I wake and do my usual routine, but as I'm brushing my teeth, I heard the door to mine and Michelle's room open close. I walk out of the bathroom with my toothbrush still in my mouth to find Michelle crying on her bed.

"What's wrong Michelle," I asked her, mumbling a little due to the toothbrush in my mouth.

"Me and Chase broke up," she sobbed, "He cheated on me."

"I am so sorry Michelle," I sympathized with her and hugged her as she continued to cry.

"I thought we were perfect, but I was wrong," she cried.

I finished brushing my teeth and checked my phone, finding a text from Alex waiting for me.

Can Jack, my best friend and fellow band mate, tag along today for lunch? He's bored and pestering me about meeting you. -AWG

"Hey MichelleIknow the perfect thing to lift your spirits and forget that douche bag," I told her.

"What would that be Court," she asked.

"I'm going out to lunch with a friend and he's bringing his own along," I told her, "Why don't you come along so we have a double date thing going on?"

"I'll tag along I guess," Michelle sighed.

Michelle and I sat at a table outside one of the dining halls on campus, waiting for Alex and Jack to get here. When I spotted Alex in one of his beanies, I instantly stood up and waved him over. He and his companion came over, out of the corner of my eye I saw Michelle freeze up.

"He's your 'friend'," she asked with air quotes, "That's Alex fucking Gaskarth and Jack Barakat."

"I knew about Alex," I whispered to her.

"Hey Courtney," Alex greeted me when he reached us, pulling me into a hug.

"This my roommate, Michelle," I told him, "She's a fan of your band Alex."

"Cool," Alex smiled and held out his hand to her, which she took eagerly, "It's nice to meet you Michelle."

"So you're the girl Alex told me about," Alex's skunk haired companion said to me, "I'm Jack, his best friend and wing man from time to time."

"It's nice to meet you too, Jack," I replied.

"Michelle, right," Jack asked my roommate, "It's nice to meet you."

"Same," she mumbled.

"Hey why are so sad," he asked her.

"My boyfriend cheated on me and then dumped me," she told him, "I'm a little crushed."

"Fuck that loser," Jack told her, "If I were him, I never would break a girl like you's heart. I'd be thinking how lucky I was to win her heart."

"Jack," Alex tried to get him to stop flirting.

"Don't stop him," I whispered, "He could help Michelle feel better."

"Hey Michelle, let me take you out for lunch and leave these two to study," Jack pulled Michelle out of her seat. She was hesitant to go with him.

"Go ahead Michelle. I'll catch up with you later," I told her and away she went with Jack.

"Now we're alone," Alex smiled as he and I sat at the table right next to each other.

"Are we going to eat first or help me study first," I asked him.

"I was thinking on helping you study first," he replied, "What should we study first?"

"Um, I have a test for French coming up and the vocabulary is killing me," I told him.

"Then we can tackle that first and move on from there," he smiled and dug into my backpack to get my French textbook out, "You know Jack was eager to meet you because of how I talked about you to him."

"Oh really," I was curious, "What did he say about me?"

"He said I was an example of love at first sight," he replied.

"Well do you believe in that sort of thing," I asked him.

"You tell me," he replied before kissing me.

I froze for a moment before I began to kiss him back. The way his lips felt against mine felt so perfect. It was like his was an extension of me, like my missing puzzle piece. When we broke apart, I was blushing but I wasn't embarrassed by kissing him. I was blushing because he was the first guy I had kissed in two years. It was incredible.

I can't wait to kiss him again.
