Grow Up Jack

"Daddy!!," Adison runs over to me and I bend down to her level. She reaches me and I lift her up and hold her close, her small arms and legs wrapping around me. Adison starts crying and I close my eyes and force myself not to. "I missed you daddy," Adison cries. "I missed you to Adi." Adi lets me see her face and I kiss her all over. "Daddy don't go again." "I'm not going anywhere Adison, I promise." "Jack." I look to my right and see Sarah. "Adison, do you want to go play with Alex?" "Yeah!" I put her down and she runs off where Alex is in the hall. "Well I guess there's nothing left that I can do to keep you away then." "Yeah, equal custody." "I don't understand why the judge decided on that." "She listened to Adison, Adison loves us both. It won't be fair if one of us can't see her anymore and I think the judge realized that." Sarah lets out a deep sigh and shakes her head. "We need to work this out between the two of us, when we will have her and who she mainly stays with." "I agree, we need to do what's best for Adison."

"So Adison is with me when I'm home and not on tour. And Adison is with you when I am on tour." "That is correct Jack." "Okay, that works." "Especially when Adison has school Jack. I moved to Towson in order for Adison to stay at the same school." "I can't agree even more, Adison needs to have a good education." "What about holidays and birthdays." "I think the three of us need to be together, holidays and birthdays are more important." "So we're at a agreement now for us to sign." "I believe so." We both sign the agreement and Sarah puts it away. "I never imagined doing this you know." "Did you really plan on Adison not being in my life Sarah. She was bound to meet me sometime." "I know. I just hoped when she got older you wouldn't be famous anymore." "Why?" "Because that's what Alli wanted." I stare at Sarah in confusion. "Alli told me when Adison was old enough and you were no longer famous, that you could meet her." "Sarah you don't know how long the band is gonna last." "I know Jack, but bands don't last forever. And Alli knew that."

"So you were hoping that we would break up in the future." "Yes." "Sarah I can tell you that will never happen. And the fact you wanted to wait that long is ridiculous. That wouldn't have been fair to me and Adison." "I know that Jack." Sarah stands up, I can hear the crowd screaming for the band before us. "Tour is almost over Sarah." "I know. But that was the deal." "I know." "Its time for you to say goodbye for now Jack." I walk out of the room with Sarah and go in the room Adison is in with the guys. "Daddy!!" Adison runs over to us and I lift her up and hold her. "Its time to go Adi," Sarah tells her. "Nooo, I wanna be with daddy." "I know you do, but you'll see him soon." I look at the guys and back at Adison. "How about you and Adi stay for the show." "Jack, I will not allow her to hear-" "I have an idea."

"Heeeeey everyone!!," Alex yells in the mic. "I know we're supposed to be playing right, but we want to tell you all something." "My daughter Adison is here tonight," that set off a lot of screams. "And she is watching side stage." "But we had to make a promise to a friend of ours so that Adison could watch the show." "Tonight there will not be any dirty jokes." "Or cussing." People screamed in confusion and started cussing back at us. "Hey hey! That's a bad word!," I smile and pointed at a guy which made people laugh. "You don't say that word mister!" "Anyway, lets get this show started!!!"

"She's dancing alone, I'm ready to go but she's so," the crowd sings. We decided to leave out the song with cuss words tonight. I look out of the corner of my eye and I see Adison running out towards me which caused more screams. I smile down at Adison and I quickly lift her up and put her on the platform in front of me. I continue to play and dance with her, and she sang along. After the song I pick her up and hold her, "hey everyone this is my daughter Adison." A bunch of people started screaming hi. "Hi," Adison says shyly into the mic. I smile at her and kiss her head. "Hey Adison, are you allowed to have candy?" "No, daddy doesn't let me Alex." "Why?" "Because sugar!!!," me and Adison yell together. "And Adison is allergic to nuts, so please no more candy guys." "Unless its for us and not her," Alex speaks up. I smile at Adison and she kisses my cheek. "I love you daddy," Adison's voice picks up on the mic.

Ever since Adison came into my life, my life has changed for the better. I'm healthier now because I quit drinking for her. I'm eating healthier for her. Everything I do is for her and that's the way I want it. Before Adison came I was a drunk pervert, but now I'm a responsible man who puts his daughter first. I told myself I would never love another girl as much I loved Alli. But all of that has changed. "I love you too Adison."
