The Date
Arianna's POV
I made Rian sit on my bed for an hour and a half while I went through outfits, hair, and makeup for my dinner with Alex tonight. It has to be perfect. And I mean PERFECT.
When I was finally done getting ready, it was about 7:30. I started pacing, waiting for 7:50 to come so I could start walking to the diner.
"Oh my gosh Ari, calm down. It's just a date."
"It's my first date Rian! Ever! And I really like him."
"Well it's 7:45. Shoo. I love you." And he gives me a bear hug. "Be careful, okay?"
"Okay. Love you Ri!" And I walk out the door, not knowing where it would lead me.
Alex's POV
I'm so fucking nervous. I'm sitting here at the diner at 7:00, wearing a suit. Do I know what I'm doing? I don't think I do. I rearrange the flowers I brought on the table for about the hundreth time. 7:50. She's probably leaving home.
But then I heard the door open, and like a trigger, I turned. Arianna walked through the door, looking absolutely stunning. She looked around for a bit before her eyes found mine, and her face lit up. She practically skipped over to me.
"Hey Ari, you look beautiful." I said, giving her a hug.
"And you look very handsome yourself, Alexander."
We sit down. Most of dinner is uneventful. Her laugh, though, is so amazing. Everything about her is intoxicating.
"Wow, isn't the happy little messed up couple cute. Dawson and Gaskarth, who would have known?"
Oh shit.
Arianna's POV
Dinner was going so well, and then Evan's little lackey, Brian showed up.
"Please leave, Brian."
He mocked offense. "Now why would I do that?"
"Seriously, dude. Go away." Alex said.
"I'd watch what you say, Gaskarth. What do you two think you're playing at, looking all happy? Not suicidal anymore Ari? That's a shame. The letter you wrote Alex here was so cute."
Alex just looks at me. "Ari, is that true? You were going to kill yourself before you got stabbed?"
I start crying. "Yes, Alex. And I'm so sorry."
I can tell he's mad. "Dammit Arianna." He practically shouts.
Brian gets up. "Oh, don't want to cause any trouble. I'll just leave the happy couple be."
"Arianna-"
"Don't Alex. I'm not worth it. I'm sorry I screwed up your life. But I did love you. Goodbye."
And I run.
Alex's POV
Oh my god. Arianna.
When she gets up and runs, I follow after her, dropping the money for dinner on the table. I am so close to her, I can even hear her crying.
"Ari please wait!"
She turns and stops. But she's crying too hard to notice the semi-truck coming her way.
"Ari move!"
Her head snaps up, but it's too late.
