Chased by the Past
Epilogue (Alex POV)
We had now had Mari for a few weeks. Everything was perfect. She was a really nice baby, not crying and calm most if the time. Jack and I were doing a great job at caring for her, we had developed a routine: he prepared her milk, I changed her diapers and we took turns or did it together when it came to singing her to sleep. Jack had composed a wonderful lullaby, but we also sang “our” lullaby to her.
Zack and Rian were still happily together, they were inseparable. It was adorable to always see these two tall, muscular men holding hands wherever they went, occasionally brushing each other’s cheek and exchanging looks.
They were also the god-parents for our little ball of cuteness, bringing her awesome presents, playing with her, and Rian had even bought a baby-drum kit for when she was older, whereas Zack had bought a tiny bass-guitar. They were always competing, it was very cute.
Eric was still around Zack sometimes, but they were not too close and someone of us was always around. I was still watching out for any too much of attraction though.
Zack and Rian also inspired me and Jack to be more lovey-dovey around each other and everything was just so marvellous!
My mum was visiting us regularly, checking on us and our household. She also babysat Mari for us if needed, it was very practicable.
Elizabeth, we were calling her Beth now, came over regularly as well, she had become a friend of us. We had discovered she had an amazing voice, and we were planning to record a song with her. She had enjoyed the blink-182 gig a lot, and Mark was planning on coming over soon to see Mari and Beth.
Our garden had undergone a fabulous metamorphosis, from old and everything grown wild to, flowering plants, beautiful old trees and we even had a little beet, all thanks to Rian. Zack and he were already planning on building a sandbox for Mari.
Everything seemed so perfect. I hoped it would stay like this forever.
