You're Only Happy When I'm Wasted
On My Feet and Staggering
"Hey, Stella." My sister opened the knob to my room. I had just finished taking a bath and was halfway finished dressing up. I slipped on my 'Red Jumpsuit Apparatus' shirt just in time. "Tay, It's not really illegal to knock, you know." I reprimanded her with a smile. "Oh! Yeah. Sorry." she smiled apologetically. "It's cool.". I placed my hair over my shoulder and sat down. "So, what's up, sis?" . She perked up and smiled at me. "Guess what? Our cover with Alex, 'Kiss Me Again', sold a million copies worldwide. It's really spreading like wildfire!"
A hint of jealousy shot me in the heart. My big sister, Tay Jardine, is the frontman of the band "We Are In The Crowd". It's starting to get famous now, and even they are starting to go on tour. I've always wanted to be a frontman at some band, too. But I don't think I have the voice to.
"That's nice, Tay!" I smiled quite sincerely. "Congratulations.". "Thanks." Tay grinned. "We're having a party at the Rumor Mill Bar. I reserved the whole lot, so would you like to go with us?"
I wanted to nod, but my recent jealousy stopped me. I'm happy for Tay, but still..
"Who's going?" I asked, playing with a nearby pen. "Hm..." Tay raised her hand and started counting with her fingers.
"Well, There's We The Kings."
Hmm.. Well, they are pretty good. But they weren't who I was looking for.
"Oh." I responded.
"There's also Hey Monday." she quickly added.
A little better.
I stood up and faced her, smiling hopefully.
"How about All Time Low?" I asked.
"Of course they'll go." she giggled.
My heart wanted to dance, but I tried to play it casual. "Oh, cool. I'll go. But don't get any ideas, okay? It's because you're my sister and I'm always here to support you." I smiled serenely at her. I could see her blushing as she smiled back. "Aw, Stell! That's really sweet." She hugged me for a few seconds and pulled back, heading for the door. "I've prepared some clothes for us. Wear them, okay?" she said, waving. I nodded and waved back. As she closed the door behind her, I felt myself up in the air. I leapt and did a fist pump.
