I'll Paint You Wings, and I'll Set You Free

"I’m free.”

“I have something for you,” the half-angel smiled at Jack as he helped her clean up the dishes. “I was thinking that you’d love it as much as I’m suppose to love that picture that you are paining. I’ll clean this last plate up, and you can go check out your present.”
Jack nodded and made his way to his room. A smile stretched across his face when he saw his gift laying on his bed. It was a sky blue laptop with a wireless mouse. He quickly went over to it and picked it up. His hand ran across it. Jack couldn’t believe that he was finally going to be able to have contact with the outside world again after being away from it for over a month.
“Do you like it?” Jack turned to find his love standing in the doorway with a similar smile on her face.
“I love it.” He put it down and then ran over to her to plant a kiss on her lips. “Thank you so much.”
“I don’t care what Alvah thinks. I want to make you happy, and I know that you have been wanting to talk to your friends in so long and tell them that you’re ok.”
“You’re the best.” Another kiss.
She laughed. “I’m probably the worst but ok.”
“You’re not the worst.”
“I kidnapped you. What are you talking about?”
“I don’t care. Maybe I should put ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ on.”
Faida giggled. “Only Blink would have a song named after our situation. I’m going to clean up the house some, and you can talk to your friends. Kk?”
“K.”
With one more small peck to the lips, Faida left the room, and Jack went to sit on the bed again with the laptop. Being the Twitter freak that he is, he signed on to his account. Twitter would be the best way to tell everyone that he was ok. Although, it probably wouldn’t be the smartest because everyone would see it, but since when do demons use Twitter? Plus, Faida would know that Jack would use Twitter, so everything should be ok.
@JackAllTimeLow: I’m completely fine.
He didn’t really know how to tell everyone that he was ok. Retweets and replies started coming immediately. Of course there were ones from his band members. He didn’t want to tweet all that much because he knew that he couldn’t tell them everything, so he decided that he would only tweet Alex as a direct message. Alex could tell the others everything.
@JackAllTimeLow: I can’t tell you everything, but I wanted to tell you that I’m ok.
@AlexAllTimeLow: Where are you man? We’ve been worried sick! Did they hurt you? How are you able to be on Twitter?
@JackAllTimeLow: I can’t tell you where I am. She gave me a laptop, so I can tell you that I’m ok.
@AlexAllTimeLow: Who’s she, and why did she do that?
@JackAllTimeLow: I think you remember who ‘she’ is, and I’m dating her now.
@AlexAllTimeLow: Are you talking about that girl that you met at the meet-and-greet? Dating her?
@JackAllTimeLow: Yeah, and we’re dating. We’re in love.
@AlexAllTimeLow: If she loved you, she would let you come home.
@JackAllTimeLow: It’s not her choice. She’s taking a risk by giving me a laptop, so I can tell you I’m ok. I’ll be home when things are safe for us.
@AlexAllTimeLow: I don’t understand. Is she a prisoner too? Is that why she took you?
@JackAllTimeLow: Basically. I have to go now. I’m working on something to make us both free.
@AlexAllTimeLow: Just promise me that you’ll be careful.
@JackAllTimeLow: I promise.
Jack signed off and went over to the easel that held the main piece to his plan. He picked up the paint brush and started working on it. The picture was a picture of Faida with her back turned and her head turning around so you can see some of her face. Jack added the last touches on the face. He wanted that to be one of the last things that he did because he didn’t want Faida to know until after he completed it.
Jack added the last bit of color in her cheeks and lips and then put white and grey on his palette. With steady hands, he put the white on the paintbrush and started to fill in the empty part of the picture. The grey was used to put details in and to show every feather. Jack put so much work into each one. Although, he knew that he could never make them as perfect as the real thing, he wanted to make them look as real as he could. This was his masterpiece after all.
He finished the last stroke as Faida came into the room to hang with him. Jack turned around to look at her. There were swirls of white circling her. A couple of white feathers were flying around as well. The light started to create wing-like objects on her back before disappearing completely and leaving dove-like wings on her back.

Faida turned around in circles to try to look at the feathers on her back. Her eyes were wide. She couldn’t believe that she had wings again. She didn’t even know that it was possible. She would finally have control of her life again. Alvah couldn’t force her to do anything.

Alvah.

Faida had almost completely forgotten about him. He would know that he lost control of her, and he would not be happy about that. Knowing Alvah, he would probably come as fast as he could to try to gain it back. That would mean that she would lose all power that he had allowed her and Jack...

“We need to go.”

“What do you mean?”

“Alvah will be coming. I can’t let him hurt you.” Jack’s eyes widened. He hadn’t even thought of the consequences. “Grab your laptop and start packing some clothes. There is a book bag in your closet that you can use. Pack as much as you can as fast as you can. I’m going to go pack some clothes for myself.” She started to walk out of the room but stopped when Jack spoke up.

“I’m sorry, Faida.”

The winged girl turned around and smiled at him. “No need to be sorry. I’m free.” She started off out the door. “Oh, and it’s Angelique.”

Jack grinned from it all. Yes, they were going to be running away from a demon in order to stay alive, but that was ok in his book. He was going to go through it all with Angelique, and she’s finally truly happy again. Jack could see it in her eyes. Having someone that loves her back and to be free were the things that the girl that Jack once knew as the cruel Faida. In fact, he was happy that she was using her birth name again. It was the best way to erase everything that she once was.

The Lebanese man grabbed the laptop and put it in the big book bag. He then opened up the dresser drawer and put a as much clothes as he could stuff into the bag. In the other room, Angelique was doing the same thing. The only difference was that she made sure to pack all of her journals. Alvah could find something in them to use against her. The couple both finished at the same time and met in the kitchen.

“Where are we going to go?” Jack questioned. He was starting to get scared about everything.

Angelique was easily able to see it. She put her hand on his cheek and shushed him. “Don’t be scared. Everything will be fine. I’m not going to tell you where we’re going. Alvah might still be able to hear us in the house. I want you to take my hands and prepare yourself. I’ve never done this before because I didn’t have my wings, but I heard that if you’re not ready for it, it can make you throw up.”

“That’s the best thing that I want to hear my girlfriend say.”

She couldn’t help but laugh at his comment. “Anyway, let’s go.”

Jack took her hands, closed his eyes, and let out a shaky breath. Before he knew it, he could feel air rush around his body like if he was in the middle of a bipolar windstorm where the wind came in every direction. Jack’s hands gripped his girlfriend’s tighter. He knew that he shouldn’t be afraid, but every human would feel something similar if they were going through the same thing.

When his eyes opened, Jack saw that they were standing in the middle of the woods outside of a cute little cottage. He was not expecting to come here. Jack didn’t know how she was able to remember this place. Did someone tell her?

“I never told anyone that I remembered this place from when I was a baby.” Angelique turned her head to look at her first home. “I remember everything from when I was born to now. It’s probably because I’m a half-angel. I figured that Alvah wouldn’t think of looking here because I was so young when I was taken. I’m still surprised that you don’t think I’m some kind of weirdo.” She chuckled.

Jack took her face in his hands and gave her a soft kiss on the lips. “I love everything about you from how talented you are to how you remember everything to how you’re only half-human. Don’t ever forget that.”

Their little moment was broken when a voice came from the cottage doorway. It was a voice that neither of them were expecting. In fact, Angelique would only ever think about this moment in her dreams. It had always seemed like one of those things that would never happen.

“Angelique?” the white haired male asked. “Is that you?”

Angelique actually spoke. She didn’t think that she would be able to because she was so surprised but somehow she was able to get that one word out. “Dad?”

Notes

I feels so bad for not updating my stories in so long. This is what happens when school gets called off two days in a row, so I end up with a two day school week. I get really lazy when I don't have school. (I usually write when the library isn't busy.) I'm going to try to update my other stories tomorrow. Oh, and sorry for the little cliff hanger at the end. i hate them so much when I read, so I get how it feels to be annoyed by them, so I'm not a big fan of writing them unless I feel like it adds to the story.
Anyway..... It's almost three and I have bowling in the morning, so I'm not going to do the thank yous this chapter, but that you to everyone that has ever commented, subscribed, and recommended any of my stories!

@ironi1234
I will if I can come up with something for them or their daugther like my sister told me too. I do have an idea for a story that you might like since you liked this. Of course, I want that one to be longer. It will be a super power one isn't of supernatural, but I feel that if you like the story line in this you might like that one because I feel like they are closer than my other stories. I just need to come up with her powers and one of her sisters powers because I've only thought of one.
