Prologue
Jack's P.O.V
8 years ago today, I fell in love with a girl called Jessica Nash. But being the socially awkward idiot I am, I pretended to hate her. Time went on and she fell for Zack. I was stupid to think that she's fall for me if I was horrible to her. Then one night we all went to the bar. Jess, Zack, Rian, Alex and me, it was a fun night, I finally had a conversation with Jess, things were going well. But me being me, I had one too many vodka red bulls and did something I'd grow to regret. I killed someone. Tony Moses was his name, such a nice man, but I led him into the woods and chopped his head off with an axe. They say we've all done things we're not proud of, but this is by far the worst thing I've ever done. I told Jess, Zack, Rian and Alex about it. Jess hated me even more for it, I was a fool to think she'd like me then. We all went on the run together. It was fun, me and Jess finally built a friendship. Until that day when we went for lunch in the little town in England, when I realised what an idiot I was. We flew back to America and I turned myself in. At the trial, I got a 25 year sentence. Just as they were taking me away, I kissed Jess, and she kissed back, she was still with Zack at the time. But when we kissed, I felt a connection between us, a connection so deep that I needed her. I was in love with her. But when I got out of prison, I showed up at her doorstep. She was married to Zack, and they even had a kid together. Olivia. Now don't get me wrong. Olivia is the funniest, smartest little girl I've ever met. Me and Jess went out for a walk together the day I got back. It was just the 2 of us. And in the park, on the swings, we kissed for the second time, and it was better than the first. We decided not to tell anyone about the kiss, and for the next few months, me and Jess would meet up secretly and sleep together; until she decided to come clean that is. She told Zack and he forgave her, their marriage is stronger than ever now and here I am, 2 years later, still heart broken. I don't think I'll ever find another girl like Jess again, she's one of a kind. My only one. And I let her go, because I'm an idiot.
