, Jack will start to like him too.
Although the older teen didn’t mean it, he ends up falling asleep with his head on Jack’s shoulder. Jack doesn’t really mind it actually. He doesn’t know what it is about Alex that makes him want him close. It’s almost like Alex is a vampire, who’s bringing Jack close to him with his mind powers. That’s what Jack compares it to because that’s the only thing that he can compare it to. He’s confused about the whole thing and can’t even ask anyone since the only person that he really knows is Alex. Perhaps getting some sleep will help him out.
The next day, Jack wakes up alone on the couch. He rubs his eyes a little before noticing the letter on the coffee table. He picks it up and reads it.
Jack,
I had to go to class today early, and I also have my last day at my shitty job before I start working at Hot Topic. You can watch some shows on Netflix, but don’t watch the one that we were watching last night. I don’t want you getting ahead of me. Doctor Who is on there though. If you like horror stories, American Horror Story is on there. It’s really fucking good. If you get hungry, there is some cereal that you can eat. Go ahead and look through the kitchen. I don’t mind. I’d tell you to make a frozen dinner, but I didn’t tell you how to use the microwave. I’ll do that when I get home.
Alex

Jack smiles at the letter before getting up and making himself a box of cereal. He turns Netflix on and starts to watch the show that Alex suggested. It’s actually pretty interesting. He gets through episodes before Alex get’s home. When the elder comes into Jack’s view, he can tell that he’s tired. He doesn’t really want to bother him, but Alex decides to go over to Jack and grab his hand. The nineteen-year-old takes the younger into the kitchen.
“I’m really worn out from work. They worked me harder than normal, so I’m going to show you how to use the microwave before I take a nap. I’d love to hang out with you some more, but I really am tired.”
“Don’t worry. It’s fine. I get it.”
“OK. I just don’t want to hurt your feelings or anything because I’m not trying to avoid you or anything. I’m just tired.”
“It’s fine, and Alex?”
“Yeah?”
“What’s a microwave?”

Notes

I'm sorry this was late and short. I don't know why, but I'm really into writing this fanfic that I'm writing on the side that I'm not putting online yet. I already have a prologue and three chapters for it. That, and I've been really tired which is weird. Anyway, I've been trying to bring myself to update all my stories since they're all late. Some of them are really late, but I can't do them all tonight because I have a midterm tomorrow that I need to study for. I'm home this weekend, so I'm going to try to update all my stories then. It's annoying that I know what's going to happen in each one, but I just can't write it.
Anyway, sorry for the shitty chapter, and I hope you like how this is going.
