Warning: dangerous situaion in a car
It was a week later. Ella, Matt and I had become really good friends. I could see that she was attracted especially to Matt, but I knew he only loved me. Or so I thought…
We were at her flat once again, each having had a beer or two already (she was great at supplying us with beer) and we were chatting. Matt was quite tired. I went for a wee and returned shortly after. I picked up some pizza and more beer bottles for the others in the kitchen and happily strode back to the living room, where they were on the sofa.
Only that they were not sitting, but lying on each other, Ella was on top. I could hear some muffled words coming from Matt.
Every last drop of blood was drained from my face. I couldn’t believe this. Before I even noticed I’d let go, the plate was broken on the floor, just like the beer bottles. I could smell the sweet smell of barley and alcohol, and before the golden liquid could soak my feet, I ran off, glass shards piercing my feet.
I jumped in the car, holding up for just a second to wipe away the tears that were not stopping to stream from my eyes. My vision was blurred and my heart felt like it was in pieces, but I didn’t care. Additionally, it was starting to be foggy and a fine sprinkling rain was coming down too.
But I really didn’t care, I just needed to get away from here. Angrily, I wiped my eyes again. I set the car’s music on full volume, blasting Greenday’s “Murder City”.
I couldn’t stop crying, what I had seen was just too painful. I still couldn’t believe Matt would do something like this to me. Maybe it had been Ella who had attacked him. But I was not sure…
Before I could finish my thought, something caught my eye. It was a living thing on the road, right in front of me, but I could not see it properly because of the rain and my tears. It was only when I was about to hit it when I recognized it as a human being.
