P.O.V Alex
*6 months later*
Jack and I have been married for sixth months now and everything was perfect, we never really left honeymoon stage even when we got home. Sure we do fight but they never last and one of us always caves and apologises in the end. Jack still works as a teacher at Baltimore High and I have a boring job doing admin for a big firm. It’s not my dream but we need a way to pay the bills and feed ourselves. We have also been saving up for something special.
‘Jack, hurry your ass up!’ I yelled to Jack who was meticulously straightening his hair and spiking it up.
‘Give me a minute Lex, it takes time to look this beautiful!’ He yelled back still doing his hair as slowly and perfectly as ever. I sighed and plopped down on the couch switching the TV on to commence the long wait for Jack. I was flicking through the channels when an advert for adoption came on which caught my eye. I had always wanted kids of my own. I didn’t know about Jack though and we had never spoken about it before. I hoped he wanted kids; it would be a major problem if he didn’t. I just always imagined having my own little babies in my arms with me watching over them carefully and feeding them and changing their diapers. I sighed loudly and felt a pair of arms snake around my neck from behind the sofa.
‘Care to share what you are thinking about?’ Jacks gentle voice asked as he nuzzled his face into my neck gently.
‘It’s nothing important’ I lied, it was pretty damn important but now wasn’t the time to speak about it.
‘Mmm..’ Jack said uncertainly leaving a gentle kiss on my neck. ‘You would tell me if it was something important wouldn’t you Lex?’ Jacks voice whispered. I shifted on the sofa so that I was now facing my beautiful skunk haired husband.
‘Of course I would!’ I said reassuringly, smiling at Jack as I planted a soft kiss on his lips. ‘You ready to go now beautiful?’
‘Sure am’ Jack said happily skipping to the door and out to his car with me following close behind.

*three hours later*

‘Jack’ I whined childishly. ‘It’s been three hours and we haven’t seen a single one we have liked yet’
‘I know Lex, these things take time though’ He said, patting my knee gently.
‘What if we never find the one tough?’ I asked panicked.
‘We will find it!’ Jack reassured me. ‘Look, let’s just look at the last one and then we can go home for a break okay?’
‘Okay’ I said nodding my head and smiling at my always optimistic husband.

*30 minutes later*

I stared in awe at the rooms around me. This house was perfect. I would go as far as to say it was my dream house. Over three hours of house hunting had paid off. We were standing in my perfect house and I just hoped Jack felt the same.
‘What do you think babe?’ Jack asked wrapping his arms round my waist.
‘I love it, its perfect! I gushed wrapping my arms round his neck with a huge smile. ‘What do you think?’
Jack took a minute to think about his answer, I could feel my heart racing.
‘I love it too’ Jack said his face breaking out into a big smile. I almost screamed like a little girl in delight.
‘I can just see us and our kids running around here’ I gushed before realising what I said and slapping my hands over my mouth. My heart rate sped up again as I tried to think of a way past what I had just said. I had just spoke about ‘our kids’ before even knowing if Jack wanted kids. The thought of Jack not wanting kids made my eyes water.
‘Lex was wrong? Why are you crying?’ Jack asked gently.
‘It’s just cause I can see our life here and I really want kids in that life but I don’t know if you want that and I can’t choose between you and my future babies’ I sobbed into Jacks shoulder as he tried to calm me down.
‘Babe, you won’t ever need to choose between me and OUR babies’ Jacks said emphasising the ‘our’ part. ‘I want a family with you Alex. Me, you, however many babies we have and a dog. I want it all Alex. I want it all with you’
‘Do you really mean that?’ I asked looking into Jacks deep brown eyes.
‘I really do Lex, I really do’ Jack promised taking my face into his hands and kissing me gently before pulling away and cuddling me as we stood in the hallway to what would hopefully be our new house.
‘Jack’ I asked gently. ‘Can we get this house?’
‘I thought you’d never ask.’
