So Wrong, It's Right

Everything Will Be Alright

“Who the fuck is that?” I asked, I was trying so hard to be angry, but I knew what kind of look Jack had on his face. He had a history with that girl.
“It's not my place to say.” Alex mumbled, we walking into class and sat down.
“Please? Seriously, who is she and why have I never met her before?” I asked, I needed to know. I needed to confirm my suspicions.
“Ember, Jack will tell you. I promise.”

I pouted, and just let it go. I clearly wasn't going to get an answer from Alex. Our teacher began right as the bell rang, but I couldn't pay attention to save my life. All I kept thinking about was that girl. Up close she was even more beautiful. The way she just hugged Jack and called him babe, had to be because they dated. How long has it been? Why did they even break up?

Maybe she's a terrible a person, yeah, I can believe that. I can try to, there has to be a reason why they're not together anymore. I didn't even register that class was over until Alex nudged me, getting my attention. That's basically how the rest of the morning went. I hardly saw Jack at all, for whatever reason, he never came by my locker, and I never saw him at his.

By the time lunch rolled around, I didn't have the energy to be mad, I was just scared and feeling really insecure. I walked into the lunch room with Cass, finding myself not hungry as I started to compare myself to this girl who came out of literally nowhere. I saw down at our table first, not getting anything.

I watched the lunch room, sulking until my eyes landed on a head of perfect blonde hair, with a perfect body, while their perfect hand was tugging my boyfriend with them. I didn't even fill with anger, instead I was just disappointed. It took less than a day for him to go back to someone else. I felt someone sit next to me, and place an apple in front of me. It was Zack.

“You have to eat something.” He encourage.
“I'm not hungry.” I mumbled. “Who I she?”
“I can't-”
“Someone better tell me right the fuck now cause clearly Jack isn't going to.” I said, trying to be tough but my voice cracked. I looked back over to where Jack and that girl were now seated and talking.
“I'm sure he's-” Zack tried again, and I just cut him off.
“Don't. Just don't.” I stood up right as the rest of our friends came up to the table.
“Ember, where are you going?” Alex asked, and I just shrugged before walking out of the lunch room.

Dammit, why wasn't I going over there and demanding Jack to tell me who this was, tell her to back the fuck off, and leave my boyfriend alone?

I knew the answers were because all this was a secret and there was no way in hell I could beat her in the game of love. She was gorgeous, ridiculously so. She was closer to Jack's height, being able to rest her head on his shoulder with ease, she was blonde and every guy on earth loves a nice looking blonde.

I went to my locker and debated on just going home. I didn't want to deal with this day anymore. My last three classes had Jack, fucking Jared, and probably with my luck, that girl would be in one of them too. Leaning against my locker, I fiddled with my phone before something came to mind.

I could probably skip out on the rest of the day, but I didn't want to just go home to pout. Hanging out with any one of my friends wouldn't work out so well, since neither Zack or Alex will tell me what's going on. Cass and Rian have no idea about me and Jack yet so I can't just drop that all on them then expect them to answer questions about Boobs and Blonde.

So, I texted Dalton.

“Um, hello?”-Me
Who is this?” -Dalton
“Its Ember.”
“Oh! Hey!! What's up?”
“A lot of drama.”
“Is Jared bugging you?”
“It's not that...”
“Oh...need someone to talk to?”
“Yeah, I don't feel like going to class.”
“Meet me in the smaller gym. I have a free period anyway :)”
“Mmk”

I headed off to the meeting spot, I tried not over thinking anymore, my stress was high enough. By the time I got to the gym, Dalton was sitting at the top of the bleachers, waving at me. I quickly climbed the steps and took a seat.

“So, what's up, buttercup?” He asked.
“Well, just, something went down and I can really tell you any details because a lot of it is sort of a secret so if the story is too confusing, just stop me. Alright?”
“Sure.”
“Okay, umm...” I took in a breath. “So, I kinda have this boyfriend. It's a lot of trouble for us to be public, so we're kind of a secret right now and we've been through a lot of hell throughout our relationship so far. It finally got better since the Jared thing, and everything was perfect until this morning. This...this girl showed up and she's so...perfect and I caught my boyfriend looking at her like he knew her and was surprised to see her but there was....something else.
“You think he likes her?”
“I think they've been together already.” I admitted, and he frowned.
“Did you ask?”
“I tried, but he walked away from me. I asked our friends, and they keep saying it's not their story to tell.”
“Okay, yeah, he probably was with her at some point.” Dalton confirmed, making me feel worse. “But, that doesn't mean anything.”
“But it could! I'm pretty sure she wants to get back with him considering she hugged him in the hall, then stole him away at lunch and called him babe.” I complained.
“Well, he's with you. I'm sure he wouldn't just dump you out of nowhere.”
“He might.”
“Why?”
“Cause she's perfect.” I pouted.
“No one's perfect, darling.” Dalton assured, but I shook my head.
“She might as well be. She's tall, with perfect hair, and a perfect body. Hell, if I was a guy, I would want to just stare into her eyes getting lost in how they can be so memorizing.”
“You act like you're not attractive.” Dalton sighed.
“I might be pretty but she's-”
“She's not perfect. Quit saying that.” He commanded sternly. “Also, she is not you. You're not just shot ya'know. You're petite, and cute. Like a doll, alright? I'm gonna guess this girl is more...well....girly. You, however, show who you really are and you work it just fine. The guys on the team have talked about you, and from what I hear, you're still considered quite the catch.”

“They probably haven't seen her yet.” I mumbled, still being stubborn.
“Look, that's not the only thing that matters. Your guy fell for you for a reason beyond looks. You're pretty cool. However, right now, I'm not seeing the spitfire everyone is talking about.”
“The fire died with my self-esteem.”
“You're really this low over some girl catching your guys eye for maybe a day?” I stayed quiet. “You're stressing over things that haven't, and most likely won't, happen. Any guy would be crazy to just leave you.”
“But if they've already been together-”
“There was a reason they broke up in the first place.” Dalton stopped my argument.
“I guess...you're right.”
“Good girl.” We both jumped as the bell rang for next period. “But, you can't just skip all your classes now. What do you have?”
“Chemistry.” I answered before groaning. “With Jared.”
“Hmm...chemistry...oh I have a friend in that class!”
“Another football player? No offense, but I really don't wanna get in with a bunch of jocks.”
“No no, a girl friend.” he chuckled. “I'm kind of a closet gay, but she knows. Her name is Hayley. Flamin red hair?”
“You mean the girl who spends one day dressed like a hot topic model and another like she's six years old?” I asked, thinking back to the people in my class.
“That's her.” Dalton smiled. “Sit by her, and ignore the creep. And don't worry about your boyfriend, everything will be alright.” I simply nodded at his statement. “I want to hear you say it.”
“Everything...everything will be alright.” I repeated, and smiled.

Everything will be alright.

Notes

Will it be alright? What were Jack and Morgan talking about? Ooooh~
