Oh Life
Seventeen.
Ashley POV:
I was getting ready for my second birthday party, and I was pretty excited. Tonight we would tell them all that I was pregnant, and I had no idea how they would react. Jack and Emily were both very happy for us. I still hadn't asked Emily how things between her and Jack were. Yesterday it seemed like they forgot about the past. I think that's a good thing, because I know Emily better than anyone and I can see that she still has feelings for Jack. She just needs some time. Alex had said to me that he could see Jack really loves Emily and that if she would give him another chance, he would never do that to her again. I believed him, because I knew Alex and Jack had a really special friendship and knew everything about each other. I still had hope for the two of them, and that's actually why I didn't invite Noah to my second birthday party.
"That dress is so gorgeous." Alex said when he came into the bathroom to do his hair. "Thanks." I kissed his cheek. "I thought I better wear it once more before I get too fat." He chuckled and took my face in his hands. "I love you." "I love you too." I smiled. Just when he leaned in for a kiss, the doorbell rang. He sighed and let go of me so I could open the door already while he did his hair.
"Hey!" I smiled when I saw Cassadee and Rian in the doorway. "Come in. Alex is still upstairs, doing his hair." We just sat down in the living room when Alex came down the stairs to join us. "Finally." Rian said. Alex rolled his eyes at him and sat down next to me. The doorbell rang again and I gave Alex a look. "What?" he said. "It's your turn to open the door." He sighed and walked to the door. "ALEEEEX!" That was obviously Jack. "Hey Alex." I heard another voice. Emily. I grinned and ran towards the door. "Emily, Jack!" I pulled them both in a big hug. They followed us into the living room and took a seat next to each other.
After a couple more minutes, also Zack arrived. Alex gave everyone a glass of champagne and got me some water. I gave him a smile and he sat down next to me. After a while the boys were talking to each other about band stuff and Cassadee had joined their conversation. Since Emily and I didn't know anything about being in a band, we decided to stay out of this conversation. "Who's hungry?" I asked. "ME!" They all said. I laughed and walked with Emily to the kitchen to warm up some pizza. "How is my pregnant bestfriend?" she asked when the others couldn't hear us anymore. "Great. Alex took it so well. I have the best boyfriend in the world!" I smiled. "Told you it would all be fine." She opened the fridge and filled her glass with some more champagne. "Too bad you can't drink alcohol." "Enough about me. What's up with you and Jack?" I asked her. She sighed and sat down on a chair, taking another sip of her champagne. "We're friends again, I guess." "Just friends?" I teased. "I don't know what to do, Ash. He really hurt me and I'm not ready to give him another chance. I still love him so much, but I just can't.. I think it's the best to be just friends for the moment. We'll see what happens in the future." I nodded and understood her decision.
An hour later, Alex stood up from his place and took my hand. "We better tell them now before they get too drunk." he grinned. "Hey! Can y'all shut up for a moment?" he said. Everybody turned towards Alex and me. "It's time for the annoucement we promised." Alex said. Emily and Jack gave each other a look and smiled. "We wanted to tell you that.." Alex began. "We're expecting a baby!" I finished his sentence. Rian's mouth fell open and Zack almost choked on the last piece of pizza he was eating. Cassadee stood up and walked towards us. "Wow, congratulations!" she smiled and pulled me into a hug. "Thanks." "Congrats, Alex." "Thanks Cass." Rian and Zack stood up from their place as well and congratulated us, too. "A little Gaskarth, who had ever thought that would happen." Rian grinned. Jack came out of the kitchen with another bottle of champagne. "We need to celebrate this!"
