Alex's POV. (5 years later.)
I woke up and realized that I was running late for work. This could not be happening. I had a huge presentation today that I couldn't miss.
I jumped out of bed, put my suit and tie on and headed down stairs. I saw my girlfriend, Tay, cooking breakfast.
"Tay" I said in a playfully angry voice. "I told you to wake me up at 7:30".
She looked at me . "Oh my gosh Alex! I totally forgot!" I laughed and gave her a quick kiss. "It's alright Tay. But I gotta get going. I love you" I said quickly while rushing out the door. "I love you to, Lexy!" I stopped and then kept going. Ugh. I hate when she calls me Lexy. Reminds me of when.. wait. No Alex. You will not think of him. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever.
I got into my car and started driving. The drive was peaceful and didn't take as long as I thought it would.
I walked into the meeting 20 minutes before it was scheduled to. I started setting up and when I finished I decided I would go get some breakfast and coffee.
Bad idea. When I did finally get my things I was running late.
I rushed into the meeting room. Luckily there was only one person there. I couldn't see him beings he was reading a book. I sat down and started going through my stuff making sure I had everything I needed.
The guy sitting across the table was reading "Moby Dick"
"Thats a really good book." I said making some small talk.
The guy looked up and said "I know right? One of my favorites"
Something about him was familiar. Almost too familiar.
Everyone started filing in.
My boss, Mr.Henderson came in and took a seat.
"Alex, I suppose you are ready to start. But, let me introduce our clients." he said and then contiuned. "This is Amy Wright, Tim Martin, and Jack Barakat. Everyone this is Alex Gaskarth."
I could feel the color leave my face. I looked over at Jack, The guy I haven't seen in 5 years. The guy who I first and still do love. The guy who I made leave.
He had the same expression I did.
"Lets get started shall we?" Mr.Henderson cleared his throat.
"Uh yeah.."
I kept looking over at jack. This was going to very interesting..

WELL IM SORRY IT HAS BEEN A WHILE. SCHOOL IS KICKING MY BUTT AND I HAVE A JOB BUT THIS IS A REALLY LONG CHAPTER. SO YEAH.Enjoy :-)
