So... Friday at noon?

Skinny Love

It was Saturday, the week after Jack and Alex had gone on their first date. The eldest male was leading his date through a field, his calloused hands covering the younger’s caramel eyes. The student giggled as he almost tripped and tried to pry Jack’s hands off his face.
“Where are you taking me?”
“I told you, it’s a secret. We’re here now anyway.”
As Jack’s hands collapsed down back at his sides he smiled as a gasp escaped Alex’s lips.
“Jack this is... Beautiful.”
A huge field stretched out in front of the boys, pink and violet flowers springing up everywhere even though it was the middle of December. Plush, electric green trees bordered the edges and birds sang their songs as squirrels and rabbits skittered about through the long grass. The afternoon sun cast a beautiful glow over the tree tops, causing odd shaped shadows to be formed from overlapping silhouettes. They were ever changing as the trees shook in the wind and the animals playing their parts in the scene scattered away because of the new human presence. The smell of pine and fresh water swan found the men in the afternoon breeze and the only things that could be heard was the faint sound of cars in the distance and the tweeting of birds of the squeaking and skittering of rabbits. As Alex took a deep breath in he could taste water vapour on his tongue, the fresh natural beauty of this place was a stark contrast to the place that he lived. It was gorgeous.
“It looks like this all year round. I don’t know how it does it, I guess it’s just magical.”
Alex smiled and quickly spun around, yanking Jack in to a hug.
“It’s lovely.”
“I brought you here because it’s a big part of my childhood.”
Jack muttered in to Alex’s ear as he wrapped his arms round his waist.
“On our first date you let me in to so much of your life that I thought it was only fair to show you a piece of mine.”
A grin spread across the younger’s lips and he chuckled.
“Thank you.”
Jack took Alex’s hand in his and led him down the edges of the field before pulling him under a tree and urging him to sit down. Laid out on the shorter grass was a red blanket, and on that blanket were two glasses of wine and an open basket of sandwiches and other foods.
“Wow Jack this is amazing.”
“Thanks, you gonna sit down?”
The student chuckled before nodding and sitting Indian style across from his date, sipping at his wine.
“You know, this is the first second date I’ve been on. Ever.”
Jack smirked and shook his head.
“I don’t believe you.”
“No really. Even with Caleb. We went on one date and then that was it. We never had any other dates after that.”
Jack’s smirk slowly disappeared and he looked in to the deep, crimson liquid swirling around in his glass.
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be, I’m not.”
Jack smiled again as Alex chuckled and the teacher shrugged.
“If it helps this is my first second date in over five years. I’m not very good at the whole date thing, I normally take them out, fuck them then leave and never call them back.”
A hiss escaped Alex’s lips and he laughed.
“That’s low.”
“I know, but not with you.”
A blush etched itself across both men’s cheeks and Alex’s cleared his throat nervously.
“So...I’m starving.”

--------
Jack and Alex were walking round the streets hand in hand, laughing as Alex told a story about how Zack had come home and covered the flat in piss and vomit.
“Seriously! I woke up and I was covered in spew and piss, he’d decided to stumble in and sleep on me so then in the night I woke up in a horrible pile of bodily fluids.”
The teacher burst in to a fit of giggles again and shook his head,
“I’m so sorry. I just- Oh god.”
They reached the stairs leading up to Alex’s flat and the younger boy smiled.
“Well this is me.”
“Yep.”
The men looked at each other for a while, smiling, before Alex looked up to his bedroom window that over looked the kid’s park across the street.
“You could come upstairs if you want... I have bad movies and alcohol. We didn’t really get to finish Home Alone last week, we could finish it now?”
Jack chuckled and nodded.
“Yeah. Yeah I’d like that.”
The men walked up to Alex’s flat, sat down and started the movie. About 15 minuets in and Alex had been slowly edging closer to Jack, thinking the teacher wouldn’t notice, of course he was wrong. Jack chuckled and pulled Alex in to his side, stretching out and wrapping his arms round the younger boy as he got comfy.
“Better?”
“Yes thanks.”
“So what are you doing for Christmas Alex?”
“Well I’m not going home because of my dad, and Zack’s going back to his parents. Rian will want to spend Christmas with mum and dad too, so I guess I’m alone this Christmas.”
The boy’s tone got sadder near the end of his statement and Jack bit his lip as he saw tears well in the corners of Alex’s eyes.
“You could come to mine for Christmas?”
“No Jack really that-“
“Shut up. It’s just going to be me and Matt, like it has been for the last six years. It’ll be better than staying here all alone, and you’ll be coming as a friend. It won’t be a date, and we’re not dating, so you’ll be coming over as a friend. Three friends spending Christmas together.”
Alex smiled as Jack rambled to himself, digging a deeper and deeper hole before he spluttered out an apology.
“I mean I don’t see you as just a friend obviously you’re more than that but I don’t- I mean we’re not dating. Not that I wouldn’t date you Alex I would but I mean not now I hardly know you that sounded really bitchy I’m sorry I just don’t want you spending Christmas alone and I-“
The younger boy chuckled and pushed his lips against Jack’s, silencing the word vomit he was spewing in to Alex’s ears.
“Shut up.”The boy muttered against Jack’s lips and smiled before Jack leant up slowly and tangled his fingers in Alex’s hair, standing up from the sofa and leading the younger boy in to his bedroom.

------------------

Alex stretched out on his bed and pouted as he felt the side of the bed next to him was cold. His fingers ran through the tangled mop of caramel streaked hair dangling over his forehead as he pulled on his boxers and walked in to the living room to see Zack sat on the sofa with a bowl of Lucky Charms and a piece of toast.
“Morning Lex.”
“Morning. Where’s Jack?”
“He left you something in the kitchen.”
The teen stumbled in to the kitchen, his skin slightly damp and sticky, and a smile sprung across his face as he saw McDonalds on the kitchen table. His feet took him swiftly towards it and a bright yellow note was taped to the brown bag he assumed his breakfast was in. His eyes scanned over the writing and his grin brightened.

Hey Lex,
Sorry I had to leave, but Matt needed me at the flat stupidly early. I brought you breakfast to say sorry. See you Christmas day, my place at 12? Call me?
Jack Baracock xx

Alex ripped open his food, the smell of warm meat and grease engulfing his senses while he put the food on a plate. As he sat down on the sofa and took a heavenly bite of the fast food Zack grinned at him.
“Dude, you are in way over your head.”
