Oliver's POV:
I stare at the crowd, people passing me. People always pass me. Because they don't trust me by just looking at me. Because I don't look like them. Well I'm not like them either, but I still have to make a living. I fix the fruit on my display, its only a few but its enough to get me some money for other food. I'm tired of eating just fruit. And the best fruit to get is from the castle grounds. I hear some men yell for people to get out of the way, "there's no need to yell at them," I hear a sweet voice say. I look over and see the princess with three soldiers. I watch her as she walks, she's the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. She is also the kindest. She says hello to everyone and I quickly fix my display for her. She walks up to me and I look down. "Hello your majesty." "Please call me Clara. And please don't be shy, I would love to see your handsome face."
I slowly look up at her, my hair falls over my eyes and I quickly push it out of my eyes. She smiles down at me, my heart beats faster. "How much is the fruit?" "As much as you want to pay, your- Clara." She smiles and pulls out three gold coins, oh wow. She holds out her hand and I quickly hold out my hand for her to drop the coins in my hand. She grabs the only apple and takes a bite, causing her to smile and close her eyes. "Apples are my favorite. Thank you. What is your name?" "Oliver." "Oliver, such a handsome name." "Your majesty, we should get going." She nods and smiles back at me, "don't change yourself Oliver, I love your hair covering your eyes. You look mysterious." She walks off and I watch her leave with her soldiers. My heart still beating fast.

"Do you really think the princess cares for you?," one guy laughs at me. "She'll never love you, she has to marry a prince." "Besides, why would she love you? Your a outcast." "She's better off marrying someone, like me." "Or any of us." "Not just you." I feel my magic surge through me, I don't use my magic for evil... I don't use my magic for evil... I was born a dark warlock, but I don't want to be like the rest of my family. I want live a normal life. "Shut up," I mumble. I keep my head down, my hair covering my eyes. One guy pushes my back but I catch my balance. "She'll never love you." Two guys push on my back hard and I fall forward. I hit the ground, I keep a hold tight on my bag that has the fruit and gold coins from Clara. One guy kicks my side and I close my eyes, they'll leave me soon. They laugh and walk off. I lay on the ground and let out a deep breath, I have always been alone. Even as a child, I was always alone. I always wanted to be loved by someone, and the first time that someone has shown me kindness, was Clara.

I pick some more apples from the tree, I need more in case Clara comes back to town to shop. I hear a girl scream and quickly turn around, a girl is riding a running horse. "Help!!," she screams. I drop the apples and my bag and run over. The horse is to fast. I know they only way I can catch up to her is if I use my magic. But I was told if I start using my magic, the darkness that is hiding inside me will start to spread through me. Then will soon consume me. I have never used magic once in my life. "Help!!!" That voice. It's Clara!!! I.. I... I have to do it... I have to do it for her... I feel my magic surge through me and I close my eyes, I focus on my magic more closely. "Run," I whisper. I take off running at a impossible speed and I run towards Clara. I reach Clara and grab her waist, I pull her off of the horse, "stop," I whisper. I slowly stop running, I hold Clara close to me and we fall to the ground.
I quickly get off her, she's breathing fast and her eyes are shut. "Your majesty, your majesty, its okay... Its okay..." I run my fingers through her hair and hold her close to me. I slowly rub her head and she slowly starts breathing normally. She slowly opens her eyes and stares up at me. Her hands are still shaking and I hold one of them. "Its okay Clara, your safe." She starts crying and hugs me tightly. I rub her back as she cried, "its okay Clara..." She lets go of me and I let her pull back. She stares at me and brushes my hair out of my eyes. I follow the soldier down the castle hall, I have been summoned by the kind to speak to him. We keep walking and I see the king. I quickly straighten myself more as I walk up to him. "You must be Oliver." I nod to him. "I have heard about you Oliver, my daughter has told me about you." Clara told him about me? "My daughter is busy for the moment, but she told me how you are the one who saved her from her horse. And I thank you for that Oliver." "It was not a problem your majesty." "The reason I had you summoned here today was to offer you a position. To show my gratitude for saving my daughter, and seem to be good with horses, I want you to be our new stable boy." I stare at him in shock. He starts laughing, "my dear boy. Why that look?" "I-I I'm just surprised." He smiles warmly at me, "Oliver!" I turn around and see Clara running towards us. She runs up to me and wraps her arms around me, I keep my arms to my sides.
