Do you want me?

He is to die for

-Alex's POV-

Joyce Barakat seemed like a lovely lady. Today I was going to visit her house to see if I was suitable to rent her room. I have already decided to stay, if she says yes, because she seemed like a really nice person and I desperately needed somewhere to stay, to be honest I didn't really care where that much.

I packed the few possessions I have into my car, so I didn't have to ever come back to this disgusting hotel. I handed my room key in to the front desk and jogged through the rainy carpark. I only just jumped into my car in time before the rain started to pour down even more. I scowled at my hair, which was now un-straightened and completely soaked from that little downpour. Urgh I hated the rain sometimes. I shoved my car keys into the ignition and started the car. I turned my stereo right up to drown out the sound of the rain battering against the car roof.

As I pulled out of the car park I fished the scrap of paper, which I had written Joyce's address on, out of my jeans pocket. I sped down the dreary roads, perhaps a little faster than I should be going, singing at the top of my voice and trying not to make any wrong turnings. I managed to finally reach the correct house without getting too lost. The house was two story and made of a soft sandy-coloured stone. There was no front garden, only a gravely drive, which had one car parked on it. I stopped my car on the street and knocked on the brown front door. I was starting to feel slightly nervous now. I don't really know why, it was just one of those weird things that you wish would go away but it just wouldn't.

When the front door opened all my nervousness melted away as I was greeted by the kindest looking woman I've ever seen. She was the kind of person who had those eyes that seemed to constantly smile.
"Uou must be Alexander" she smiled.
"That's me", I replied, "and please call me Alex"
She ushered me inside, shutting the door behind me to keep the warm air contained within the house. Inside the house was fairly plain but not boring. The walls were a creamy-white colour with random ornaments, pictures and pieces of simple wooden furniture dotted around. The lady, who I'm assuming was Joyce, led me into a warm friendly-looking kitchen. She motioned for me to take a seat at the small round table and then sat down herself, opposite me.

We talked for almost half an hour as the lady (it turns out she was Joyce) assessed me as to wether I was a suitable candidate to rent her room. I really liked Joyce she was a lovely lady (how many times have I said that now?), and it seems like she also liked me as she offered me the room, which I gladly accepted. I finished putting my few possessions into my new room and unzipped my guitar case. I pulled out one of my most prized possessions, my beautiful acoustic guitar. I strummed a couple of chords to check everything was is working order, before leaning the instrument gently against the wall. I glanced around my new room. It was fairly small, but not too small. It contained a few items of furniture: a single bed; a small desk; a set of drawers and a small squishy armchair, tucked away in the corner. The window in the room looked out over the small street full of houses, of a very similar style to this one. Joyce had mentioned that she had a son, Jack I think his name was? I can't remember. Anyway his room was next to mine and from the Blink-182 poster on his door, he couldn't be all that bad. Could he?

I hopped back downstairs to accompany Joyce while she bustled about the kitchen, cooking and cleaning. Joyce and I chatted again about various things, I got on well with Joyce. Even after only knowing her for a few hours we already had a kind of mother and son relationship.

Our conversation was interrupted by the bang of the front door.
"I'm home" a voice called.

-Jack's POV-

I walked up my front drive, seeing an unfamiliar car parked in the street. Maybe this was the person who was renting out the room in our house? I slammed the front door, calling out to my mum to tell her I was home.
"Jack" my mum called, "just come in here for one minute"
I dumped my black rucksack, filled with schoolbooks and other crap, in the hallway and plodded into the kitchen. My mum was scurrying around, as usual. But there was also a strange man sat at the table. He had light caramel coloured hair that was slightly wavy, as if he had been caught out in the rain. His eyes were also caramel coloured, but a slightly darker shade. He looked fairly tall, it was hard to tell because he was sitting down. He was wearing a black zip-up hoodie and blue skinny jeans that were ripped all the way down.
"Hello Jack dear," my mother smiled, "this is Alex, the one who's going to be renting out our spare room."
Alex stood up, he was tall, and he stuck out his hand. I grasped it in a small handshake.
"Hi" I muttered, suddenly feeling slightly shy. I don't know why I felt so nervous around him. I'm sure that won't last for long though. Alex seemed like an alright guy though. He was pretty attractive, I'm sure he found it easy to pick up girls. If I swung that way I would totally go out with him. But then again maybe not he seemed to be a lot older than me.

I grabbed a slice of cake from the fridge, before heading upstairs to do 'homework'.

-Alex's POV-

"Jack, just come in here for one minute" Joyce called out.
So his name was Jack. A tall lanky boy stepped into the room. He had dark brown, almost black hair with chunks of blond running through it and deep chocolate coloured eyes. He was wearing a Green Day shirt and the skinniest jeans I have ever seen, it looked like they had been painted on.
"Hello jack dear," Joyce chirped "this is Alex, the one who's going to be renting out our spare room."
I stood up, offering my hand for Jack to shake.
"Hi" he muttered, accepting my hand. His voice was soft and deep at the same time. How is that even possible? He walked away from me, grabbing what I'm assuming was a piece of cake out the fridge and heading out the room.

Fuck, he was hot. I'm not scared to admit my sexuality, I'm gay and always will be. I usually don't tend to tell people unless I trust them though, I've had too much shit about that sort of thing and I've discovered it's easier to stay quiet. The problem here wasn't what people thought of me, it was Jack. I'm already immensely attracted to him and I've only known him for five minutes. But he was a lot younger than me and almost certainly straight. Urgh why does life have to be so unfair? Why can't I just be someone who falls for a girl he meets at the bar and gets no shit for it? I can't have him. I'm too old, he's too young. I guess I'll just have to settle with being friends. But oh god it's going to be hard to keep my emotions under control.
