Chapter 24
*Elizabeth's POV*
I got out of the shower and got dressed in the pajamas I was in before, I walked out to find the guys talking in the front of the bus. When they saw me they all quieted. Alex was the first to speak up.
"Hey Lizzy, you ready to have the best day ever?"
"Uh, okay, but guys can we go by my house and get me some clothes first?"
The guys agreed although it was kind of a tight fit to get five of us in my tiny car. Jack offered to drive but he doesn't know where I live so I refused. I didn't want the guys to see where I lived but it was pretty much inevitable at this point.
"Okay, we're here. I hope you guys don't mind but my grandma doesn't really like guests in her house without a warning so y'all have to stay out here."
The guys all said it was no problem but I still hated making them wait.
"It will only be about 5 minutes I'll be right back."
*Zack's POV*
After Lizzy left we sat and talked about what we were going to do for the day, Jack piped up with one of the best ideas.
"Zack, you know how you asked me to see if Jaret could speak to Lizzy?"
"Yeah?"
"Well, I've got one better. He's actually having a hometown show tonight and it's not to far away. We could take her and be back by morning. If we could get matt to push back bus call a couple of hours we could definitely pull it off."
Rian got excited to and came up with his own idea.
"What if we have Jaret ask her to come on tour with us?"
We all agreed it was a great idea and ran it past Jaret, he agreed and even agreed to give us backstage passes. Everything is going to be perfect.
*Elizabeth's POV*
"Shit," I thought to myself, "they're waiting out in the car for me and I don't know what to wear."
I checked my phone, it had been 10 minutes and I told them it would be 5. shit! I settled on a red and grey sweater with a faded pair of jeans my red and black beanie with some studded grey converse. I looked myself over in the mirror and put on a little eye liner. I tried to convince myself that it had already been longer than I said and that I should hurry up and get down stairs but I really wanted to straighten my hair. I took another 10 minutes to finish my hair and rushed downstairs only to be stopped dead in my tracks. At the bottom of the stairs in the front room was Zack, playing with my cousin. My cousin Austin was 3 years old and he meant the world to me. Seeing Austin and Zack laughing and playing made me realize what a good dad Zack is going to be one day.
*Zack's POV*
"What's taking her so long dude?" Jack asked me
"I don't know I'm stuck out here same as you guys"
"Well I'm going to go get her." Rian offered
"No," I rushed, "I'll go get her."
"Of course you will." They all joked
I got to her front door and knocked. I waited and nobody answered. I knocked again and a little old lady opened the door.
"Sorry ma'am, I didn't mean to disturb you. Elizabeth lives here right?"
"It depends who's asking?"
"Sorry, I'm Elizabeth's best friend, well I used to be her best friend before she left me so I guess she's my best friend but I don't know if I'm hers and wow sorry I got off track. We are going to hang out today and she said 5 minutes and she'd be back at the car but she's still in here and it's been 15."
"Are you perhaps Zack?"
She asked as she motioned me to the couch
"Um, yes ma'am, how did you know?"
"Well you said Lizzy left you and when she first moved here she had terrible nightmares and she always screamed out something along the lines of 'no Zack' or 'I'm sorry Zack please forgive me' so one day I asked her and she told me that you were her best friend and apparently she never got to say bye when she left."
"Wow, she's not having them anymore right?"
"Not as frequently. She used to have them every night but now it's like once every couple of months. So she's getting better. Anyway, I have a no boys upstairs rule, you know no purple, but you can wait here on the couch I have to go finish dinner but you're welcome to wait in here."
"Thank you Mrs. Thornton."
Elizabeth's grandma walked out of the room and suddenly a little boy came running in. He looked about four and he was very active.
"Hi," he said very openly, "who are you?"
"Hey little guy, I'm Zack, I'm a friend of Elizabeth."
"I'm Austin did you know Elizabeth's my best friend?" The little boy asked happily
"Oh yeah, well long has she been you're best friend because she's been my best friend for years."
"She's been my best friend for ever, since I was born."
"Oh yeah, oh yeah." I said jokingly. I started tickling him and then I airplaned him around the room, he was laughing so much.
"Yeah, she's my best friend, not yours."
I could tell he was joking though. I threw him up in the air and caught him
"Nope she's my best friend."
I airplaned him some more and then noticed Lizzy standing at entry way looking at me and Austin.
"How long have you been standing there?"
"Long enough to see you argue with a three year old about your best friend." She laughed.
Okay so he's three not four, close enough. The smile on her face when she saw me and Austin was enough to light the night sky, she was so happy. I can't remember the last time I saw her smile that big but I promise I'm going to make sure I never have to miss it again.
*Elizabeth’s POV*
“oh yeah? Well then settle this for us, who is your best friend” Zack joked
“That’s a tough one but I have known Austin his whole life so I’m going to have to go with him.”
“Well then.” Zack huffed as he crossed his arms.
Suddenly Zack picked me up and ran me out to the car.
“SHIT! ZACK PUT ME DOWN!”
“Not happening” he teased
“Zack I’m too heavy for you put me down.”
He set me down out side the passenger side and got really close to my face.
“Don’t ever say that, you are perfect and I could carry you forever.”
“No, Zack, I’m huge and you could end up hurting yourself.”
With my last comment I got in the car and plugged in my head pones, I don’t where we’re going or how far it is but I do know that I definitely won’t be talking the rest of the way there

So a lot has been going on and I mean a lot. I am 34 days clean today, my grandma's best friend passed away so I've been babysitting more, my mother and me have been getting in more fights and I lost about 7 chapters of this story. the original chapter was better than this as far as I can remember but I lost it so I had to try to remember how it went. sorry about taking so long to update, hope you like it.
