Hospital
Alex just stared at her thighs as the nurses helped Max to change into one of the hospital gowns. She was so thin and he could see her hipbones, but that wasn’t what he cared about. It was the blood that was both dried and slowly pouring down on them that scared him. Max cried and trembled, and a sob from her snapped Alex out of his trance. He hurried over to help them and for her to lean on him. Jack, Rian and Zack was waiting outside and as soon as they had cleaned Max up, and gotten her into a bed he would go out to tell them that they could go home.
"So Mrs Gaskarth, we are going to go and get some more blood for you, and an ultrasound" the nurse said. Alex looked at Max and she was so pale and she looked so broken. Her eyes was empty and lifeless, and he saw how her jaw slowly fell down.
"Max?" he asked and then the machine started to beep. The nurses all turned around and looked really shocked, before the jumped over her and started to figure out what had happened.
"MAX?!" Alex yelled and someone pushed him out from the room. Jack, Rian and Zack all looked up and stared at him, and Alex just stared at the door. Pale, frustrated and panicked.

A few minutes later they told him he could come in again, and when he saw her he just stared at her. She had a tube in her mouth, her eyes was close and she looked even paler than usual.
"What happened?" he asked.
"Some kind of after shock from the trauma at the venue" a doctor explained.
"And the twins?" Alex asked and looked at him. Then a nurse came in with the ultrasound and they started to prep Max. Alex just stood there with his arms crossed, almost hugging himself. They moved the stick over her stomach and he sighed a little i relief when he could hear a heartbeat.
"Seems like baby number 1 is okay" the nurse said and continued. Alex heart was racing and he just stared at Max paled face. Then they found a second heartbeat and Max own.
"No babies have been lost, the miscarriage was a failure" the nurse said.
"So it was a miscarriage?" Alex asked and the doctor nodded.
"All the symptoms says it was, but as you can see the twins are okay… But there is something worrying me" he said.
"What?" Alex asked.
"Even if she’s been through a trauma and stress, there’s still a pretty small chance that a miscarriage would go through… So we are a little bit concerned what caused it" he said.
"Do you know?" Alex asked.
"No, we are going to take some tests to see. I think I know what it is, but I need to see if it’s what I thin it is" he said. Alex nodded and walked over to Max. Jack, Rian and Zack walked in as well as they waited for the answers.

Alex looked up when the doctor came back and he didn’t look pleased.
"It seems like it was what I thought" he said.
"And what was that?" Rian asked.
"To keep it simple… the babies have a different blood type than Maxine, in this case one that doesn’t go well with Maxine’s blood type. So her body isn’t coping with the babies" he said.
"So they are like.. poison to her?" Jack asked.
"Get rid off them" Alex snapped and his eyes grew wide. Everyone looked at them.
"You can relax Mr Gaskarth, as long as she’s here we can take care of her and when she’s far enough into the pregnancy we can remove the babies, and they will survive. Because then they will be old enough to manage it outside the womb" he said and Alex nodded.
"Do that" he said.
"I’ll go and call Matt, and tell him to cancel our next tour" Jack said.
"Do that" Alex said again and nodded. There was no way he would leave her alone. Not now. Not like this.

About an hour later Max woke up again and Alex jumped up from his chair. A nurse helped her get the tube out from her mouth.
"Max love, I’m here" he said and took her hand. She stared at him and then she swallowed. Then she saw her stomach.
"Are they okay?" she asked.
"They are fine, but there is something I need to tell you" he said and she looked at him. And Alex started to tell her what the doctor had told him, and the more he told the more shocked she looked before she started to cry.
"It’s okay love, they’ll be okay… The twins will be okay" he said and gave her a small smile. Then he saw that she shivered and he took off his purple hood, and made her put it on. She wrapped it around herself and let out a sob.
"It’ll be okay" he said and kissed her forehead.
