Find a Place for Me Again

Seven

I got myself dressed for the day in a black tank top, a black and red plaid shirt, a pair of acid wash dukes, my black lace TOMs, and my pair of Ray Bans. I clipped on my tour laminate that labeled me as press and grabbed my camera. I had a bunch of promo pictures to take today. Alex and the guys were going to busy too with their promo stuff as the headlining band this year.

I was proud of Alex this morning though. He remembered three things about me. That was progress. I'm surprised he didn't start back home. But I can't complain because he's starting to remember. I hope the next thing he remembers is how we met.
I was hired by Interscope to take pictures of their newest talent they signed. I was curious as to who they have me shooting for since they only told me they're from Baltimore and the pop-punk scene of that area.

"So when do we meet the photographer," I overheard someone ask.

"Soon I hope," another voice replied.

"Hi, I'm the photographer working the shoot today. The name's Mackenzie Flyzik," I greeted the group of men.

"Kenzie Beans," a guy with a lip ring replied.

"Oh my god! Matty Mouse," I squealed as I hugged my cousin, "Holy shit! I haven't talk to you in four damn years."

"Sorry I got busy. This is the band I work as a tour manager for. This is All Time Low," he replied.

"You'll be forgiven if you get me a job as a tour photographer," I whispered in his ear.

"Fat chance," he snorted.

I got to work with taking their pictures that I needed to get for their label. I was pretty happy to do this for them. They were really easy to work with and they made it fun for me. Even their flirtatious frontman.

"Hey Mackenzie, can I take you dinner some time," Alex asked.

"Sure, I'd like that," I replied, "Here's my address and number so you can set up the date."

I pulled myself out of my thoughts so I could focus on my work. I was working with Of Mice & Men at the moment and I was booked all day taking the pictures that would be used on the tour as well to make the schedules for the fans coming to the shows to know what bands are on what stage at what time. So I was making double on my work.

After Mice, I had Pierce the Veil and then I go the guys. I was pretty stoked to take their pictures today to be honest. This meant I might trigger his memory of us meeting. I could only hope.

"Hey Mazkenzie why are you crying," Mike asked.

"I remembered something about someone," I told him.

"Had a rough break up with a boyfriend," Vic asked.

"No," I replied, "Let's just say my boyfriend lost his memory of our entire two year relationship."

"That's hard," Tony said as he hugged me.

"Who's the lucky and unlucky guy," Jaime asked.

"Alex, from All Time Low," I told them, "He got into a car wreck a few weeks back and he only has amnesia around me."

"He'll remember in time, just be patient with him," Vic said.

"Thanks guys," I replied.
After Pierce's shoot I got to work with Alex and the guys. I was happy that I was working with them at last today. They were my last band for the day and after I was going to get ready for the Pierce the Veil bonfire and barbeque. This made me happy since I was going to get wasted and try to drown my sorrows over Alex.

"Alright guys just do what's good for you guys," I told them and they just posed like four normal guys that are best friends.

"Is this going to work for what you need the pictures for, Kenzie," Alex asked.

"Yeah they'll work out fine," I told him.

After I finished with them and started cleaning up my gear, Alex came over to me.

"I remember something else," he whispered in my ear.

"And what's that," I asked.

"How we met and how I asked you out to dinner," he replied. I turned around and I saw in his eyes the start of his crush. He was slowly coming back.

"So what now, Alex," I asked him.

"How about you be my date to the PTV bonfire tonight," he asked.

"I was planning on stag, but I'll go with you," I told him as I kissed his cheek, "I'll be ready when we have to go to their bus."

Comments

So I just read what you have of this, and I'm sad to see it was never finished. :(
It's a bit rushed at some parts, but I really like the concept of it. It surprised me that you had him gain his memory back kind of quickly; I thought for sure the twist was going to be he was going to lose it again or something. I found it a bit odd how that was kind of the plot for the first half, and then this second part kind of diverted from it. But I really like what you have of it, it's really sweet. :)
If you ever choose to finish it, I will be here to read. Although I think a final chapter wrap-up would totally work for this, if you're struggling for inspiration. Just a final update to conclude it.
You're a great writer, and so, I just wanted to leave a comment letting you know that, and to show that people are still stumbling across this and reading it. :)
