She doesn’t want to have to turn around and tell her boyfriend’s band mates what they’ve all feared this past week. Death is such an ugly word and a heartbreaking thing to have to come to terms with but it’s a harsh reality everyone has to face at least once in their lifetime.

“They’ve found his body.”

Watching the three grown men fall together crying loudly with broken hearts and dead hope made her stomach twist and knot. None of them were meant to die so early on in their music career, hell, none of them were meant to die until they were old and had dodgy hearts.

“It washed up on the beach a couple of hours ago.”

Cassadee hadn’t really had to think of a life without her boyfriend Rian before seeing as they’d only been together a year and everything was going so great. But she just guesses it was a case of “wrong time, wrong place” for him because a week ago, he just didn’t appear after he’d gone out to the beach for a swim near where their bands were playing.

“I’ve not been well for this past month and I’ve been as sick as a dog in the mornings.”

The three men who’ve all suddenly turned back into the little boys she’s seen videos and photos of appear again, their eyes full of fear and realization. It’s going to be the hardest for her out of all of them no matter how much the boys like to think it won’t be...
